Sea Survival: My Luck is Off the Charts

Chapter 475: Putting the Small Group to Use

Chapter 475 -473: Putting the Small Group to Use

Henry Lewis also turned to look directly at her. The vision in his remaining eye had deteriorated severely, and he could only make out a blurry silhouette, but he made no effort to hide the hatred in his gaze.

He was convinced Faye Yardley was lying when she said she didn’t have any tree eyes. ‘Everyone else got one, so how could she not?!’

‘Those were all just excuses. She simply didn’t want to let him use it.’

His gaze was blocked by Zephyr Sterling, who then said, “Junior Brother, take Yardley outside to get something to eat.”

After they left, Henry Lewis sneered, “Hmph. You’re quite protective of her.”

“You can’t beat her,” Zephyr Sterling’s voice was flat. He had grown accustomed to Henry Lewis’s constant provocations and could now remain unfazed.

Henry Lewis instantly flew into a rage.

Once outside, Faye Yardley heard Master Veridian and the others discussing whether they should team up to use the Refined Island Entry Order or just trade it for something else.

As for Logan Langdon, he naturally hoped Master Veridian would be willing to trade the Island Entry Order.

After all, he had a Designated Location Voucher that could be used with an Island Entry Order.

Using it on an Ordinary Island Entry Order would be too much of a waste.

But if they didn’t want to trade it, getting a spot on the island wasn’t unacceptable either.

Seeing Faye Yardley return, Logan Langdon started to walk over, but Ethan Yardley and Zachary Pierce grabbed him from either side, holding him back.

Faye Yardley walked right up to the two women and offered to add them as friends. The woman who had been silent the whole time glanced at her but didn’t object.

Afterward, Faye Yardley took out a basket of fruit she had brought, which had no special buffs.

After a pleasant two-hour gathering, everyone went their separate ways. Faye Yardley left a small plate of red apricots and clementines for Master Veridian.

They planned to use the Island Entry Order the next morning. Since Logan Langdon and his group were going, Faye Yardley didn’t want to join the crowd.

She suddenly remembered that she still had reserved login time for Nightfall Citadel. She could go see if The Frigid World was still open to visitors.

She still didn’t know how to make the little thumb-sized person at home grow up.

Back in her room, she looked at the tiny person still sleeping soundly on her nightstand. Faye Yardley wrestled with the thought for a moment before asking the system, “Hey System, can I form a partner contract with this little person?”

[Yes, as long as the other party consents.]

Faye Yardley: …

She reached out and gently poked the little person with her index finger. “Hey little one, Crystal. How about I form a partner contract with you? It’s an equal contract, so neither of us can harm the other, just like partners or family. Okay? Well, if you don’t say anything, I’ll take that as a yes.”

Faye Yardley, who had been staring at her with wide eyes, saw the little one’s eyelashes flutter twice. ‘Looks like she agrees.’

“System, Crystal agrees! Form the contract for us.”

Soon, Crystal became the second person to form a partner contract with Faye Yardley.

Only when bound by the system’s contract could Faye Yardley bring herself to fully trust someone.

Otherwise, what if she used all her rare and valuable items on her, only to raise an ungrateful traitor?

She had to rule out all such possibilities.

Now that the contract was signed, Faye Yardley confidently took out her last remaining bottle of Life Essence, picked up the tiny person, pinched her little mouth open, and poured it in.

After absorbing the Life Essence, the little person’s complexion became rosy and much fuller. Faye wasn’t sure if it was her imagination, but she felt like she had grown a little taller.

“Not bad, not bad. It looks like this stuff has the most obvious effect on you.”

She recalled that the Sprites weren’t much bigger than this little person. ‘Maybe this is the right way to use it.’

‘It really does promote growth.’

Before, she had only thought of it as a special potion with healing abilities.

Faye Yardley placed her back in her little nest and said gently, “Sleep well.”

CHIRP CHIRP~ CHIRP CHIRP~

She turned to see Jade flitting about anxiously on the small balcony, its gaze seemingly fixed on the now-empty little bottle.

Walking outside, she raised her hand slightly, and Jade landed on it.

“Jade, it’s all gone. I can only give you some Flower Dew.”

Jade’s mood clearly dropped, but what was gone was gone. She couldn’t magically produce more.

“Alright, don’t be sad. I’ll remember to save some for you next time I get something good.”

Jade tilted its head and looked at her for a long moment before chirping and flying away.

Faye Yardley smiled as she watched it fly right out the window toward The Thunderhead, not worrying about it.

After some thought, she pulled Master Veridian, Jay Jonas, and Eleanor Jonas into a small group chat. This filled up the group, and everyone in it was trustworthy.

Then, she copied and pasted the information she got from the Truth Card into the group chat. She also sent a Gift containing another Truth Card, telling them that whoever had an idea could take it and give it a try.

Zachary Pierce: I’ll take it, then. I’m going to the island with Logan Langdon tomorrow anyway. I’m sure I’ll find an opportunity.

Master Veridian: Don’t worry, I’ll create an opportunity for you when we go to the island tomorrow morning. By the way, Yardley, are you sure you don’t want to join?

Faye Yardley: No thanks. I never get anything good when I’m with Logan Langdon. He’s bad luck for me.

Eleanor Jonas: What kind of major event could possibly affect everyone still surviving at sea? Could it also affect those who are already on the islands?

Jay Jonas: I’ll ask Logan Langdon later if there’s anything special about the place they’re staying at now.

Kyle Lewis: Mr. Jonas, could you also ask how my mom, Leah Chandler, is doing on Logan Langdon’s island?

Jay Jonas: Sure. Ms. Chandler should be one of Logan Langdon’s stewards. She’s a very capable person.

Zephyr Sterling: I just got some news from Miss Alden. I suspect this major event is most likely going to be the subversion of the Sea Survival System.

Jay Jonas: Explain.

Faye Yardley’s eyes were also glued to the screen. It was late at night, but clearly, no one felt the least bit sleepy.

Then she took a photo of the note Miss Alden had given her and sent it to the group chat.

Kyle Lewis: My mom knows? She specifically mentioned the Isle of Damnation. Do you think she’s trying to say people from the Isle of Damnation are also involved in this major event? But the Isle of Damnation only has a small village, and their combat power didn’t seem that high.

Master Veridian: On that island, what we saw were the people in the village. That doesn’t mean there aren’t others there.

The others strongly agreed with this point.

Kyle Lewis was too weak right now. When he offered to go and investigate, everyone rejected the idea. They told him to stay put at the guild headquarters, not to run around, and not to overthink things. They would let him know once they had news.

After all, a normal leader wouldn’t be willing to just give up on someone as capable and useful as his mother.

As for whether Logan Langdon was a normal person, no one said a word.

Faye Yardley glanced at the group chat, then went to take a shower. Before she knew it, it was already past midnight.

It was the last day of the calm period, and she was a little curious about what the new event would be.

Lying in bed, she realized she was more excited and expectant about the new event than she was afraid.

‘An event won’t be boring. I’m just afraid it’ll be *too* interesting, and my brain won’t be able to keep up.’
