Chapter 472: Everyone Reaps Rewards, Getting Familiar
Chapter 472 -470: Everyone Reaps Rewards, Getting Familiar
Faye Yardley was surprised. “So there’s actually a cap on the Four-dimensional Attributes? I thought as long as I kept training hard, they could increase infinitely.”
“I thought the same before,” Master Veridian agreed with a chuckle, nodding his head.
Truth be told, the others had thought so as well. However, this notification clearly told them the reality: attributes wouldn’t increase endlessly, and everyone’s cap might be different.
Eleanor Jonas smiled. “We really have you to thank for this, Faye. We’ve gained such an important piece of information. Even though I don’t know what the initial cap is, I know that my limit is definitely higher than the vast majority of people now.”
“Yes, Eleanor is right.” Jay Jonas then asked, “By the way, Yardley, you shouldn’t have invited us over just for a meal, right? Didn’t you say there were some good things?”
“Since Mr. Jonas is in a hurry, I won’t hide it. Here, these are Guild Upgrade Coupons that Mr. Zephyr Sterling and his team opened from their chests, along with my own reserves. I’ll use these to trade with you and Mr. Pierce this time.” Faye took out eight Guild Upgrade Coupons as she spoke. In addition, she handed a Transfer Card directly to Zachary Pierce. “Mr. Pierce, you probably need this, right?”
Eleanor was in charge of finances. Seeing these two items, her mind was already calculating what would be appropriate to offer in return. They indeed needed both items, so giving them up was impossible, but finding something of equal value would be a bit difficult. Her mind raced rapidly.
Faye wasn’t worried about them reneging on the debt. After all, since they had started interacting, they had never disappointed her. Even if they didn’t have anything suitable for her at the moment, they would make up for it later, or, with her consent, compensate her brother instead.
However, since the items belonged to Zephyr Sterling and Master Veridian, Faye made a point of clarifying that. How they would trade among themselves was naturally up to them to negotiate.
Master Veridian simply said, “Since we’ve already given everything to Yardley, just give whatever you have directly to her. There’s no need to give anything else to us.”
Zephyr Sterling shared the same sentiment. He then looked at Faye and asked, “Yardley, that’s your tree over there. Can I get closer to take a look?”
That towering, colossal presence in The Thunderhead was hard to ignore even if one tried.
Jay Jonas chimed in, “If possible, I’d like to go take a look too.”
Faye gave a sound of agreement. “Go ahead if you aren’t afraid of being struck by lightning. I’ll tell the Thunder Tree not to attack you. Mr. Pierce, please inform the Thunder Arc Tree as well.”
“Mhm. I’ll just go with them.”
“Then this old Daoist will join the fun too.”
Watching them leave, Eleanor pulled Faye aside. “Faye, you are truly amazing. Come, let me show you what new items we’ve gotten these past two days. See if there’s anything you like.”
Faye had to admit that every time she looked at their item list, she felt her horizons had been broadened. What caught Faye’s attention was Eleanor regretfully mentioning that they had unboxed an Unknown Fragment. However, the moment they got their hands on it, it suddenly vanished, and they had no idea what it was used for.
“Miss Eleanor, you got an Unknown Fragment too?”
“You did as well…”
Faye nodded. “Yes, but just like you, it vanished the moment I held it. However, I’m absolutely certain that there have been no changes in my body, so it couldn’t have merged into me. Furthermore, I lost two fragments right off the bat.”
“That’s so weird. Where on earth did they go?”
Neither of them could figure it out. Despite Eleanor being so well-informed, she hadn’t heard of anyone else collecting Unknown Fragments or instances of fragments transferring into someone else’s hands.
Faye didn’t dwell on things she couldn’t figure out. After all, with zero clues, she wouldn’t even know where to start. There was no need to make things difficult for herself.
“Don’t overthink it,” Faye said. “If the truth about these Unknown Fragments ever comes out, it’ll definitely make huge news. By then, we’ll all surely know.”
“Yeah, you’re right. I refuse to believe that the people who got them can keep it a secret forever.”
Faye picked out a few items she found interesting. Afterward, the two of them sat on the balcony, gazing at the dazzling Thunderhead in the near distance.
“Miss Eleanor, is the place you’re moored at right now also in the border zone? Is the density of the lightning strikes the same as here?”
“Pretty much. We’re a bit further away, though. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be able to fish up any chests.”
Whenever they had free time, everyone in the guild would run out of their base to fish for chests, not daring to waste a single second. Her visit this time could be considered stealing half a day of leisure.
For Faye, there wasn’t much of a change. Perhaps it wasn’t just because her personal Luck Value was high, but also because her raft possessed bonuses that could elevate the Luck attribute and increase the refresh rate of treasure chests.
As the two chatted, they saw the five men return looking rather disheveled. Faye looked at the Master’s hair and beard, which had curled up and stood on end. She almost couldn’t hold back her laughter. Her brother’s hair had literally turned into a sky-pointing pillar; he didn’t even need to style it anymore. If Jay Jonas and Zephyr Sterling’s hair wasn’t short enough, they probably would have looked the same.
They were dying of envy over Zachary Pierce’s immunity to the lightning. However, they all had the sense of boundaries not to ask Faye about it.
After everyone headed back, Faye gave her brother a Refined Island Entry Order and a pound of meat containing Divinity. The meat was prepared for Rainie Yardley.
“I won’t say much else,” Ethan Yardley said to his sister. “Take good care of yourself. If you plan to go onto the island, remember to call me.”
“Got it.”
At midnight, the system’s leaderboards quietly updated. On the individual combat power leaderboard, Faye undoubtedly took first place once again, suppressing all her peers. This time, it granted her a temporary addition of five Spirit points, while the raft leaderboard gave her a temporary increase of two Constitution points and two Strength points.
Faye, who hadn’t slept yet, was quite satisfied with the results. It had to be said that Zachary Pierce’s faction moved very quickly.
When Faye woke up at 4 AM, she received a server-wide system announcement. Zachary Pierce had occupied an island, and his faction was already recruiting people willing to step onto the island.
Faye glanced at the national channel. There were indeed many people chatting with names that clearly belonged to foreigners from Aquaria, eagerly signing up. There were plenty of capable individuals in their group. Trusting that they would handle the internal relations well, Faye truly just took a single glance before turning her attention elsewhere.
Today was already the third day since Bella and Cole Kensington had entered the Dungeon. If they were fast, they should be able to return by tonight. If they were slow, she would have to wait until tomorrow morning.
She headed straight to the training room. Since her physical attributes had changed, she naturally needed to re-familiarize herself with her body. At the very least, her Strength had decreased by two points compared to yesterday. To achieve the same effect as before, she would have to exert more force behind her punches. Moreover, her Spirit had suddenly surged by five points, which she also needed to properly adapt to.
Even though drifting on the sea seemed uneventful right now, who could guarantee that the system wouldn’t release a new event in the very next second?
