Sea Survival: My Luck is Off the Charts

Chapter 454: I Beg You, Save Me

Chapter 454 -452: I Beg You, Save Me

Everyone who heard the system announcement was going absolutely mad with jealousy.

This was especially true for the high-tier experts from other nations who had recently been integrated into the Veridia region. They were practically unrecognizable with envy.

The power rankings were always straightforward, but items like Divine Weapons also provided a significant boost to one’s combat strength.

However, an upgrade in one’s personal strength couldn’t be faked in the slightest.

How could someone else suddenly become so powerful? So powerful that it crushed any motivation others had to even try and catch up.

Faye Yardley couldn’t be bothered with what others were thinking right now. Her power had skyrocketed so quickly that, seeing as there were no major issues here, she rushed into the training room to get accustomed to her newfound strength.

It had to be said, the current region of the sea was vastly larger than back when it was just District 101.

Dahlia White and Mandy had eaten their fill, yet they had only managed to clear a small section of the area.

This small section alone was nearly half the size of the original Veridia region.

By the time Mandy returned, Faye Yardley was already out of the training room. Mandy promptly stuffed a ball of energy into her mouth.

Faye even heard her let out a satisfied burp.

“I can’t eat another bite. I’ve got to head back. Thanks for having me over. Next time there’s a feast like this, be sure to call me again.” With that, Mandy departed.

Dahlia White returned later and also stuffed a small ball of energy into Faye’s mouth. “I already gave you a portion earlier, so this is the rest. We’re even now. Be more generous with me next time, and I can do even more.”

BURP~

Dahlia White quickly covered her mouth. She was so bloated you could barely make out her features. “I’m off.”

“Thanks for all your hard work. Thank you, and goodbye.”

As soon as Dahlia’s figure vanished, Faye Yardley hurried back to her own room.

After being fed two balls of energy in quick succession, she was having trouble digesting it all.

She needed to enter seclusion as well.

After muting all system notifications, she sat cross-legged and began to circulate the Health Care Scripture.

The improved and upgraded Health Care Scripture truly had remarkable effects.

Immersed in her Cultivation to digest the energy balls, Faye Yardley was completely unaware of the storm brewing outside.

As the two sisters, Dahlia White and Mandy, departed, another system announcement sent the server-wide channel into an uproar.

[For inviting Otherkin aid and ending the violent thunderstorm period early in a quarter of the region, Player Faye Yardley is hereby awarded: Free Attribute Points +2, Reputation +1000.] x3

[Hahaha… I knew Yardley would step in! We had a similar situation back in District 101, and we barely took any damage.]

[That’s not fair! What about the aid other top players called in? Why aren’t there any announcements for them?]

[Maybe their contributions weren’t big enough. Tsk, tsk. Gotta say, it pays to stick with Yardley. Hey everyone, take a look. The ones who are all quiet are the new foreign players, aren’t they?]

[Even though the regions have merged, we’re definitely the ones closest to her.]

[Wait, wasn’t the black cloud thunderstorm supposed to be good for body tempering? By doing this, isn’t Yardley robbing us of a chance to get stronger?]

[Have some shame. If you were really that tough, you would’ve charged straight into the black clouds to temper your body from the start. No need to wait until now to run your mouth.]

[Heh~ The lightning is still cracking over here, and my whole crew can barely keep up. Anyone who wants to temper their body, hurry up and come help. I’ll send an invitation.]

[Instead of wasting time talking, you should be dealing with the sea creatures. You don’t want your raft wrecked by a sneak attack from some monster on top of all the lightning strikes.]

[Invite me if you need help. I can kill a few sea creatures, but only for an hour max. The duration on my Water-Repelling Pearl is limited.]

[+1, one-hour invites only. Anything longer is a waste of time.]

[Eleanor Jonas: Anyone in need can go to the Marketplace to collect a fixed allotment of wood for raft repairs.]

[…]

While everyone was busy helping one another, the system issued another server-wide announcement. This time, it was regarding the aid summoned by other players taking effect.

The areas of effect were just smaller, and the rewards were less significant.

But at least it showed that those players were genuinely trying to help, and it reminded everyone that they weren’t alone out on the sea.

This was incredibly important. At the end of the day, humans are social creatures, even if that sense of community could only be felt by seeing others in the chat channel.

Logan Langdon had taken a team to Nightfall Citadel and hadn’t returned yet. His raft remained unscathed, but the rafts of his other members weren’t so lucky, unless their owners were inside a Dungeon.

However, their area was right on the edge of the zone Mandy had cleared, so while they were attacked, the damage wasn’t fatal.

Henry Lewis, however, was particularly unlucky. The eye in which he had installed the Tree Eye was struck by lightning.

After letting out a piercing shriek, crimson blood began to flow from his eye.

The Tree Eye had fallen right out of his socket, leaving behind a dark, empty hole.

“No, no!”

No matter how agonizingly he wailed, it couldn’t change the fact that his Tree Eye had been destroyed by the lightning strike.

Henry Lewis stumbled back into the cabin on his raft and immediately called Master Veridian. “Master, Master, give me another Tree Eye! Quick!”

Master Veridian looked at his second disciple on the screen, his brow furrowed. “You… Sigh. I don’t have any more. It was a stroke of incredible luck that I obtained even one Tree Eye. Where am I supposed to find you another?”

“Master, you must have a way! Please, think of something! If you got one, you can definitely get a second. Are you just going to watch me lose my eye? Do you want to see me go blind?”

“My boy, your Master is powerless in this. If I had one…”

“You do have one, Master! You must! Aren’t you on good terms with Faye Yardley? Ask her for one! She’s bound to have one! Master, save me! I’m begging you, save me!”

Zephyr Sterling walked over, glanced at the frantic image of Henry projected in the air before his Master, and sighed. “Why don’t you come over here first? I can help treat your eye. As for the Tree Eye, we really don’t have any more.”

“I don’t believe you! You’re lying! You just joined the sect before me, you’re not even older than I am! Who are you putting on this sanctimonious ‘senior brother’ act for?!” Henry Lewis’s face, half-covered in blood, was contorted like a madman’s.

Master Veridian heaved a long sigh and ended the call. He had always known about his second disciple’s fierce ambition. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be strong, but misplaced ambition can lead to disaster.

“Master…”

Master Veridian waved a dismissive hand at Zephyr Sterling. “Go and clear out the restless creatures in the sea. As for your junior brother, don’t worry about him. He is not your responsibility.”

When Faye Yardley opened her eyes again, it was already the next day.

[Constitution +5, Agility +4, Strength +4, Spirit +3]

Who would have thought that in just two short days, her Constitution had broken past the 70-point mark.

An irrepressible grin spread across her face.

It was impossible to hide her genuine delight.

Such a massive and rapid increase in her Attributes, on top of the all-around improvement of her physical condition, was naturally due to more than just the energy feedback from Dahlia White and Mandy.

Her gaze shifted to the nightstand on her left. Faye Yardley smiled, “Hey, Crystal. Good morning~”
