Sea Survival: My Luck is Off the Charts

Chapter 444 - 442: Ethereal Body

Chapter 444: Chapter 442: Ethereal Body

Lucy White stuck to Nina of the Mermaid Clan like glue, dodging every attack that came her way. When she couldn’t evade in time, she’d crack her whip and use Nina as a human shield.

Fortunately, Nina had plenty of good items on her and threw them out one by one to block the fatal blows.

Being targeted by Lucy White was driving Nina absolutely mad.

What infuriated her even more was that Logan Langdon had run off to find Lucy White’s sister, looking extremely worried.

On top of that, more and more people arrived in waves to claim the Colossus. With her hands tied, Nina wished she could just turn around and kill Lucy White on the spot.

In truth, Lucy White was just angry that they had stopped her and her sister earlier. If they hadn’t, her sister wouldn’t be missing right now.

As more people arrived, Lucy White simply stuck to Nina on the periphery, preventing her from joining the fray to help anyone. ’Hmph. You wouldn’t let us leave, so I’ll just have to make some trouble for you. Would I even be Lucy White if I didn’t? None of you are getting anything out of this!’

While dodging attacks from various Frost Beasts, Lucy White was really just holding everyone back. It looked like she was helping, but in reality, she was just getting in everyone’s way.

She was particularly fixated on Nina.

This filled Nina with rage and resentment.

Entry into The Frigid World had been via random teleportation. Now that the portals were closed, figuring out how to get back to the railcar stop was a huge problem.

Faye Yardley was now on top of the tallest building in the city nearest the sea. Gazing into the distance, she could occasionally see the spectacular, firework-like explosions caused by clashing Skills.

The intangibility effect hadn’t worn off yet, but she had no idea which way to go to get out of here.

’How frustrating.’

Even more frustrating, she didn’t know where Cole Kensington and Lucy White were.

Based on the pull of their system contract, she could sense that the two of them were still in the middle of that chaotic battle.

But she couldn’t go back.

’Should I just make a run for it by myself?’

The thought surfaced, and Faye Yardley felt it wasn’t a bad idea. The main issue was which direction to run.

’Speaking of which, aren’t there a few too many Smoke People coming over?’

’Are they trying to snatch the prize at the last minute?’

’Should I take this opportunity to go back?’

’No. I took a bite of the Ice Crystal, and the energy inside me is still running wild. Besides, if it weren’t for everyone else holding it back, the Colossus would probably be chasing after me.’

’What would happen if I cultivated version 2.0 of the Health Care Scripture in this intangible state?’

She acted on the thought immediately.

Her body was bursting with energy that needed to be refined and assimilated.

As the Health Care Scripture began to circulate on its own in her intangible state, Faye Yardley felt something completely different from usual. It wasn’t that the energy was moving quickly; it just spread throughout her entire body instantly, without any barriers or distinctions.

It was a magical experience.

It felt as if she was cultivating, yet at the same time, as if she was doing nothing at all.

There were no discernible pathways for the energy to follow.

Unbound by a physical form, it seemed she had lost all her meridians. Yet, in Faye Yardley’s own perception, she had simply turned invisible and still had a ’physical’ body.

But obviously, this perception was just an illusion.

Faye Yardley could clearly "see" her own hand, but it could now pass through any solid object without resistance. For instance, her hand was currently sunk effortlessly into the concrete rooftop beneath her.

She felt no obstruction or pain whatsoever.

This was why she had traveled in a straight line after leaving the Colossus’s head, rising up and then falling back down.

Her entire body sank from the rooftop into the building’s interior.

Faye Yardley collected some office furniture and supplies into her backpack, even stashing everything from a boss’s private lounge into her Storage Ring.

’Hehe, I bet the coffee machine and everything still work.’

She also unapologetically swept up a large collection of old, famous teas and fine wines.

When you’re in an intangible state that even the thickest safe can’t block, there’s no reason to hold back on looting.

’It’s all useless just sitting here anyway,’ so she graciously helped herself.

She went from grabbing everything in sight to being more selective. It seems having too many good things really does make one picky.

After quickly looting the building, she left in a hurry, a bad feeling rising in her heart.

As she fled, she even ran straight into a Frost Beast. She passed right through it, extracting the Ice Crystal from within its body. The Frost Beast then collapsed and turned into a layer of ice, ceasing to exist.

Of course, she only did this two or three times before stopping to focus on escaping faster.

"My Lord, My Lord, the Colossus is on its last legs! We can’t let the outsiders take the prize."

"Mm. Take a group and hurry. It would be best if you can lure the Colossus over here. The large-scale Teleportation Array is almost ready."

"Yes, My Lord."

A squad of Smoke People departed at high speed.

Faye Yardley didn’t even dare to breathe.

’After all that running, did I just flee right into an inescapable trap set by the Smoke People?’

’Damn it!’

’But, a Teleportation Array...’

She went to slap her forehead, but of course, her hand just passed through empty air.

’What am I thinking? If I get teleported with them, I’ll be in deep trouble.’

The smart thing to do was to get farther away while the intangibility was still active.

Before leaving, Faye Yardley saw the tall, black Smoke Person take out a pile of Teleportation Discs and place them on an empty patch of ground. "Each of you take one and place it at its designated position."

WHOOSH. Like a wisp of wind, she passed through the pile of Teleportation Discs and snatched one on her way.

"My Lord, one of the Teleportation Discs is missing."

"Hmm? Impossible. I... How strange. Where did it go? Did I miscount?"

No matter how they puzzled over it, Faye Yardley had already slipped far away.

Meanwhile, the people who remained by the Colossus were finding the battle increasingly overwhelming. Not only were there more Smoke People, but the number of Frost Beasts was also skyrocketing.

Frost Beasts were even swarming toward them from all directions.

Logan Langdon was furious. He had just punched a hole where the heart-book was, preparing to enter, but a zombie suddenly emerged and thwarted him.

If Faye Yardley could get inside, then so could he. He just didn’t know what method she had used to do it.

’And it seems she’s gone now... but how is that possible?’

After he dealt with the troublesome zombie, a whip lashed out and blocked him for a moment. In the next second, the wound was somehow filled by a small Ice Beast.

Finally, gritting his teeth, he leaped into the Colossus’s open mouth.

"Well, well, Mermaid. Don’t you think your master has a special thing for my sister? He even jumped into the Colossus’s mouth to save her. Isn’t he afraid of being digested?" Lucy White never missed a chance to get under someone’s skin.

"Screw off! If it weren’t for you, he would’ve gotten in long ago."

"Tsk tsk, but he went in to save my sister, didn’t he? Why are you still fighting so desperately for him?"

Nina’s eyes were red with fury. "Get lost!"

Lucy White let out a wicked laugh. "Here, let me give you a hand."

With a flick of her whip, she wrapped it around Nina’s waist. Then, with a powerful tug, she flung her directly toward the Colossus’s enormous mouth.

"Don’t thank me! Just remember to help me find my sister, okay~?"

"AHHHH—"
