Chapter 1402 - 1429: Complicated Process
Chapter 1402: Chapter 1429: Complicated Process
Jiang Tian, as usual, went to buy a bunch of ingredients and then started fiddling in the kitchen.
What she was making was a therapeutic herbal soup, which she learned from Nianyang. The process was complicated; each ingredient needed to be steamed and boiled in different pots before starting to stew. It had to be stewed for five or six hours to reach perfection.
Although stewing soup sounds easy, you have to keep an eye on the process and constantly control the heat, which is really exhausting.
But Jiang Tian delighted in it, even felt very happy, thinking about Lu Xingshen drinking it, she was extremely blissful.
Finally, the stew was ready. Jiang Tian carefully ladled it into a lunch box, then went straight out the door. When she arrived at the agreed place with Xiao Wu, she saw Xiao Wu coming out with a box lost in thought. When he saw Jiang Tian, he was startled, "Miss Jiang, why are you here."
Jiang Tian blinked,
"Assistant Xiao Wu, what are you doing?"
Xiao Wu looked distressed, "Miss Jiang, Director Lu already knows everything, and he fired me."
Jiang Tian let out an "Ah," her cheeks slightly tense, feeling a bit awkward, "Fired? That serious?"
Xiao Wu nodded, saying, "Miss Jiang, Director Lu is very angry, don’t go showing up in front of him."
Jiang Tian felt very guilty, her eyes slightly reddened, "I’m sorry, it’s my fault for harming you. I’ll go speak to Mr. Lu on your behalf, asking him not to fire you."
She just wanted to be good to Lu Xingshen, really didn’t expect he would hate her so much, even involving others.
Jiang Tian knew that working in the jurisdiction hospital was not easy. Xiao Wu had been with Lu Xingshen for five years; how could he be fired because of her?
She insisted on finding Lu Xingshen, and Xiao Wu couldn’t stop her. On instinct, he grabbed her hand, just as Lu Xingshen, along with the new female assistant transferred from another department, came out. They unexpectedly encountered each other.
Lu Xingshen’s gaze fell on Xiao Wu’s hand gripping Jiang Tian’s arm, his face grew colder, and he spoke icily,
"Who allows idlers to make noise at the entrance of my jurisdiction hospital, are the security guards dead?"
The female assistant behind him immediately said, "Director Lu, I’ll call security right away."
Lu Xingshen responded, not looking to either side, walking past. Jiang Tian stared at the man’s ruthless back, bit her lip, and directly approached to block his way, "Mr. Lu!"
Lu Xingshen sneered coldly, "Miss Jiang, are we that familiar?"
Jiang Tian’s heart trembled, she knew what he meant: not to reveal their relationship in front of outsiders and preferably not appear before him.
She gathered her courage, "Mr. Lu, I brought herbal soup for you. It’s my own decision and has nothing to do with Assistant Xiao Wu. Can you not fire him?"
Lu Xingshen’s eyes were icy,
"When did it become your place to plead for my assistant? Who do you think you are?"
He bypassed Jiang Tian, striding to the roadside Hummer and pulling the car door open, but Jiang Tian quickly moved to grab the door,
"Lu Xingshen, if you have a problem with me, you can punish me. Assistant Xiao Wu is innocent, give him a chance."
Lu Xingshen sneered coldly, "Why do you think I fired Xiao Wu because of you? Do you think you have that much charm?"
Jiang Tian lowered her head, hearing his nearly malicious voice, "Then you think too much. I’m disgusted that my territory, my people, have been soiled by you, so I don’t permit him to exist, do you understand?"
"Director Lu, who is this lady?" The female assistant asked curiously.
Jiang Tian instinctively raised her head, looking at the man.
Her eyes still had a red tint, a faint stirring in her heart, surprisingly anticipating Lu Xingshen’s response. How would he introduce her?
"Her? Just a shameless woman who came sticking around."
