Chapter 825 - 819: Western Regions Buddha Country Great Light Temple
Qin Feng’s destination this time is not some world in the Outer Star Space but right within Biluo.
The Biluo Great World is extremely vast, with just the Southern Domain alone spanning billions of miles, not to mention the Five Domains and the even broader Sea Area.
Ninety-nine percent of the beings within the realm have not even stepped out of one domain. Although Qin Feng has been to the Central Region, Northern Domain, and Eastern Domain in recent years, he never stayed long in each domain and did not explore much.
Strictly speaking, it was during the time when he was being hunted after initially obtaining the Beiming Immortal Mansion in the Northern Domain that he went to more places.
Unfortunately, during that time, he was constantly evading pursuits, so he didn’t have the mood or opportunity to interact much with the local Cultivation World, making it not count as an exploration!
The Five Domains are vast, and Qin Feng wishes to travel across the realm once.
As for the direction, he did not choose the Eastern Domain, where Daoism’s Qi Fortune is the strongest, nor the Central Region, where Confucianism prospers, nor the Northern Domain, dominated by the Ten Directions Ghost City.
This time, Qin Feng intends to go to the Western Regions, occupied by Buddhism!
More specifically, he plans to visit the Great Light Temple, one of the three major Buddhist Holy Lands in the Western Regions!
The Great Light Temple is a Buddhist Holy Land second only to the Great Leiyin Temple where the Mituom Buddha is. It is said that in the depths of this Buddha Land, there is a Glazed Glass Light King Buddha sitting in meditation, whose Buddhist Law illuminates the heavens and the earth with incredible power!
Naturally, Qin Feng’s intention in going is not to accept their tonsure and join Buddhism, but to seek some opportunities.
A few days ago, during a casual chat with the Supreme Elder of his sect, he heard some news. Two years ago, a monk soldier team dispatched by the Great Light Temple to universally save beings from other worlds encountered an Angel Army when they entered a certain world!
The forces of two great worlds targeted that medium world, and neither side would back down, leading to an initial conflict!
In this battle, the Great Light Temple first sent out eighteen Arhats, who led the monk soldiers under their command to form an Arhat Formation, enhancing the strength of those eighteen Arhats and allowing them to charge in and out of the Angel Army seven times!
The Angel Army, having never experienced such a war formation tactic before, suffered a significant loss at the beginning of the engagement, causing great dissatisfaction among the Divine Beings in the army.
Thus, two twelve-winged Great Archangels had to step forward, attempting to crush this unknown strong enemy with overwhelming power, only to be blocked by two Bodhisattvas of the Great Light Temple, with neither side gaining an advantage!
Subsequent battles followed, though the Angel Army, due to their long-term combat experience, quickly adjusted their strategy and found a way to counter the Monk Soldier Formation. However, due to the considerable losses at the start of the war, they ultimately could not sustain their efforts and had to withdraw from that world!
The Great Light Temple’s monk army did not pursue them excessively.
In truth, they didn’t wish to establish a blood feud with the Light Great World at this stage, which would not benefit Biluo’s development plan otherwise.
While the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the Great Light Temple did not anticipate the encounter with the Angel Divine Clan likewise invading that world, they saw no reason to simply retreat once they encountered them.
On this, a strategy had been long established by Grandmaster Ancestor Taixuan and others. Although Biluo does not wish to engage in warfare with great worlds at present, they cannot shy away from battle if encountered!
Otherwise, the opponents might perceive them as weak, think they have an opportunity, and might preemptively strike Biluo!
Currently, Biluo must not show any signs of weakness; upon encountering formidable enemies from other great worlds, they must forcibly drive them back to demonstrate Biluo’s formidable strength, showing no fear of those great worlds.
This way, those great worlds will be wary, and they will not easily start a war between great worlds without understanding Biluo’s true strength.
After repelling the Angel Army, the Great Light Temple’s monk army continued their plan to universal save all beings, subduing with endless Buddhist Law, eventually making that medium world surrender voluntarily!
The scenes from the previous battles between the two armies were too terrifying.
Especially the scenes of fighting between several Bodhisattvas and the twelve-winged Great Archangels, causing mountains to crumble and the void to collapse, with the bright light reflecting the world, filling it with light at times. Other times, the Buddha Light illuminated, making countless beings aspire, and yet other times, the Light Holy Flame purified all impurities in the world, burning all life within a thousand-mile radius. Occasionally, a Hand-Held Buddha Country would appear, shielding ordinary beings from the holy flame’s harm.
It must be said that regardless of the true purpose behind Buddhism’s major entrance into other worlds, the gestures they perform often win over people’s hearts, making ordinary beings develop a sense of worship!
This is also the reason why the beings of that world would so easily accept the Buddhist rule.
Upon learning that the Great Light Temple had a battle with the Angel Divine Clan, Qin Feng’s interest stirred.
Among the nine-headed Main Spirit Beasts under his command, eight have already passed their tribulations and achieved the Immortal Dao.
Shortly after his return, he took some time to help the Spring and Autumn Cicada undergo a tribulation and advance to the Demon Immortal Realm, leaving the Light Giant Dragon in the third space of the Demon Refining Pot as the only one yet to advance.
Qin Feng takes this matter seriously.
Because the future of the Light Giant Dragon is likewise tied to the progress of his cultivation.
If there’s one shortcoming he has, it would undoubtedly be the Light Principle being his weakest area!
There’s no helping it; he himself is best at the Divine Skills and Laws he obtained after combining with the Ruyi Golden Snake, primarily focusing on Gold Element in his main cultivation direction and secondary on the Five Elements. As for other principles, they rely mainly on the insights of the Spiritual Beasts to improve.
As a result, the Light Giant Dragon’s delayed advancement severely holds him back!
In strict terms, the Light Giant Dragon’s cultivation speed isn’t particularly slow. Ever since the White Dragon followed him, not even a hundred years have passed, and to reach the Demigod Peak in such a short time is already considered unprecedented in the history of Dragon Species!
It’s just that the White Dragon’s cultivation progress is acceptable elsewhere, but with Qin Feng, it’s somewhat lagging behind.
Qin Feng’s countless opportunities and astonishing progress inadvertently left the stationary White Dragon far behind. Consequently, as Qin Feng prepared to advance to the Profound Immortal, he realized this shortcoming needed urgent resolution.
Otherwise, if the Light Principle remains too weak, it may not hinder his advancement but, due to the dominance of other principles, which take up more leading roles, would make it increasingly challenging for the Light Principle to catch up and aspire to the same level as others.
Hence, he has placed his hopes on the Great Light Temple to see if he could obtain some treasures from the Vajras and Arhats to aid the White Dragon’s advancement, and also to explore the Western Region’s Buddhist lands for additional opportunities.
Although the Buddhist Dao and Daoism have different cultivation systems, ultimately, they both originate from the Primordial Ancestor Realm. Hence, they are familiar with each other, with many cultivators, and even sects, simultaneously practicing the techniques of both Buddhist Dao and Daoism, leading to some notable achievements!
Qin Feng, however, has no intention of dual-cultivating Buddhist Dao techniques. Given his current status, he is not worried about being converted by the Buddhist Dao to become a protector. In fact, as the Master of Qi Luck within Biluo, even if he finds himself on Buddhist Dao territory, he would still have some opportunities granted to him.
Qin Feng feels that he has spent too much time in outer worlds, and as the Master of Qi Luck in Biluo, it is time for him to stay within the realm a bit longer, gaining benefits for his cultivation along the way.
Now that he has reached the Heavenly Immortal Peak, he believes that advancing within the realm might be somewhat easier. Therefore, he plans to both enhance the power of the White Dragon and seek mystical opportunities to break through the Profound Immortal bottleneck.
Once he advances to the Profound Immortal, he would consider expanding his efforts externally.
Thus, he stayed in his sect for a period to consolidate his cultivation, seeing off Ning Wuxu, Li Miaozhen, Qin Xi, and others who went to the Central Region for an expedition with Jue Tian Ancestor, before leisurely leaving the sect.
However, instead of heading straight to the Western Regions, he first returned to his family to visit his father and the old family head!
Given his current Dao cultivation, visiting the family wouldn’t take much time, and there’s no rush in improving the power of the White Dragon.
The family’s development has been rather smooth; although their foundations are thin and they need time for the younger generation to mature, no one dares to meddle with the Qin Family with a Heavenly Immortal like Qin Feng around. Hence, progress has been smooth without encountering much difficulty over the years.
Moreover, the Qin Family is generous with investments in cultivating family cultivators. As long as one is inclined towards cultivation, even those with lesser aptitude receive considerable resources, let alone those with good aptitude and understanding.
As a result, the Qin Family has produced a batch of outstanding disciples over the years, showcasing a vibrant and upward trend.
Because the Qin Family has a limited number of descendants, with very few possessing excellent aptitude, the family does not need to consider as many aspects as a sect would. They can simply invest resources into disciples with superior spirit and understanding.
This led to those excellent disciples progressing in their cultivation at a rate that rivals many top sect geniuses. Perhaps in a few more years, even family cultivators above the Purple Mansion Realm will be numerous!
Furthermore, with Qin Feng’s connections, the Qin Family can send family members through the Beast Taming Sect to train in otherworlds, significantly maturing their spirit after numerous practices.
However, in terms of fastest progress, it must be Qin Feng’s father, Qin Long, and the old family head, Qin Guanbao!
Qin Long’s cultivation speed hasn’t been slow these years. Back when Qin Feng accompanied the old family head to the Red Flame Demon Realm, Qin Long was in seclusion preparing to break through to the Dharma Image. Originally, after successfully breaking through, he needed to consolidate his cultivation before gradually planning to advance to the Primordial Spirit.
When the old family head led the family back, Qin Long, on his journey to discuss cooperation with other forces, encountered a stroke of luck which allowed him to successively break through, cultivating to the Primordial Spirit in a short time!
Upon his return to the family and witnessing his father’s cultivation, Qin Feng was momentarily stunned, as his father’s cultivation progress exceeded his expectations.
However, when he planned to ask his father about the fortune he encountered, Qin Long deflected the question, leaving Qin Feng rather speechless.
It seems his father has some secrets he doesn’t wish for him to know!
In the past, he might have secretly observed for a period to discern what secrets his father was hiding.
But now he doesn’t have the time. He only stayed with the family for three days, avoiding meeting ordinary family members, and refraining from having his father and the old family head spread the word of his return, to avoid countless families coming to establish connections, ensuring he could spend his days in peace!
Aside from his father’s unexpected progress, the old family head surprised Qin Feng even more!
For Qin Guanbao has also cultivated to the Primordial Spirit.
This left Qin Feng bemused!
Qin Long, with his greater talent and aptitude compared to the old family head, was usually more diligent in cultivation and had a deeper accumulation of cultivation. Encountering some fortune and advancing to the Primordial Spirit ahead of time is understandable, but how did the old family head manage to cultivate to such a level so quickly?
The old family head, however, did not hide the facts. Seeing the surprise on Qin Feng’s face, Qin Guanbao felt satisfied and voluntarily explained the reasons for his rapid cultivation.
It turns out it has something to do with Qin Feng!
During his expedition in the otherworld, Qin Guanbao encountered Elder Liuling who was slaying a divine spirit. By a stroke of fortune, he used the Ruyi Spiritual Golden Wind Divine Talisman given to him by Qin Feng for protection, thereby assisting Elder Liuling, who in turn gifted him a divine corpse!
At the time, Qin Guanbao was at the late stage of the Purple Mansion, with his Lifebound Spiritual Beast, the Shadow Leopard, still present. Thus, he spent substantial time having his Lifebound Spiritual Beast devour and digest the flesh of the Shadow Cat God, greatly enhancing its divine skills and strength, which in turn accelerated his cultivation progress.
After advancing to Dharma Image, Qin Guanbao’s strength improved considerably. He then gradually refined the remnant divine status of the Shadow Cat God, aided by its power of laws, significantly boosting his cultivation, achieving rapid progress.
In contrast, Qin Yang is progressing very normally. Although he does not lack ordinary cultivation resources, he hasn’t encountered any special opportunities, so he still remains at the late stage of the Purple Mansion.
By all accounts, reaching the late stage of the Purple Mansion at his age is quite commendable. Yet he is dissatisfied, and upon discovering Qin Feng’s return to the family, he persistently stays by his side, insisting that Qin Feng must help him make a breakthrough to the Daoist Dharma Image realm.
Indeed, among the younger generation of the family, a few with exceptionally outstanding talents have already advanced to the Purple Mansion realm. Although their early Purple Mansion cultivation still pales compared to his, being at the same realm as a few juniors makes him, the family’s third person, somewhat embarrassed, prompting him to seek Qin Feng’s help.
As for Qin Yang’s coaxing tactics, Qin Feng has no choice.
Their relationship is quite good, and since Qin Yang has already turned to him for assistance, offering a hand at convenience isn’t much of an issue.
Hence, he took out several Spirit Fruits containing the power of laws, stealthily infusing a small cluster of Life Origin into Qin Yang’s body while he refined them, using its life force and laws to help Qin Yang’s realm break through to the Dharma Image.
Of course, all these were done behind the old family head’s back; otherwise, if the old master found out how many Spirit Fruits Qin Yang consumed, he would certainly give Qin Yang a harsh scolding.
After all, those Spirit Fruits are enough to allow several Golden Core peak cultivators to advance to the Purple Mansion. Using them on Qin Yang was seen as somewhat wasteful.
Importantly, even without Qin Feng’s help, Qin Yang would have advanced in a few years. The family now has two Primordial Spirit realm cultivators, no longer in dire straits as before. A breakthrough to the Dharma Image is not worth the rush.
Compared to somewhat unreliable Qin Yang, the seemingly more unruly old family head actually cares most for the family.
Qin Feng didn’t pay much attention to these things. After helping Qin Yang advance to the Dharma Image, he left with a sprinkle of freedom, heading straight for the Western Regions!
