Chapter 618: Chapter 467: Shattering and The Fall (Part 2)
She could no longer feel the physical pain after extracting the five superpower Crystal Stones. The Sea of Consciousness was the most secret and important place for anyone with superpowers. Doing what Flora Bloom had done was tantamount to tearing out her own powers. Once the Crystal Stones left her body, her superpowers would be completely gone.
"It hurts so much!" The pain from her Sea of Consciousness struck her mind and soul, forcing an unsuppressible, muffled groan from Flora Bloom.
"Is that about enough?"
"I’d say she’s on her last breath!"
Enduring the shattering agony in both her body and soul, Flora Bloom steeled herself and infused all five Crystal Stones into the Tree of Life.
With the five Crystal Stones, the Tree of Life’s Life Force suddenly soared to its peak, making the entire space tremble violently.
While gritting her teeth and forcing down the blood that surged up her throat, Flora Bloom watched the two men in black, who were casually deciding whether she lived or died.
’I was already so strong in this life, but was it all for nothing?’
The five Crystal Stones leaving her body meant Flora Bloom had lost all her superpowers. But just then, in a daze, Flora Bloom felt a cool, crisp sensation connecting her body to the Tree of Life’s sapling.
At that moment, trickles of golden energy flowed from the Tree of Life’s few branches into Flora Bloom’s Sea of Consciousness, communicating with the empty, fading vortex within, seemingly protecting it from dissipating completely.
But a consciousness vortex without Crystal Stones was like a zombie without its Crystal Core. ’The core is gone. How could it possibly be saved?’
Flora Bloom lay on the ground within this space, gazing up at the sky.
She knew she was actually still in the same place. It was just that the two masked men in black had used their superpowers to instantly pull her into a parallel space they had sealed off.
She knew she was covered in blood, and that she could die at any moment. She just hoped it would all be over soon.
’No. I can die, but the great families of the Ancient Universe’s Star Nation must not live on Earth!’
In her daze, she saw her own internal space suddenly expand within her body, like a virtual realm.
The Spirit River, which had always been perfectly still, suddenly began to churn with waves. It connected with a newly formed Spirit Sea, becoming a single, immense, and endlessly winding river that flowed out of her internal space and into the real world.
’That’s right! The Spirit River has emerged from my space!’ It was now relentlessly crashing against the walls of the pocket dimension she was trapped in.
Next, a mountain range suddenly towered to an astonishing height, also appearing within her hazy line of sight.
’What’s happening? How did the Spirit River and mountains from my space get out?’
But now, Flora Bloom had completely lost control of her space.
From the great Spirit Fields and landmasses within her space, to the flowers, grass, and trees, and even all the various evolved lifeforms she had collected inside—everything followed, appearing in the outside world.
Finally, even the small farmhouse courtyard with its thatched cottage appeared in the sky above her.
It was as if her entire internal space had been moved out and manifested in the real world.
Suddenly, from its position at the headwaters of the Spirit River, the Tree of Life shot upward from its sapling state. It grew frantically, and in just a few seconds, it had become a towering, colossal tree, overflowing with golden light and an aura of life.
The Tree of Life seemed to have suddenly attained a near-human level of intelligence. As Flora Bloom’s gaze fell upon it, a magnificent yet cold voice resounded in her mind.
"Little Master, thank you for giving me a new life."
Though the Tree of Life’s voice possessed wisdom, it remained devoid of any emotion.
"You are the Tree of Life?"
"Yes, Little Master. I want to save you, but your Life Force is already running out. Unless we can find the eighth and final Life System Crystal Stone from the Divine-level space, not even I can save you!"
Flora Bloom shook her head grimly. "So be it. How much longer do I have?"
The Tree of Life did not reply. Just as Flora Bloom’s heart sank, a golden Energy Core suddenly emerged from the Tree of Life’s main trunk. It moved of its own accord toward Flora Bloom’s broken, bleeding body and vanished upon entering it.
"Little Master, I have only just finished growing. I have but a single drop of Life Essence. Sign a contract with me." A drop of rich, golden Life Essence dripped into Flora Bloom’s soul, which was already on the verge of scattering.
If Flora Bloom absorbed it, she might be able to cling to life for another moment. But the Eternal Life Contract she shared with Lex Cross, deep within her soul, told her something else: to keep even this single breath in her, Lex Cross was in a state no better than her own.
