Chapter 580 - 454: The Iron-Eating Beast Searches for Its Cub (3)
Chapter 580: Chapter 454: The Iron-Eating Beast Searches for Its Cub (3)
What was even stranger was that without Flora Bloom’s suppression, the cow didn’t reject the little cub. In fact, it even lay down to make it easier for the cub to fill its belly.
Watching the little one gulping down milk, its small belly swelling, Flora Bloom finally relaxed and withdrew her consciousness.
She had only been distracted for two or three minutes, yet the group opposing them still hadn’t noticed that the cub on the ground was missing.
She watched as the six people stared intently at the healthy cub in Irene Seymour’s arms, but they were helpless, their feet once again frozen solid by a layer of frost.
This Irene Seymour possessed an Ice Element superpower, a Mutant System derived from the Water Element. It wasn’t just powerful; her control was also excellent. The six people could only watch as Irene Seymour prepared to leave with the man beside her.
Suddenly, the ground not far away began to shake violently.
Flora Bloom and her companions turned to look. A massive evolved creature—covered in white fur, with black fur on its limbs, ears, and around its eyes—was furiously charging toward Irene Seymour.
"ROAR!"
Irene Seymour was startled. "What?!"
The giant Iron-Eating Beast was more than ten times the size of a normal human. It was plump and robust, clearly very well-fed.
A group of humans had lured it out of its cave with some delicious bamboo shoots. When it returned after a full meal, its two newborn cubs were gone.
The scent of unfamiliar humans lingered in the cave. Enraged, it had followed the trail, only to find one of the humans holding its child, about to flee.
The violent shaking broke Irene Seymour’s concentration, and her superpower controlling the six men dissipated. When the men saw the ice around their feet vanish, they immediately tried to scatter and flee.
But this Iron-Eating Beast was clearly exceptionally intelligent.
First, it knocked Irene Seymour unconscious with a single swipe of its paw, then snatched its cub, tucking it safely into the soft fur on its shoulder. Next, it turned and stomped its foot, sending a tremor through the ground.
A yellow light, characteristic of the Earth Element, radiated out from its foot. As the wave of yellow energy washed over the six men, they all collapsed, unconscious.
Only the man who had been with Irene Seymour remained unharmed. The Iron-Eating Beast, however, seemed to have no interest in him and let him escape.
Flora Bloom stared at the Iron-Eating Beast. It was tall and mighty, yet also had a silly, goofy air that made it incredibly cute. An irrepressible urge began to well up inside her.
"Flora, this is a great opportunity!"
"I think so too!"
They were instantly on the same page. Lex Cross dropped the cloak of devouring energy that had been concealing them. Holding Polly in one arm, he extended a tendril of his power toward the Iron-Eating Beast with the other.
But strangely, when Lex Cross’s seemingly invincible devouring power touched the Iron-Eating Beast, it was like a steel ball hitting cotton. The energy instantly dissipated, having no effect whatsoever.
Just then, the Iron-Eating Beast discovered their presence. The three adults and one child tensed up.
"’I’d forgotten. The Iron-Eating Beast’s defensive power is astounding. It’s immune to all elemental attacks," Lex Cross said with a self-deprecating laugh. He once again enveloped them all in his devouring power, leading Flora Bloom and Saul Sterling in a retreat.
"Iron-Eating Beasts are that powerful? Are you serious? This one has to be at least Planet Level! An evolved creature can take on a hundred superpower users of the same level! We can’t even scratch it!"
The Iron-Eating Beast had spotted the humans who attacked it and was about to retaliate, but they suddenly vanished.
Flora and the others watched as it sniffed the ground like a dog, apparently searching for its other missing cub.
"’Losing your kid like that... it’s either an idiot or a glutton. This is a rare opportunity. I’m going to try again!’"
Space Spirit Water was said to be a delicacy that no living creature could resist. Flora Bloom concentrated some of the spiritual water into a ball, held it in her hand, and reappeared a short distance in front of the Iron-Eating Beast.
"Hey!" Flora Bloom shouted.
"ROAR!" The Iron-Eating Beast roared a warning at Flora Bloom, then went back to its search.
Flora Bloom shouted "Hey!" again. When the Iron-Eating Beast ignored her, she tossed the ball of concentrated water straight at its mouth.
Struck in the mouth by the unknown object, the Iron-Eating Beast roared in anger and rose onto its hind legs like a well-trained dog.
Seizing the opportunity, Flora Bloom lobbed another Spirit Water Ball into its mouth.
It was hard to tell if the Iron-Eating Beast liked it or not. It just stood there, motionless, letting Flora Bloom hit it with dozens of water balls one after another.
Finally, after Flora Bloom tossed one more water ball, the Iron-Eating Beast leaped as nimbly as a cat to her side. It raised its two front paws like a begging dog.
Flora Bloom was overjoyed. ’It worked!’
She slowly reached a hand out toward it.
’Once I touch it, this unbeatable Iron-Eating Beast will be mine! It’s immune to elemental superpowers! I could just put it in front of me during a fight, and my enemies wouldn’t be able to do a thing!’
But in the next second, Flora Bloom froze.
The Iron-Eating Beast suddenly opened its mouth, and a torrent of liquid sprayed out, drenching Flora Bloom to the bone. It let out one last roar at the sky, shot her a look of utter disgust, and then lumbered off, gradually disappearing from sight.
Flora Bloom was on the verge of a breakdown. She could have sworn she saw a look of pure contempt in the panda’s eyes!
She could smell that the liquid covering her was the spiritual water she had just tossed into its mouth, except now it was mixed with the unmistakable stench of animal saliva.
A panda had actually spat on her! "I’m so furious! What stupid Iron-Eating Beast! It better pray it never falls into my hands!"
