Chapter 497: Chapter 424: Corrupting Marina Goldsmith (Part 4)
Winston Goldsmith had no idea what Flora Bloom had told his daughter to make the girl, who was as stubborn as a mule, suddenly compromise.
Even Lex Cross was a little curious. The woman beside him was scanning Oscar Owen with a mischievous glint in her eyes, making even him eager to see what would happen next.
Flora Bloom summoned the Golden Crow, which lay down on the ground. Winston Goldsmith climbed onto its back first.
The Golden Crow’s back was broad, able to accommodate ten people. For the four of them plus a baby in swaddling clothes, it was no issue at all.
Lex Cross and Flora Bloom climbed up in turn, settling on the other side of the Golden Crow’s back to wait for Marina Goldsmith, who was still standing before Oscar Owen.
Marina Goldsmith turned her head to look at Flora Bloom. After receiving an encouraging look and gesture from her, she suddenly snapped her gaze up to Oscar Owen.
For some reason, the way Marina Goldsmith looked at him made Oscar Owen’s heart skip a beat.
The earnest, brave, and straightforward young woman before him flushed red, and her glistening eyes seemed to be speaking to him.
Marina Goldsmith clasped her hands and took several deep, nervous breaths, finally mustering up her courage. Her already flushed cheeks turned an even deeper, almost purple, shade of red when she met Oscar Owen’s eyes.
Then, she suddenly took a few steps toward Oscar Owen, closed her eyes, rose onto her tiptoes, and planted a kiss on the corner of his mouth.
The innocent girl from the mountains had no experience, and a loud "SMACK" echoed through the air.
So embarrassed she could only stare at the ground, she ran with her head down toward Flora Bloom’s group and leaped onto the Golden Crow’s back. She hid behind Winston Goldsmith, not daring to peek out at all.
"Flora, quick, quick! Let’s go!"
Flora Bloom nodded with an amused smile and waved to Oscar Owen’s group. "We’re heading out now! Big Mr. Owens, keep in touch!"
The Golden Crow spread its massive wings, and with a single flap, carried them up into the sky.
For once, Oscar Owen didn’t respond to Flora Bloom’s farewell; he was still reeling from Marina Goldsmith’s resounding kiss. By the time he came to his senses, the Golden Crow had already carried them away.
Three had left, and five returned.
Watching from the base’s main gate, Jade breathed a sigh of relief as she saw the Golden Crow bring them all back safely.
Once on the ground, Flora Bloom led Winston Goldsmith and Marina Goldsmith directly into Villa Area Three, setting them up in a villa near her own home.
"Mr. Goldsmith, Marina, you two can stay here for now. If you need anything, just come find me. Tonight, we’re holding a welcome party for you in the courtyard—it’s just a chance for everyone to get together for a meal, and for you to meet everyone.
By the way, this is my father, Caleb Bloom. He’s also a Gold Ability User and will soon break through to the High-level."
"Mr. Bloom, a pleasure! I’m Winston Goldsmith, a High-level Gold Ability User!"
"Mr. Goldsmith, you must be the one Flora invited back! Is this your daughter? Come, come, let me show you around the base and help you get familiar with the place!"
Marina Goldsmith was still dwelling on her own bold actions. She looked at Flora Bloom anxiously. "Flora, I did what you said, but... will Big Mr. Owens think I’m not being proper? That I’m a bad girl?"
Hearing this, Lex Cross shot Flora Bloom a strange look. ’This woman actually taught the girl to do that, but I’ve never seen her be so forward herself!’
"Of course not, don’t worry! Your Big Mr. Owens probably still hasn’t recovered from that kiss! Don’t worry about it. Just focus on having a good time here at the Morhaven base! I’ll have Cynthia come take you hunting in the forest!"
Marina Goldsmith and Cynthia Grant were around the same age as Flora Bloom. With Flora needing to look after Polly, Cynthia and Marina quickly hit it off and began to hang out together.
The two of them didn’t go hunting in the forest, however. The Morhaven base was composed of many villa districts, streets, and shopping malls, and for a girl like Marina Goldsmith who had grown up in the mountains, it was all fascinating.
Instead, after Caleb Bloom took Winston Goldsmith on a tour of the base, Cynthia Grant led Marina Goldsmith to climb the wisteria arbors for honey, then to chase after Vert’s nine little praying mantises. They had a wonderful time playing and chasing each other.
