Reborn with a Space: Hoarding Food and Raising My Kid

Chapter 430 - 377: Selina’s Premature Birth

Chapter 430: Chapter 377: Selina’s Premature Birth

The moment the four tiny baby crocodiles broke through their eggshells, the space filled with abundant Spiritual Energy, making them feel quite comfortable.

Three of the pitch-black little behemoths acted like augers. Despite their small size, they were already performing their 360-degree death rolls, drilling holes in their eggshells before vigorously and slowly wriggling free.

Because the three little crocodiles looked so much alike, Flora Bloom decided to name them to make them easier to remember. The first one to emerge she called Shadow, the second Smoky, and the third, Shadow.

Flora Bloom then turned her attention to the blood-red little crocodile. It had only just poked its head out of the shell before it seemed to get stuck in the opening, completely still.

Its eyes were closed, and it made no sound. Flora Bloom went over to inspect it and found its breathing was faint. Its blood-red color didn’t come from a tough hide; rather, its skin was so transparent that it revealed the flesh and blood beneath.

The other three baby crocodiles, after crawling out, ate their eggshells until nothing was left. After their meal, they took a dip in the Spirit River and finally swam over to the behemoth’s side.

But the little blood-red crocodile seemed to have been abandoned. The behemoth paid it no mind, taking Shadow, Smoky, and Shadow into the Spirit River to teach them how to hunt.

Though the three black baby crocodiles had just been born, their superior genes gave them a significant size advantage. Compared to the newborn fish in the Spirit River, they were already quite large.

Flora Bloom, on the other hand, was at a loss for what to do about the blood-red crocodile still stuck in its shell.

She fed it a mouthful of spiritual water to ensure it would survive, then simply stared at it for a long time.

About half an hour passed, but the blood-red crocodile remained motionless. By now, the other three crocodiles had already devoured a round of mabuyu fry in the Spirit River and had grown noticeably larger.

Yet this little blood-red fellow remained completely still.

If Flora Bloom hadn’t been certain it was still breathing, she would have thought the little one had died.

Just then, Lex Cross followed Flora Bloom’s aura to the side of a Chinese parasol tree. It wasn’t just the towering, golden tree itself; even the surrounding flowers, grass, and woods were bursting with vitality and showing signs of evolution.

’Flora’s aura ends right here... so where is she?’

Lex Cross looked up at the nest nestled among the large branches in the canopy, and a smile spread across his face. ’That restless little girl,’ he thought.

He leaped lightly onto the lowest branch of the tree and, with a few deft movements, easily vaulted onto the edge of the enormous nest.

Just then, Flora Bloom emerged from her pocket dimension, cupping the shell-stuck, blood-red crocodile in her hands. She was contemplating whether she should help it break the rest of the way out and be properly born.

A soft laugh sounded from above her. Flora Bloom looked up. "You’re standing up there. Aren’t you afraid of the Golden Crow’s True Sun Fire?"

Lex Cross shook his head, a fond look on his face. "The True Sun Fire is powerful, indeed, but it can’t hurt me. And what’s this you’ve got here?"

"This would be so much easier if it were before the apocalypse. I could have just Googled ’how to deliver a baby crocodile.’ Look at this little guy. It’s stuck. If it doesn’t get out soon, I’m afraid it’s not going to make it."

Lex Cross watched Flora Bloom as she sat on one of the giant eggs, the Golden Crow’s True Sun Fire enveloping her in a suit of flame armor. It reminded him of when he’d seen her in Varden Village, leaping onto a zombie ox and fighting it with a water shield to block its flames.

Back then, though, her face was stern, like an unconquerable goddess of war.

But now, as she sat on the bird’s egg, gently cradling the crocodile egg with her brow furrowed in conflict, she seemed so much more vibrant to him.

But when he saw the blood-red baby crocodile stuck in the shell in Flora Bloom’s hands, he didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

’First, the ancient and nearly extinct Golden Crow clan. Then the Great Crow clan. And her evolved white tiger cub... if it keeps evolving, it’s going to be something else entirely.’

’Those species are powerful, but at least they’re reasonable.’

’But that War Wolf Clan cub she tamed back in the Heart of the Earth’s Fire is already a huge headache. And now a Bloodthirsty Giant Crocodile?’

’Never mind how hard it would be to raise a Bloodthirsty Giant Crocodile... he was thinking of the one on the Outer Battlefield. A being the size of a planet, capable of obliterating an entire galaxy with a single swipe of its claw. Countless crocodiles throughout the universe carry its bloodline, which is why, despite their small numbers, they dominate the entire Outer Battlefield.’

’The crucial thing was, within the entire Bloodthirsty Giant Crocodile race, only that one progenitor could be called a *true* Bloodthirsty Giant Crocodile. All its descendants were of a lesser, behemoth-class. Not a single one had ever inherited even a sliver of the progenitor’s Origin Blood.’
