Chapter 426: Chapter 373: Women Fighting

A huge commotion erupted in Villa Area One just before dawn, startling the leaders of the base’s several major factions.

Seth Warren arrived with Kirk Warren and Azure Leroy. Quinn brought Amos Rooney, and Sepherdine came with Jed Holden. They all reached Villa One at nearly the same time.

They claimed to be there for the show, but in reality, they had received word early that morning. Flora Bloom had brought a large group of people back to the base last night, and they were naturally eager to recruit some new talent.

Still, that didn’t mean they were going to miss the current spectacle.

There, they saw Lucia, her face dark, throw Chelsea Todd out. Then, she conjured a massive wave of water and sent it crashing toward Chelsea. It was a skill Flora Bloom had taught her, one she had practiced for a long time before seeing any real results. As the first person to experience it, Chelsea Todd—soaked to the bone and knocked to the ground—was living proof that the move was quite effective.

Chelsea Todd was a complete mess. The crowd of onlookers, which had started with just a few neighbors, was growing larger by the minute. She recognized Sepherdine and Seth Warren among them. Seeing the poorly hidden amusement in their eyes, Chelsea felt a wave of shame so intense she couldn’t lift her head.

Flying into a rage from the humiliation, she leaped to her feet. With a look that screamed, ’I’ll kill you!’, she charged at Lucia.

Lucia didn’t back down, sending wave after wave crashing into Chelsea Todd. Chelsea desperately clung to Lucia’s collar, letting the torrents of water slam into her stomach as the two devolved into a physical brawl.

A women’s fight is usually just a shouting match mixed with attacks on sensitive areas. It was hard to believe that Chelsea Todd, who had been one of the ladies from prominent families both before and after the apocalypse, was now screaming at the top of her lungs, yanking on Lucia’s collar so hard she pulled it down below her shoulder.

Naturally, Lucia wasn’t one to be outdone. First, she landed a slap that made Chelsea Todd’s head ring, then followed up with a kick straight to her stomach.

Her stomach was already reeling from the impacts of the water waves. Now, with a direct kick to the gut, Chelsea Todd’s stomach clenched violently, and she threw up all the bread and milk she had eaten earlier.

Seeing that Chelsea Todd was no match for her and that her clothes were in tatters, Lucia showed no mercy and delivered another kick. Chelsea, still retching, was knocked sideways and fell, very unfortunately, right into her own vomit.

A collective gasp went through the crowd.

’This Lucia... she cheated death, and now she’s gotten even more formidable since joining Flora Bloom’s team.’

It was rumored that fights between women could get particularly vicious, sometimes ending with one of them stripped bare, their clothes torn to shreds.

The men in the crowd began to catcall.

"Yeah, keep fighting! Strip her naked and beat her senseless!"

"Exactly! This chick’s not bad-looking, great body too. Let us guys get a good look at what’s under there!"

Just then, Tianna Bloom returned.

She made her way through the crowd and saw Chelsea Todd, soaked to the skin and reeking of stomach acid, with Lucia standing over her, looking down.

"Lucia, what happened?"

"It was Chelsea Todd! She barged into our house, ate our bread and milk, and then she wanted to eat our chicken soup and eggs! The nerve of her! Utterly shameless!"

Tianna Bloom’s expression darkened as she listened to Lucia. In the apocalypse, food was as precious as life itself. You didn’t touch someone else’s.

When Chelsea Todd heard Tianna Bloom’s voice and looked up to see her, her spirits immediately lifted. ’My savior is here!’

"Tianna! You’re finally here." Chelsea Todd was in such a wretched state she couldn’t get up. She pointed an accusing finger at Lucia. "It was her! Lucia bullied me! You have to teach her a lesson for me!"

Tianna Bloom was an Ice Ability User, and her powers had both control and attack capabilities. An ordinary person would be no match for her.

But despite her pleas, Tianna Bloom made no move. Instead, she straightened Lucia’s clothes and said, "Let’s go. We’re heading back."

Lucia took a couple of steps, then hesitated. "What about her?"

If this had been the old Tianna Bloom, she would have seen Chelsea Todd’s potential usefulness and deliberately tried to win her over.

But that wasn’t necessary anymore.

’Ever since I accepted Flora Bloom as my leader, my own power has skyrocketed. I have food when I need food and water when I need water. Not only that, Morhaven is now a place of peace and prosperity. Someone like Chelsea Todd... I really don’t give her a second thought.’

Watching the backs of Tianna Bloom and Lucia as they left together, a deep chill settled in Chelsea Todd’s heart. "Tianna! Tianna, what’s wrong with you? It’s me, Chelsea! Why are you helping an outsider instead of me?"

Chelsea Todd struggled to her feet. The pain in her stomach made her gasp, but she resolutely chased after them anyway.

She had just raised her hand to grab Tianna Bloom when a sudden chill spread from her feet. Ice had frozen them to the ground, causing her to lose her balance and fall once more.

"Tianna Bloom! What are you doing? It’s me, Chelsea Todd! Why did you freeze me?"

Tianna Bloom glanced back at her without a shred of pity. "Don’t ever come to our home again," she said. "Or next time, it won’t be this simple."

Chelsea Todd was completely bewildered.

’What is happening?’

’Five doesn’t want me anymore! Tianna doesn’t seem to want anything to do with me either; in fact, it looks like she hates me. And the most terrifying part is, this strange city of Morhaven is nothing like it was when I first arrived.’

’I don’t know anyone here, but I can see the mockery and disgust in their eyes.’

’It feels like my whole world is collapsing.’

Azure Leroy glanced at Seth Warren. "Should we help her? She’s actually quite pitiful."

Seth Warren knew of Chelsea Todd. More importantly, he knew that she and Flora Bloom were at odds. ’If I extend a helping hand now, will Flora Bloom read too much into it?’

’In this base, Sepherdine’s faction seems to be the dominant power, with my and Ralph Warren’s teams supporting each other to hold the number two spot. But in reality, Flora Bloom is the one with the most influence here.’

’If Flora Bloom had any interest in leading the entire base, the leader wouldn’t be Sepherdine. It would be her.’

Seth Warren and Kirk Warren left Villa One first, leading their team out of the base’s main gate to hunt for the day’s prey.

Azure Leroy looked at Chelsea Todd’s state and sneered inwardly. ’So what if you were a pampered young lady from a rich family? In the apocalypse, without power or teammates, you end up just like this pathetic creature before me.’

On the outside, however, she put on a gentle smile. "Are you alright? Can you stand?"

Chelsea Todd looked at the woman before her—clean clothes, dewy skin—who else could it be but Azure Leroy? There was a time when Flora Bloom had kept this very same Azure Leroy locked in a villa like a prisoner.

She had even mocked her for it.

But now, at this very moment, in the entire city of Morhaven, Azure Leroy had become her last and only hope.
