Reborn with a Space: Hoarding Food and Raising My Kid

Chapter 425 - 372: Chelsea Todd, the Food Thief

Chapter 425: Chapter 372: Chelsea Todd, the Food Thief

The group returned to the safe zone and ran into Bruce, who was on night watch duty.

Flora Bloom wasn’t familiar with the other teams in the base. But in her own team, someone was always assigned to stand guard in the villa area where her members lived.

This was their rule.

No matter how safe the base was, they couldn’t afford to let their guard down.

"Bruce, take these people to get registered. Level, name, age, and special skills—don’t miss a single detail. Then tomorrow morning, you can assign them as needed."

Bruce received Flora Bloom’s order and respectfully agreed. He was about to lead the group to the registration office when Chelsea Todd refused.

"Wait, why do I have to go? It’s not like I haven’t been here before. I don’t need to register!"

Bruce glanced at Flora Bloom, looking troubled. He then mustered his courage and said, "If you don’t register, you leave the base!"

This single sentence shut up many of the others who were about to complain.

’It’s their territory, and we can’t beat them in a fight. What choice do we have but to listen?’

Only Chelsea Todd pouted. "Who are you trying to scare? I’m not going! What are you gonna do, throw me out? If it weren’t for me, Brother Lex and Brother Five wouldn’t have brought those seven researchers over."

"Chelsea Todd, you can try me."

Chelsea Todd saw the chilling look in Flora Bloom’s eyes. Seeing that even Five wouldn’t help her, she stood there feeling wronged, glaring at Flora Bloom before falling silent.

Bruce led most of the people away to register their names. Lex Cross took the ten communication base station designers Simon had given him, and Cynthia Grant led them and twelve other special forces soldiers toward Villa Area Three.

There were still many empty villas in Villa Area Three. Lex Cross first led the ten communication base station personnel into a detached villa. Cynthia Grant then helped them get registered. When she returned later, she brought a good amount of water and food.

Cynthia Grant also told them some of the base’s rules. All supplies and water were distributed based on contribution, not on need.

For example, even though Morhaven had no more zombies or Crystal Cores, superpower users could still hunt. They could either keep their kills for themselves or trade them with the resource department of Flora Bloom’s team for other food they wanted.

Water was the one resource Morhaven didn’t lack. As long as you offered a certain payment, specialized well-diggers would come to your villa and install a well in a designated spot. Of course, if you wanted to install faucets or run pipes from the well to your kitchen and bathroom, you had to figure that out yourself.

These ten people were Simon’s, and their character and integrity were unknown, but they were ultimately of great use. The first step was to keep them under her own watch and help them quickly get used to and integrate into the group. Only then would they feel secure enough to work their hearts out for you.

But for these ten people, Morhaven was the best choice. The air was fresh, and the living environment was much better than Argent’s. Furthermore, based on the rules Cynthia Grant had explained, the system was ideal for them.

Moreover, receiving food and water right after arriving was a precious and heartwarming gesture to them. How could they possibly be dissatisfied?

Just like that, as dawn was breaking, a loud argument suddenly erupted from Villa One.

Today was Tianna Bloom’s turn to be on duty at Villa One. But no sooner had she stepped out the door than Chelsea Todd barged into her villa. Before she could say more than a few words, she started arguing with Lucia, who had just come downstairs for breakfast.

You see, Tianna Bloom and Chelsea Todd had been something like best friends back in Argent. Chelsea had even been a staunch supporter of the romance between Tianna Bloom and Lex Cross.

Returning to the Morhaven base this time, Chelsea Todd felt that it was completely different from before. The old Morhaven had been crowded, and the living conditions were generally poor. But now, the villa district was much larger than the area with ordinary houses.

The villa districts were separated by roads, and there were even two shopping malls. A smaller one was situated between the villa districts, its first floor now used as a trading market. The original mall shops had been converted into personal trading stalls, where all sorts of goods were sold in an exclusively barter-based system.

The second floor was a mission hall, identical to the one that had been near the high-rise area, except this one was run by Flora Bloom. She used this channel to provide some small benefits to the people of the Morhaven base.

The third floor was more specialized. It was the exclusive domain of Gold Ability Users. The shops up there had been converted into weapon smithies, each owned by a Gold Ability User. They sold their enhanced weapons in these shops. Transactions could be made with food or Crystal Cores, but since Morhaven currently lacked zombies and Crystal Cores, all trades were done with food.

The original medium-to-large shopping mall in Area Nine, however, was shrouded in mystery. Every day, Middle Level Superpower Users, leading several Initial-stage Superpower Users, stood guard at the mall’s entrances. No one was allowed in except for Flora Bloom and those she designated.

Naturally, even after registering, Chelsea Todd wasn’t allowed in either. And so, exhausted from the day, a weary Chelsea wanted to return to the villa she had lived in before.

The villa had an independent power supply system. As long as the generator didn’t break, there would be an endless supply of electricity.

As soon as Chelsea Todd went inside, she opened the refrigerator. To her surprise, there were chicken and goose eggs inside, along with a large bowl of chicken soup. What made her even happier was finding several big, red tomatoes and her favorite celtuce in the crisper drawer.

She grabbed a few slices of bread from the refrigerator door and an unopened carton of milk. Placing everything on the table, she put the chicken soup and two eggs into the steamer to heat them up. After finishing the bread and milk, she still wasn’t full. Just then, a sound from the steamer indicated the food was ready.

Just as she was about to get the chicken soup and eggs, she heard Lucia’s surprised voice.

"Chelsea Todd?! What are you doing in my house!" Although Lucia had been branded by Flora Bloom’s space, the bond didn’t change her personality. She was still the same petty Lucia.

Lucia opened the steamer, and a familiar aroma wafted out—it was the chicken soup made from a chicken that their master, Flora Bloom, had given them as an extra treat.

Lucia was now living with Tianna Bloom and Lucille Underwood. Their food came from their daily work, hunting small animals outside the base, or as rewards from their master, Flora Bloom.

"How dare you eat our food without our permission! You thief! Get out! Get the hell out!"

Lucia grabbed Chelsea Todd’s arm and tried to drag her outside, attempting to throw her out.

But thanks to the support of Flora Bloom’s spiritual water, Lucia’s physique had improved by more than just a little! Plus, she was now Level 3, so dealing with someone like Chelsea Todd was a piece of cake.

On the way, she saw the bread wrapper and the empty milk carton on the dining table. A pang of pain shot through her heart. Her eyes burned with fire as she looked at Chelsea Todd, wishing she could devour her to vent her anger.

But Chelsea Todd struggled and shouted back, feeling completely justified.

"Who do you think you are! This is my place! I haven’t even settled the score with you for taking over my house! It’s my house, so of course I can eat what’s inside!"

The commotion in Villa Area One grew louder and louder, eventually alerting Tianna Bloom, who was on duty outside.
