Chapter 414 - 363: The Unreliable Golden Crow
Chapter 414: Chapter 363: The Unreliable Golden Crow
Energy Gemstones were a mineral resource coveted by the major powers throughout the universe, capable of cultivating many powerful superpower users.
’Since it’s a mineral, it must grow inside a mountain. So does that mean this streak of crimson in my mountain range is actually a vein of Energy Gemstones?’
’But why don’t I remember having a mineral vein in my Spatial Mountain Range?’
’Or could it be an additional feature from the space’s last upgrade? Extracting rare minerals from within the space and infusing them into the mountain to form a vein?’
Flora Bloom looked at the few metal objects in her space.
There was an axe and a dagger that had been reinforced by a Gold Ability User, a few farming tools, and besides the airplane she had placed at the back of the mountain, only her original phone and tablet remained.
’Let’s see if the dagger will work first.’
’But how do I do it? What metal is the dagger made of? Iron? Steel? Or an alloy? A metal vein would have to be a pure, single type of metal, right?’
So, Flora Bloom tried everything she could, using her control over the space to completely separate the dagger into its constituent materials.
Unfortunately, it was useless.
The composition of the axe and the farming tools was likely similar to the dagger’s, and Flora Bloom didn’t want to waste the axe too. Thus, she put her experiment to prove that the space could generate mineral veins on hold.
The two little troublemakers wouldn’t get into any trouble inside the space, and besides, their mother’s spiritual power was here with them, which was a good thing. This could be considered Flora Bloom’s way of indirectly compensating Faye.
The Morhaven base was now practically a natural fortress. Its perimeter was a primeval forest filled with ferocious beasts, and evolved plants could be seen everywhere. Given time, Flora Bloom thought it might even develop into something like the forest world within the Eye of the Earth.
A scene with birds in the sky above and a lake below, with fish swimming in the water and beasts resting in the woods.
But now, she had one more thing to worry about.
Originally, after returning to the Morhaven base, Flora Bloom had planned to go to the old laboratory at the Morhaven Zoological and Botanical Garden to see if she could bring back any scientific research equipment.
As for the test tube they had found in the Argent research lab, Flora Bloom didn’t dare give the antidote inside to Cynthia Grant before it was tested. Besides, aside from Cynthia Grant, Annelise Locke, her brother, and Mervin Warren had also been injected with the drug. Even if the antidote worked, one dose was definitely not enough.
’She now deeply regretted not grabbing the unconscious researchers from the Argent lab, throwing them into her space, branding them, and bringing them back. If she had, she could have had them test the antidote’s safety and continue their experiments to produce more of it.’
Another thing giving her a headache was the sky.
Creatures were clearly becoming active in the air. Their own plane had nearly crashed on the way back, killing them all. When Lex Cross returned to Morhaven, would he face the same problem?
Professor Micah was an expert in physics research. If he could build the dispersal device he mentioned in a short amount of time and it passed testing, then that device would play a huge role for the current Morhaven base.
This was because the Morhaven base was already clear of zombies.
However, the Morhaven base had many superpower users. A large group of ability users with no Crystal Cores to upgrade would be completely vulnerable in future battles against zombie hordes.
Therefore, going to the nearest cities to hunt zombies and collect more Crystal Cores for upgrades was now the top priority for the Morhaven base.
Flora Bloom emerged from her space to find the room empty. She took out the satellite communicator and dialed a number. On the other end, Lex Cross picked up with a new communicator he had just recently been equipped with.
First, Flora Bloom told Lex Cross about the problems she and the others had encountered on their way back, warning him to be careful on his return journey.
"Don’t worry, I’ll be careful. Morhaven has abundant food right now, especially meat. I think you should set some aside to make long-lasting rations. It’s better to be prepared, just in case."
Flora Bloom and Lex Cross spoke for a long time. When she brought up the antidote for the drug’s side effects, Lex Cross said with a faint smile, "The experimental instruments, all sorts of equipment, the researchers, and all the lab data—I’ve already gone and prepared it all for you. You just focus on the pregnancy and stay safe in Morhaven. Wait for me to come back."
Flora Bloom had thought that when Lex Cross told her "don’t get involved in this matter," he was only referring to the issue with Leigh Atwood and the others. She never expected that he had already perfectly arranged everything she had just been sorting out in her own mind.
