Chapter 788: Chapter 782: A Full Collision

“Alright then.” Lin Cuiping accepted Nangong Shulan’s kindness, promising to repay her in the future.

“Go home, take a bath, and rest. Remember to come back this afternoon so I can teach you.” Nangong Shulan watched the sky darken, realizing it was already eight or nine o’clock. If she didn’t sleep soon, there wouldn’t be much time left for rest. Thankfully, Lin Cuiping had helped her prepare everything needed for tomorrow, otherwise she didn’t know till what time would she have to work until she could rest.

The next day, they rose punctually at three o’clock and got ready to set up their street stall. After establishing this routine, they would wake up on the dot and follow their daily steps.

The couple reached the street, set up their goods in the shop, and started their day of business.

Once they caught a break from the first wave of business, Nangong Shulan untied her apron and looked at Qin Lei.

“Honey, I’m going to Lele’s school. Can you manage the shop alone?” Nangong Shulan had already discussed with Qin Lei last night about being away for the day, leaving Qin Lei in charge of the shop, so he didn’t question his wife’s decision.

“Sure. Go ahead, be careful on the road.” Qin Lei reminded his wife, and turned to greet the arriving customers.

Nangong Shulan did not say anything else, but walked away with the items she had brought for her little daughter. She wanted to return as soon as possible because she was worried that her husband might struggle managing the shop alone.

“Hello. Can you tell me when school is over?” Nangong Shulan reached her daughter’s school and approached the guardhouse.

“Very soon. How can I help you?” The security guard asked, looking at Nangong Shulan.

“I would like to see Qin Jiale from class 1-2 of the senior grade. I am her mother.” Nangong Shulan explained, hoping the guard could help her find Jiale.

“Alright, just wait here for a while. I will call her out once school is over.” The security guard agreed to help after hearing she was Qin Jiale’s mother.

“Thank you.” Nangong Shulan replied with a smile.

She waited for almost half an hour before hearing the school bell ring. Once students began to exit, the guard’s loudspeaker crackled into action.

“Student Qin Jiale from class 1-2 of the Senior year, please come to the guardhouse. Someone is looking for you.” The guard repeated the announcement twice before switching off the loudspeaker.

Qin Jiale was heading for her meal when she heard the announcement. Wondering who could be looking for her, she murmured to herself.

With curiosity in her heart, Qin Jiale arrived at the guardhouse and asked, “Uncle, who is looking for me?”

Nangong Shulan had her back towards the entrance, so Qin Jiale hadn’t noticed her. After hearing her daughter’s voice, however, Nangong Shulan turned around.

“Mom, what brings you here?” Qin Jiale asked as soon as she saw her.

“I was wondering if you are running low on your allowance, so I thought I’d come check on you.” Nangong Shulan cheerfully replied.

“I still have enough. This is quite a surprise!” Qin Jiale would never have thought her mother would visit, as it had never happened before.

“Little girl, what do you mean by a surprise? I’m just worried about you,” Nangong Shulan couldn’t help but laugh. Was she not welcomed?

“Mom, I didn’t mean it that way. I just didn’t expect it, that’s all. Have you eaten yet? Let’s eat together.” Qin Jiale assumed her mother hadn’t eaten yet since she came at this hour.

“No need for that, I have some things to discuss with you. Let’s eat outside.” Nangong Shulan looked at her daughter. It wouldn’t be convenient to discuss the matters in the school cafeteria.

“Okay, wait for me. I will get permission to go out from the teacher.” Upon hearing her mother’s words, Qin Jiale had no objections. Their school was a closed campus. If someone’s home was far, they couldn’t leave without permission. Students were only allowed to leave to collect their living expenses during their monthly vacations.

“Alright, I’ll wait for you.” Nangong Shulan didn’t object. She respected the school’s rules.

“Oh dear.” Qin Jiale hurriedly went to find her head teacher, colliding with someone while climbing the stairs.

“Why are you running so fast?” Ye Li reached out to prevent Qin Jiale, who was about to topple backwards, from falling and reproached her.
