Chapter 2514 - 2416: Red Flag Brand
Chapter 2514: Chapter 2416: Red Flag Brand
In fact, inside Huo Sining’s storage ring, she had prepared quite a bit of cash for emergencies.
But earlier, she had already taken out quite a few things from her backpack, like snacks, a gun, and bullets.
If she were to pull out sixty or seventy thousand yuan from this backpack now, not to mention the meticulous scout Wu Jun, even the little girl Wu Ya might become suspicious.
So to avoid suspicion, Huo Sining had to make a show of going to the ATM to withdraw some money.
She was quick, and within a few minutes, she returned with her backpack, pulling out seven stacks of bills.
"Boss, please count this."
The owner didn’t have a POS machine at the bar, but he did have a counterfeit bill detector. He put those stacks of bills into it and quickly finished counting.
Confirming there was no issue with the money, Huo Sining was relieved and said directly:
"Keep the change. We’ve taken up your place, kept you busy all noon without rest, so consider this our venue fee. My companions made quite a mess of your restaurant, and you’ll have to find someone to clean up later. We’re really sorry about that."
This wasn’t just Huo Sining being polite; after drinking, some of those guys had thrown up nearby, making the floor and even the sofa benches in the restaurant dirty, which made Huo Sining feel quite apologetic.
However, the tip she gave was indeed substantial, several thousand yuan. Seeing Huo Sining pay so generously, the owner was naturally pleased and didn’t hold any grudge about the mess, instead smiling and saying:
"Ah, that’s nothing; it’s common in the restaurant business, we’re used to it. Young lady, do your companions need help arranging a place to stay next?"
Huo Sining was taken aback, then realized that these guys were all drunk, and couldn’t possibly return to the base today, or they’d definitely get punished even if they made it back.
Huo Sining exchanged a glance with Wu Jun and then nodded, saying:
"There are quite a few of us, so we’re not sure if there’s enough room."
The owner laughed, "Don’t worry about that. It’s the off-season now, and this is a small place, so there’s plenty of space to stay. It might not be as nice as the hotels in big cities, though."
Huo Sining had already experienced that; they stayed in a small inn in this town just last night, so she was aware of the local conditions and wasn’t too concerned about what the owner said.
This group of people had seen their fair share of tough conditions. A slightly shabby inn was nothing. Even if they were left in the primitive jungle, they could still eat and sleep just fine.
"That’s no problem. Boss, please help us arrange it."
The owner agreed with a smile, hurrying off to make some calls.
Just a few minutes later, someone came rushing from outside, pushed the door open, and entered:
"Old Li, where are the guests you mentioned?"
The restaurant owner quickly pointed to the group lying around behind Huo Sining. The middle-aged man who entered was taken aback by such an odd bunch of drunks.
But his expression soon returned to normal, and he hesitantly said, "All of these?"
Wu Jun strode forward and asked in the local dialect, "Hello, are you the owner of the inn?"
The owner, hearing Wu Jun speak the local dialect fluently, assumed he was a local, so he responded in dialect:
"Yes, I’m the owner. I’ve got plenty of rooms in my inn, but if your friends break something or make a mess in the rooms after getting drunk, there will be extra charges."
Wu Jun nodded with a smile, "You can rest assured on that point. If anything like that happens, we’ll compensate for your loss at market price."
The owner glanced at the outfits of Wu Jun and Huo Sining’s group, noticing they didn’t seem like those who lacked money. Coupled with Old Li mentioning he had earned a substantial amount from them today, he felt confident and nodded, saying,
"Alright, let’s have them stay at my place. It’s not far, just two or three hundred meters away. But how do you plan to get them there?"
Wu Jun looked at the owner and asked, "Do you know how to drive?"
The owner was taken aback, then nodded his head indicating that he could.
Wu Jun directly fished a Jeep key out of Yu Fei and his buddies’ hands and tossed it to the owner:
"Just drive them over, and if you could lend a hand getting them into the car, that would be a great help."
With money on the line, the customer is king, so lending a hand and driving was no big deal, and the owner readily agreed.
However, when he had gotten everyone into the car and jumped into the driver’s seat of a big truck, inserting the key, he finally saw what kind of vehicle Wu Jun had him driving.
Dang, this car... a Red Flag Brand?! Might this be an off-road military vehicle?!
The owner was a bit dumbfounded. Looking at the car key in his hand and feeling the accessories inside the cabin, his heart rate quickened as blood rushed to his head, and he felt hot all over.
This was when he finally understood why, when helping those drunks into the car, he noticed they were all burly with bulging muscles.
So they really are a bunch of soldiers?!
Darn, am I driving a military off-road vehicle?
The owner was thrilled. Seeing Wu Jun already start up another Jeep and preparing to head to their inn, his expression stiffened for a moment. Snapping back to reality, he quickly followed.
The few hundred meters have never felt so short to this owner, as he hadn’t even gotten a feel for the steering wheel when, after a tap on the gas pedal, they had already arrived.
He hadn’t had enough fun driving, but there Wu Jun had already jumped out of his car and walked over, making it inappropriate for the owner to linger in the vehicle. He pulled out the key and got off, handing it back to Wu Jun.
But in his eyes, he clearly was not satisfied. For the first time in his life, he had touched such an unbelievably cool military vehicle, and the key thing was, this car was indeed amazing!
Just from pressing the gas pedal, he could feel the pure four-wheel drive power, and the sound alone felt different. A vehicle like this would surely be even more thrilling in mountainous terrain, right?
However, those thoughts could only remain in his mind. What use was there in a nice car like this? It wasn’t meant for ordinary folks like him. Who among the regular people could have or could use such a car?
