Chapter 2493 - 2396: No Grievance, No Hatred
Chapter 2493: Chapter 2396: No Grievance, No Hatred
But facing the dark muzzle, no one can remain calm. Moreover, just a minute ago, they witnessed this toy-like handgun shoot and kill one of their companions.
Seeing the guy beside them clutching his knees in pain, the two underlings grabbed by Brother De as shields turned pale as paper, trembling uncontrollably, and collectively looked at Huo Sining with pleading eyes, hoping she would spare their lives out of pity.
But are these people pitiful?
Huo Sining didn’t think so.
If she didn’t have this deadly weapon in her hand, if Wu Jun didn’t have extraordinary skills, the situation would be completely reversed.
She and Wu Jun would probably have become their playthings, with these thugs being the butcher and they being the meat, only to be toyed with at will.
Even though these guys were just underlings of Lei De, they might not be doing this merely to satisfy their own desires, using Lei De’s reputation to flaunt their power and commit crimes.
In places unknown to Huo Sining, who knows how many crimes these people have committed, so they are not innocent at all, and could even be considered Lei De’s accomplices.
Huo Sining glanced indifferently at Lei De hiding behind the two underlings, feeling a bit disdainful inside.
It’s incredible that such a timid coward could become a local tyrant.
Isn’t he supposed to be ruthless and feared at the mention of his name?
This coward dares call himself a local tyrant? Don’t insult the term ’local tyrant’.
Huo Sining thought, even if Brother De was the worst, he should be a tough guy, unflinching in the face of a gun pointed at him, and calmly messing with her, Huo Sining.
If that were the case, Huo Sining might have looked up to this guy a bit, but now?
Huo Sining couldn’t help but want to laugh; dealing with this trash was really a waste of her time and bullets.
"Life for a life? What a joke, hasn’t Lei Boss had many deaths under his hand and still lived well?"
Huo Sining said casually.
On the side, Wu Jun snorted dismissively, "I’ve killed quite a few people in my life, but no one asked me to pay with my life!"
Wu Jun wasn’t lying at all. He had participated in countless S-Level Missions and killed numerous enemies. In the last mission alone, he had killed five deserving death drug lords barehanded, not to mention the countless vicious terrorists he had taken down.
Yet, the dialogue between Huo Sining and Wu Jun, which sounded like a two-person act, had a different implication for Lei De.
Lei De felt a chill run down his spine, and the first thought that crossed his mind was:
Shit, these two are tough cookies. Could they be outlaws? Male and female killers? I haven’t heard of these wanted criminals nationally, so how did they end up in Yun Province, and why did I have the misfortune of running into them?
Lei De cursed silently, as Xiakan Village was never known for producing such ruthless characters. The only one, supposedly a special forces guy, was rumored to be court-martialed for murder and forced to retire, ultimately exterminated, and never returned home.
Lei De racked his brain, trying to figure out where these two vicious characters came from, but no amount of thinking could reveal their origin.
Lei De had no idea he almost had the answer. Yes, the person in front of him was the special forces guy he thought would never return home, but he couldn’t fathom why this person stood before him now.
Just then, Huo Sining slightly turned the hand holding the gun, sweeping the muzzle across the black-clad men at the doorway one by one.
Those thugs seemed fierce and fearless, but once faced with Huo Sining’s gun, they immediately ducked aside in fear.
If not for fearing Lei De’s residual prestige and worrying that rash actions might provoke the woman in front, they might all have panicked and fled.
Huo Sining loudly called out to the group of men:
"Step back a bit, it’s so crowded the air feels polluted, are you trying to suffocate me?"
With Huo Sining’s words, the thugs reacted as if given an imperial edict, hastily retreating, wishing to escape as far as possible.
A large area in the courtyard cleared instantly, with Lei De also stepping back several paces, pulling two human shields in front of him. He stared intently at Huo Sining’s gun, hesitated for a moment before asking:
"Young girl, we’ve had no interactions or enmities before, right? You two coming to my tea garden to cause trouble is clearly your fault, isn’t it?"
Attempting an emotional appeal, Huo Sining didn’t respond, but sneered:
"You’re wrong on that. Who said we don’t have a grudge? Desecrating one’s ancestral grave is a mortal feud. If someone desecrated the graves of your parents, could you let it go?"
Startled by her words, Lei De instinctively retorted:
"How is that possible? I don’t even know you, why would I desecrate your ancestors’ graves? You must be mistaken?"
Wu Jun sneered coldly: "Whether there’s a mistake, I’m not sure. But isn’t this tea garden part of Lei Boss’s property? My parents’ graves were buried in that tea garden. Now the graves are gone, and so are my parents’ remains. Lei Boss, how do we settle this?"
Lei De finally understood, eyeing Wu Jun and Huo Sining with uncertainty:
"Are you...from Xiakan Village?"
Only residents of Xiakan Village would bury their ancestors in this tea garden, but why didn’t his records include these two people? What were those relocation guys doing to leave such a huge hidden danger? Is this trying to get him killed?
Sure enough, Wu Jun candidly admitted:
"What if we are? Lei Boss, just tell us how to handle this matter?"
Lei De’s face turned green and white; he couldn’t think of a solution for a while.
If someone had desecrated his family’s graves, he’d ensure they wouldn’t see the next day’s sun, regardless of any reasoning.
But now that it concerned him, with him as the perpetrator, he was at fault, making it difficult to manage. He couldn’t just say, ’a life for a life, go desecrate my family’s graves too’?
Seeing Lei De’s hesitation, Huo Sining snorted coldly, leisurely saying:
"I seem to recall someone wanted to kill us and claimed responsibility for it. Lei Boss, it was your underlings we beat, and now we’re standing in front of you. How do you plan to kill us?"
