Chapter 1917: Chapter 1915: Awakened (Part 2)
Especially Grandpa and Luo Fan.
Ever since she fell in love with Luo Ye, she treated them as her own family, because she was an orphan; her few relatives disappeared after they had taken away the family property.
She grew up in an orphanage, and due to her background and experiences, she couldn’t even find someone to adopt her, so she treasured every day at the Luo Family and valued everyone there, which is why she was always tolerant of Luo Ye’s mother.
All her thoughts were focused on Luo Ye. Now, after waiting patiently, Luo Ye finally woke up. She suddenly covered her face as tears surged out again.
Luo Ye’s gaze fell on his wife, and he couldn’t help but feel deeply moved. How much time had passed?
Why did Yezi seem to have aged somewhat, and she had lost weight? How could she be this thin...
However, this was the hospital room, and there were many other people around, so even if he had countless things to say, he held back. He quickly understood the situation before him; he had been in a car accident, though his life was saved, he was in a coma; he did not know for how long.
Meanwhile, Thomas adopted his meticulous demeanor as a doctor, seemingly setting aside the bet with Gu Qiaoqiao and his arrogance, and began the examination seriously. After a series of detailed tests, doubt and shock flickered in his eyes, but he still spoke solemnly to Old Mr. Luo, "Old Mr. Luo, Luo Ye’s physical condition is completely normal."
Old Mr. Luo didn’t appear surprised but joyfully nodded. Luo Fan asked some routine precautions. At this moment, Thomas looked at Luo Ye with a very complex gaze but had to say, "Given the current condition of the patient, there is no need for medication; good recuperation will suffice."
Before Old Mr. Luo could ask whether Luo Ye could stand up, Gu Qiaoqiao cheerfully said, "Grandpa Luo, you can try letting him walk now."
For patients like Luo Ye, having just awoken, he might not fully grasp the concept of walking, and he had been lying down for a long time, so his legs might not function properly. If he couldn’t walk, Thomas could handle it better since he was more professional than she was; but if Thomas couldn’t deal with it, she would need to intervene again.
Old Mr. Luo enthusiastically nodded, "Yes, yes."
He instructed Luo Fan nearby, "Luo Fan, you and your sister-in-law help your brother up, see if he can walk."
Luo Ye, lying on the hospital bed, knew there weren’t any issues with his body even before the doctor confirmed it. Yet, there was another problem awaiting him, and then he was helped up by his brother and wife.
He took a deep breath, not knowing why the atmosphere of this room was exceptionally comforting, more like a nursing home than a hospital room. As he inhaled deeply, he felt strength fill his limbs and extremities bit by bit.
He was unaware that Gu Qiaoqiao used her finger to channel a stream of spiritual energy into his body, but Gu Qiaoqiao didn’t need others to know what she was doing.
Then, as Luo Ye’s feet touched the ground, his body weakened, but the two next to him held him up. Gu Qiaoqiao smiled and said, "You don’t need to support him."
She looked at Luo Ye, "Brother Luo Ye, there’s no problem with your body, you can walk, but since you’ve been lying down for so long, you might be unaccustomed; once you take the first step, you’ll be fine."
Luo Ye looked at Gu Qiaoqiao with a puzzled expression; he didn’t recognize her. Just then, Luo Fan whispered a few words to him, and afterward, Luo Ye gazed at her and Qin Yize with gratitude.
Gu Qiaoqiao and Qin Yize heard clearly. Luo Fan explained in a low voice to his brother that she and Qin Yize were their grandfather’s lifesavers.
Old Mr. Luo then spoke to encourage him, "Ah Ye, it’s okay, you have been in a coma for five years; Qiaoqiao woke you up with acupuncture. If she says you’re fine, then you must be fine. Step forward and show Grandpa."
This time, Luo Ye’s gaze carried no doubt anymore. Being born into such a prominent family, he had witnessed extraordinary things from a young age—what others didn’t know, they knew; what others hadn’t experienced, they had. Naturally, his mind was different from others, not to mention he was inherently intelligent.
However, he had always disliked family business, unlike Luo Fan, who was innately gifted in commerce, opting for scientific research instead, while Luo Fan chose to inherit the family business.
Before the car accident, Luo Ye was the project leader of a scientific research initiative.
His sudden accident and subsequent coma led to a change in leadership for that project, but reportedly, little progress had been made; many core technologies were in his hands, but without him awake, there was nothing anyone could do. Now that he was awake, those seeking him would likely come soon.
Of course, this was for later, and it would be Luo Ye’s own business. His current task was to shrug off the two supporting him and take that step forward on his own.
Taking another deep breath, Luo Fan and Su Ye released their hold, although Su Ye was more worried and watched her husband as if holding her breath, her hand ready to assist at a moment’s notice.
Then, after steadying himself, Luo Ye successfully took the first step, followed by the second. After walking two laps around the room, Gu Qiaoqiao stopped him, as Thomas still needed to conduct an examination.
Once Luo Ye’s physical functions were confirmed to be in normal condition, Gu Qiaoqiao informed Old Mr. Luo, "Grandpa Luo, Brother Luo Ye is okay now."
When Gu Qiaoqiao said he was fine, it meant Luo Ye was just like any other normal person.
This was the best news they could have asked for.
Thomas told his assistants and nurses to leave, and with his hands in the pockets of his white coat, his expression lost its arrogance and pride as he looked at Gu Qiaoqiao with complex emotions.
His hand clenched slightly. He couldn’t understand the words of this Chinese medicine doctor, but by observing the situation, he could grasp her meaning. Luo Ye was now awake and able to walk without the need for medication or injections.
So in medical terms, Luo Ye, who had been ninety-nine per cent declared a lifelong vegetative patient, suddenly restored to normal, all thanks to this Chinese medicine doctor.
His gaze fell on the delicately designed box on the table, eyes full of eagerness and shock.
Could it truly be so miraculous?
Is Chinese medicine really this powerful?
