Gu Qiaoqiao stepped back slightly, and with a casual wave of her hand, the bridge of light formed by spiritual energy vanished.
However, the room was filled with spiritual energy, creating a comfortable atmosphere. Even the potted plants on the window sill stretched their leaves energetically, eagerly absorbing the rare spiritual energy in the air.
Anyone witnessing this scene would surely be astounded.
Because one of the plants, which previously had only one bud, bloomed suddenly.
Layer upon layer, the petals were golden, and the air carried a faint floral fragrance.
Gu Qiaoqiao gave a gentle smile to Qin Yize, then pointed at Luo Ye, "Ah Ze, he has awakened."
No sooner had Gu Qiaoqiao spoken than Luo Ye, who had been in a coma for five years, twitched his eyelashes and began to slowly, as if in slow motion, open his eyes.
Initially, his pupils were frozen, fixed in one spot, perhaps because the light orb and his body hadn’t fully aligned; after all, his soul had left him for five years, so it was normal for the return to feel strange.
That was what Gu Qiaoqiao thought, anyhow.
She was reassured when she waved her hand in front of Luo Ye’s eyes, and his pupils followed her fingers, indicating the alignment was close and that with the abundant spiritual energy in the room, a week should resolve any remaining issues.
Qin Yize also approached, having never seen Luo Ye before, only knowing about him. Seeing his eyes open, Qin Yize noticed his pupils were exceptionally dark, likely due to just waking, and his gaze was both clear and bewildered.
He seemed yet to react from his state, vaguely recalling a stormy night when he got a call from his mother, then swerved to avoid an oncoming car and crashed down a hillside.
He had that accident, but what’s happening now?
Could it be he didn’t die?
No, his memory wasn’t like this.
But then again, what was in his memory?
At the moment, his mind was unable to think, feeling rather blank.
Gu Qiaoqiao studied his expression closely, feeling assured that at least he hadn’t lost memory or turned into a vegetable.
She knew Elder Luo and his group were anxiously waiting by the door, so she quickly opened the room’s door. Sure enough, Elder Luo and Luo Fan’s eyes were filled with indescribable eagerness, and Su Ye was even more anxious, eyes wide and unblinking, as if blinking would make Gu Qiaoqiao disappear.
Gu Qiaoqiao smiled gently, pointing into the room, "Grandpa Luo, Brother Luo Ye has awakened."
This simple sentence, though only a few words, sounded like a divine melody. Elder Luo dropped his cane and hurried into the room, naturally followed by Luo Fan and then Gu Qianqian.
Su Ye ran the fastest, practically the first to rush in.
And immediately saw Luo Ye, her lover, with open eyes on the hospital bed.
At that moment, Su Ye’s tears flowed like a spring, taking one step at a time, afraid that rushing might make the scene vanish like a dream.
Qin Yize stepped back a few paces, leaving space at the bedside for Luo Ye’s family.
Thomas had naturally been at the door, unable to understand Gu Qiaoqiao’s earlier words, with no one to translate for him. Still, he saw the young Chinese Medicine Doctor smile and watched three people eagerly rush into the room, so he followed suit and naturally witnessed Luo Ye, already awake, hoarsely calling out each word to his family, "...Grand...pa, Ye...zi...Ah Fan..."
Awake.
Truly awake!
Just this morning, tests indicated this person showed no sign of waking, yet now he indeed opened his eyes.
Thomas’s feet felt glued to the floor, his expression full of disbelief, amazement, and endless shock.
All eyes were on Luo Ye, but he involuntarily turned with a startled look towards the woman standing beside the tall, handsome man.
She looked unchanged, her demeanor calm and composed, as if everything was under her control, just as she had spoken to him with immense confidence and strength earlier.
Thomas’s heart was pounding.
Impossible, completely impossible!
It must be fake, surely it’s fake.
Childishly, he pinched his thigh hard, feeling real pain that told him all this was no dream.
His patient, almost declared dead, was now awake, rendering all he had previously said ridiculous.
Though varied, the room’s atmosphere now was comforting, even calming Thomas bit by bit; his expression darkened, but after a deep look at Gu Qiaoqiao, he moved toward the bedside.
Gu Qiaoqiao was only responsible for awakening Luo Ye. Any further medical examinations were not her concern.
Thomas maintained a bit of clarity while Elder Luo urgently said, "Thomas, call the doctor, get other doctors to check Ah Ye..."
Thomas nodded heavily but did not act immediately, instead conducting his examination of Luo Ye, confirming he was indeed awake, not an accidental event.
Only then did he summon his students and assistants. Elder Luo, supported by Luo Fan, sat on a sofa, while the Luo Family’s gloom lifted, replaced by cheerful expressions.
Though Su Ye’s eyes were swollen, her heart was floating in a sea of happiness.
Five years, and no one knew how she endured them, with her mother-in-law directing all her scorn at her, publicly calling her a jinx and blaming her for her parents’ and then her husband’s misfortunes, labeling her as bad luck.
Su Ye put up with it because this woman was her beloved’s mother.
More importantly, the man she loved lay on a hospital bed, life uncertain, leaving her with no will to argue with this unreasonable, ill-bred woman.
She’d never stoop to such actions, nor would her education and upbringing permit it, plus, aside from her, the Luo Family treated her exceptionally well.
