Gu Zhao looked over as well and saw a dozen or so white wolves charging toward them.
The lead wolf had a stark scar running diagonally across its right eye, from the brow bone to the cheekbone. They quickly ran over and surrounded the group.
"Little Xiangtuan, step aside." The one-eyed wolf, One-eye, didn’t attack, merely encircling them. Its good eye gazed gently at Gu Zhao.
Gu Xulin immediately shielded Gu Zhao, warily eying the wolf pack. ’Any wolf that doesn’t even spare she-wolves and cubs can’t be good news!’
’What if they see how cute my sister is and just snatch her away?!’
He was on high alert.
Gu Zhao looked at One-eye. "Why did you harm the cubs and the she-wolf?"

Gu Zhao fell silent. She wanted to save them, but the consequence would be that they would still fight and kill each other one day. Even more wolves might die.
The Snow Wolf sensed Gu Zhao’s dilemma. He walked to her side and nuzzled his head against her small hand.

A soft, milky little voice came from not far away.
Gu Zhao’s group and One-eye’s pack all looked over. They saw a little gray wolf cub struggling to push its way out from under the snow.
