Chapter 103: My Love Language is Payback
Chapter 103: Chapter 103: My Love Language is Payback
The rats all looked so pitiful.
But Gu Zhao couldn’t hear them. She stared at them blankly, but she didn’t dare take off her earplugs.
’I don’t want to faint on the spot, or have my head explode!’
The rats were so noisy that even the Tibetan Mastiff’s head was buzzing. It shook its head, trying to fling the sounds out of its brain.
"I’ll take you to a villa. You can go inside and play!" Gu Zhao didn’t care whether the rats understood or not; she just led the Tibetan Mastiff into the villa complex.
Taking advantage of their small size, the rats scattered and took shortcuts to catch up.
Gu Zhao didn’t stop until she reached a familiar villa.
She looked up at the villa, and a sudden pang of anguish, a mix of confusion and grievance, struck her heart.
Gu Zhao rubbed her chest. "They’ve made me so angry my heart aches. The wretched Ye Family."
The Ye Family’s villa was silent.
Ye Zuiyi was sleeping soundly. Only Ye Zexi remained kneeling in the living room, drowsing off.
Outside, Gu Zhao dodged the security cameras and squatted in a corner, facing a dense crowd of rats sitting upright and orderly.
"Go on in and have a blast. Eat and drink your fill—don’t be polite."
The rats nodded.
’Big Sister is the best~’
"Go on. Eat and drink your fill," Gu Zhao said with a wave.
The rat army charged straight into the villa. Some climbed through windows, some burrowed under, some navigated the sewers, and others started chewing holes directly through the walls.
With the rats gone, the Tibetan Mastiff’s head was finally quiet.
Seeing the Tibetan Mastiff was no longer in distress, Gu Zhao took out her earplugs and stuffed them back in her pocket.
Upon entering the Ye Family’s home, the rats made a beeline for the kitchen and began to turn the place upside down.
The kitchen was soon a complete disaster zone.
The noise jolted Ye Zexi awake. He lifted his head, his eyes heavy with sleep, and glanced around. His gaze locked with that of a rat standing on the table.
The rat flashed what it considered a friendly smile.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
A piercing scream shattered the tranquility of the villa.
It was followed by one scream after another.
The rats had already invaded every corner of the villa.
Ye Zuiyi was jolted awake by the screams, only to find a rat on her bed that seemed to want to snuggle up with her.
She screamed.
The rat squeaked back.
Her screams brought no one. The rat’s squeaks brought a whole horde of rats.
Ye Jincheng was awakened by the two sets of screams. Annoyed, he kept his eyes shut and reached for something to throw to vent his frustration.
But instead of his phone, his hand closed around something fluffy, soft, and a bit damp.
He irritably opened his eyes and saw the filthy rat in his hand, covered in grease and flour.
He flung it away. The rat slammed against the wall and fell to the floor, struggling for a few seconds without being able to get up.
It let out a squeal.
Soon, several other rats ran over, saw its condition, and immediately launched an attack on Ye Jincheng.
With their agile little bodies and superior numbers, they managed to bite Ye Jincheng several times.
Father Ye and Ye’s mother were jolted awake by the pain of rats gnawing on their feet. Upon seeing her own bloody, mangled feet, Ye’s mother fainted on the spot.
Father Ye’s feet weren’t in much better shape. He picked up his unconscious wife and ran downstairs.
People were already downstairs; the butler and maids were trying to drive the rats away, but to no avail.
Ye Jincheng came downstairs as well, his pajamas stained with blood.
Father Ye gave him a pained look.
Ye Zuiyi also came downstairs, covered in injuries. Ye Zexi rushed over and swept her into his arms.
They all fled the villa in a panic.
The rats even ran to the doorway to see them off. After confirming the villa was empty, a group of rats shut the main door right in their faces.
"This is insane! Truly insane!" The maids had never witnessed such a scene.
They were all dumbfounded.
That night, the entire Ye Family ended up in the hospital.
The neighbors, woken by the commotion, came out to investigate. They were stunned to see the villa overrun by rats and the Ye Family driven out into the street.
One of the younger neighbors wrote up a post and put it online. The internet, still buzzing about the Water Ghost and Water Dog drama, now had some hot new "rat-gate" gossip to enjoy.
##RatKingdomBulliesHumans##
It instantly started trending. While it wasn’t at the top of the list, it still caught a lot of attention.
The poster had also attached a photo: the Ye Family standing outside their villa while a pyramid of rats worked together to close the door.
[Talk about an eye-opener. Rats evolving to kick humans out of their own homes.]
[Holy smokes, by golly, by gosh! My brain’s turned to applesauce! Who ever saw a stack of rats being the boss?!]
[That girl in the picture is Ye Zuiyi, right? And Ye Zexi.]
[Oh my god, it really is them. So it was *their* house where the rats evolved.]
When Gu Xulin found Gu Zhao, she was sprawled in the shrubbery, talking to a rat.
"’Big Sister~ This house has so much good food and fun stuff! Do you want to come play with us?’ the rat asked, inviting Gu Zhao with a bashful look."
’I can’t go in there,’ Gu Zhao thought. ’If I do, it’ll be breaking and entering.’
’Can’t do that.’
"I’ll pass. I’m happy as long as you all are having fun."
The rat was touched. Everyone hated them, but Big Sister not only invited them to play, she even cared about their happiness.
"Gu Xiao Zhao!" Gu Xulin said through gritted teeth.
’I can’t believe I missed my chance to ambush her! And she didn’t even think to invite me to watch!’
Hearing his voice, Gu Zhao’s face instantly broke into a brilliant smile. "Brother! What brings you here? Are you stargazing, too?"
Gu Xulin looked up. The sky was overcast, without a single star in sight.
"It’s named Star!" Gu Zhao glanced at the sky, then quickly pointed at the rat.
The rat thought, ’Me?’
"’Big Sister, my name is Sergeant Black Cat,’ the rat explained, aggrieved. ’Star must be the name of some no-good street rat!’"
’I’d better not run into her! Or I’ll bite her tail off!’
Gu Zhao was baffled. ’???’
’My ears must be playing tricks on me.’
Gu Xulin had no idea what the rat said. He just looked at Gu Zhao with a helpless expression.
"So, tell me. How did you get your revenge?"
Gu Zhao said, disgruntled, "Brother, how can you call it revenge? It’s more like... a friendly reminder."
’What else could Gu Xulin do but spoil her?’
He scooped the filthy Gu Zhao up with one arm and pulled out his phone with his free hand to call their second brother to come clean up the mess.
Gu Yunqi answered the phone, expressionless. Expressionless, he ordered his people to handle the traces they’d left behind.
Then, still expressionless, he messaged Gu Xulin’s agent: "Assign him more work. He’s too idle."
The agent, jolted awake, saw the message was from their golden goose and immediately replied: "Roger that! I’ll book him for a hundred-odd gigs right now!"
Gu Yunqi was satisfied. But then he remembered that their eldest brother was still asleep, and his mood soured again.
Uncle Fu, unable to sleep until Gu Zhao returned, was pacing back and forth in the living room.
"’Go prepare some fireworks. We’ll set them off in a bit,’ Gu Yunqi messaged Uncle Fu."
Uncle Fu was baffled but guessed it was for a welcome party for the young miss, so he happily went off to buy them.
On the way back, Gu Xulin drove Gu Zhao past the small river again.
Unlike before, the riverbank was now surrounded by a crowd.
Everyone had their phones out, either live-streaming or filming.
Gu Xulin was surprised. "What’s going on here?"
Gu Zhao was baffled too. ’It was fine when we swam across earlier.’
’Oh, wait! I think someone shouted ’ghost’!’
"’Brother, let’s go check it out!’ Gu Zhao said excitedly."
’That person startled me back then. He ran, which made me want to run, and I regretted it as soon as I was gone!’
’Why
