Chapter 6691: Kill Them All
“That little beast is full of tricks. He might not have completed his linkway, but its quality is above mine. I can’t help but feel that he’s up to something,” Jie Tianran voiced his worry.
“Yes, that grandson of yours is a sly one. We have to remain guarded against him. However, there’s no point worrying when you can’t even find anything amiss. You should focus on what’s at hand instead,” the old entity advised.
In truth, he was worried as well. Both of them had suffered setbacks in Chu Feng’s hands.
Boom!
A loud explosion suddenly rattled the world of cultivation.
It was particularly deafening to Jie Tianran, and it rattled even his linkway. He quickly looked over and saw Chu Feng’s steps and linkway collapsing. His face immediately lit up in glee.
“Big brother...”
Over in the Chu Clan Alliance, Zi Ling, Little Fishy, and the others couldn’t believe their eyes.
“Oh no...”
Even Fei was dumbstruck.
Even though they had been worried, none of them thought that Chu Feng would really fail. This outcome was beyond their expectations.
...
In the Nine Souls Galaxy, Song Changsheng revealed a rare hint of disbelief.
“What happened? Was young friend Chu Feng too anxious? But that shouldn’t be. That isn’t like him,” Song Changsheng murmured, but he was unable to make sense of the situation.
In the end, he sighed. “As expected of the legendary God’s Era. If even young friend Chu Feng has failed, I doubt that anyone can succeed in it.”
He doubted that Jie Tianran would succeed for a simple reason. Not even powerhouses in the Ancient Era had been able to claim that power. In his view, the only one who had a shot at success was Chu Feng.
If Chu Feng couldn’t do it, no one else could.
...
Over at the Bloodline Galaxy, Chen Hui was still bathing in a pool.
He had stopped howling, and his body had fully recovered, though his complexion remained pale. It wasn’t because he was injured or weakened; rather, it felt like something had changed inside him. His body felt empty, and something was required to fill it up.
Dongfang Hansong had been observing God’s Era. When he saw Chu Feng’s linkway collapse, he revealed a gloating smirk.
“That’s all you amount to, Chu Feng.”
...
Meanwhile, Chu Feng was feeling conflicted.
He had rarely lost in any competitions. To think that he would fail at one as crucial at this.
“Did I choose wrongly?”
Chu Feng took out his sword key, thinking that he might be able to catch up with Jie Tianran if he entered the third gate now.
To his dismay, he couldn’t enter God’s Era from where he currently was. He needed to get closer to God’s Era first, perhaps even closer than where Jie Tianran had entered from.
Just then, the third gate channeled a surge of energy into Jie Tianran’s body, causing him to accelerate rapidly. The journey should have taken him much longer, but in the blink of an eye, he had already reached the top.
Jie Tianran was now standing on top of God’s Era’s humongous silhouette, below the platform where the golden throne was.
Just then, God’s Era’s silhouette moved.
The world of cultivation quaked.
The humongous silhouette formed a hand seal as if cultivating.
Incredible energy appeared within the silhouette and converged at the head, toward Jie Tianran. The light produced was so brilliant that it engulfed many realms; it was a sight more majestic than any phenomenon.
And Jie Tianran was the cause of it.
Light flowed around Jie Tianran like a sacred halo. At this moment, he seemed to have become a part of God’s Era.
This phenomenon didn’t last long.
Jie Tianran, still carrying a trace of lingering light, slowly raised his hand to feel the energy coursing through him. His wrinkled face no longer reflected unease but absolute confidence.
His bloodline had been strengthened.
He had obtained heaven-defying battle power capable of surmounting a cultivation rank. Despite still being at rank five Heavenly Dragon World Spiritist, he could now stand his ground against rank seven Heavenly Gods.
On top of that, his spirit power was far more condensed than before. He was confident that he could fight off multiple rank seven Heavenly Gods in his current state.
More importantly, he was the only one who wielded such power in the present world of cultivation. He was unmatched now.
“I won, Chu Feng.” Jie Tianran regained his past confidence.
“You sound certain,” the old entity inside him remarked.
“My connection with God’s Era has deepened. I can sense a stronger power in that golden throne, and I can also sense the location of Chu Feng’s sword key. That little bastard is no longer in God’s Era,” Jie Tianran replied.
“Oh? It sounds like he has really failed.”
“Of course.” Jie Tianran smirked in glee.
He felt like the stress that had accumulated in him recently had all been released.
...
“Chu Feng, did your grandfather succeed?” Eggy asked.
“He hasn’t obtained God’s Era’s final power yet, but he received some benefits from it,” Chu Feng replied. “Hm?”
Just then, Chu Feng noticed a light gleaming in the distance. It was coming from the Bloodline Galaxy. He quickly used his observation means to take a closer look.
It was coming from the phenomenon.
The phenomenon had stopped contracting, but a gate had appeared in it. It seemed to be the entrance into the phenomenon, and it looked like it would open at any moment.
Chu Feng quickly stowed away the sword key.
Jie Tianran had already claimed the upper hand in God’s Era. Even if Chu Feng entered the third gate right now, it was unlikely that he would make it in time.
Furthermore, the land where his friends and kin were was on the verge of opening, and enemies were camping right outside. There was no way he could turn a blind eye to that.
Without any hesitation, he made his way toward the phenomenon.
Given the rate at which the blue aura was dissipating, his cultivation should recede to rank seven or rank six Heavenly God level by the time he reached the Bloodline Galaxy. That was more than enough to deal with the Netherworld Sect.
And he planned to slaughter them all.
