Marrying a White Snake Wife is Super Cool

Chapter 528 - 289: Snake Woman vs. Hidden Immortal

Chapter 528: Chapter 289: Snake Woman vs. Hidden Immortal

Daoist Longchuan was sitting upright, but his body couldn’t help but tremble at the mere sound of Su Liyan’s voice.

Daoist Quanyi looked at his disciple. ’It seems this woman has bullied my student before.’

Lu Yuan quickly grabbed his wife’s hand. "Honey, you need to be more polite. You can’t act like this."

"But they’re trying to take my daughter from me! How can you expect me to be polite?" Su Liyan said, looking utterly wronged.

"We can talk this out," Lu Yuan soothed. He knew Daoist Quanyi was no ordinary man; it would be unwise to make an enemy of him.

As they bickered, Lu Yuan and Su Liyan walked up to the two Daoists.

Without a word of greeting, Su Liyan rolled up her sleeves, hiked up her long skirt, and said furiously:

"Old man, you wanted to spar, didn’t you? Let’s take it to the courtyard and settle this."

Lu Yuan tugged at Su Liyan’s sleeve. ’I’ve already lost control of her.’

’I just hope they keep it friendly.’

In the manor’s main courtyard, a bitter northwest wind howled, rattling the withered branches.

An old Daoist clad in a navy blue robe stood with his hands clasped behind his back. Facing him was the graceful and stunning Su Liyan.

Lu Yuan and the others stood under the eaves, watching the impending battle.

Gu Ziye, holding the one-year-old Lu Ruyan, stood beside Lu Yuan. "Lu Yuan," she asked, "what’s going on? The air is so tense this early in the morning."

Facing the man known as the "Hidden Immortal," Daoist Quanyi, Lu Yuan couldn’t help but feel a twinge of anxiety for his wife. He said:

"Yue’Er, it’s a long story. For now, just watch. I’ll explain everything later."

"Oh, okay, Lu Yuan." Though Gu Ziye was usually playful and mischievous, she was sensible and perceptive when it mattered.

Gu Ziye shouted toward Su Liyan, "Go, Sister Su!"

"Mama, go!" Lu Ruyan mumbled around the pacifier in her mouth, echoing Gu Ziye.

Despite growing so quickly, Lu Ruyan still had a craving for milk.

They hadn’t brought a wet nurse on this trip, so she was on goat’s milk instead, and she hadn’t missed a single one of her three daily feedings.

Daoist Quanyi flicked his duster and said calmly, "Young lady, I’m your senior by eight or nine decades. How about I grant you the first ten moves? Go on, young lady. Attack whenever you’re ready."

In all her life, no one who knew of Su Liyan’s true strength had ever dared to treat her with such contempt.

Su Liyan’s expression darkened. Her red lips parted. "I don’t need them!"

The words had barely left her lips when Su Liyan lunged forward, moving like a bolt of lightning. A Celestial Master Sword appeared in her hand, and she swung it out, the blade whistling viciously through the air.

Daoist Longchuan sidled up to Lu Yuan and muttered, "Lord Lu, you even gave your wife the Celestial Master Sword."

Lu Yuan rolled his eyes. "I can’t exactly let my wife fight your master bare-handed, can I?"

"Fair enough," Daoist Longchuan said with a nod and a smile.

Unflustered, Daoist Quanyi sidestepped the attack, sweeping his duster in a smooth motion. It became a streak of white light.

The streak of white light met the Celestial Master Sword in Su Liyan’s hand, producing a sharp, ringing clash.

Daoist Quanyi didn’t attack, only using his duster to defend. He was letting Su Liyan have her promised moves.

Su Liyan staggered back two steps. She knew at once that her opponent’s power was profound. ’This won’t be an easy victory.’

Lu Yuan turned to Daoist Longchuan. "If your master bullies my wife, don’t blame me for taking it out on you."

"Hey! How can you say that, Lord Lu? It’s not my fault," Daoist Longchuan said, shaking his head.

A grimace crossed Lu Yuan’s face. He said jokingly, "What can I do? I probably can’t beat him, so I’ll have to take my anger out on you."

Hearing this, Daoist Longchuan shouted to his master, "Master, please be merciful! We all have to see each other again!"

To Su Liyan, it didn’t sound like he was pleading her case. It sounded like he was looking down on her.

Su Liyan’s fury surged. Her attacks grew more frantic, unleashing Sword Qi with every strike.

Lu Yuan formed a series of hand signs, enclosing the section of the courtyard where Su Liyan and Daoist Quanyi were fighting within an Invisible Air Wall.

Waves of Sword Qi slammed against the Invisible Air Wall, protecting Lu Yuan and the others watching from under the eaves.

Daoist Longchuan couldn’t help but exclaim, "Lord Lu, that’s amazing! What technique is that? You have to teach me."

"Get back, get back! Don’t distract me while I’m maintaining the barrier!" Lu Yuan’s tone was clearly not as friendly as before.

Lu Yuan had to concentrate to ensure the Invisible Air Wall could withstand the shockwaves from their attacks.

Despite Su Liyan’s fierce assault, Daoist Quanyi remained perfectly composed, handling her attacks with ease.

"Hmph!"

Infuriated, Su Liyan let out a sharp cry. A brilliant white light flared around her as she instantly reverted to her ancestral form.

Her long, slender legs fused into a thick, powerful snake’s tail, and a formidable aura erupted from her body.

"That’s her!" Daoist Longchuan cried out.

Daoist Longchuan remembered that night he had been slapped twice, hard, by Su Liyan. Back then, he was only a Celestial Master.

Even now, as a cultivator at the Great Celestial Master Perfection Realm, Daoist Longchuan lacked the courage to face Su Liyan in her ancestral form.

’What Daoist Longchuan could never understand was how Lu Yuan could actually be attracted to a woman of the Half-demon Race.’

’A normal person would probably faint from fright at the sight of a human torso on a snake’s tail.’

’Only Lu Yuan was different. He’d actually gotten more excited at the sight and had even mated with her, producing a daughter.’

’And now their daughter had caught the eye of the hundred-something-year-old Daoist Quanyi, who was dead set on making her his disciple.’

’And here Daoist Longchuan had thought *he* was going to be Daoist Quanyi’s final disciple!’
