Time started passing in the Upper Realms as well, though way slowly compared to the Mortal Realm. Xiang Ling spent next two days on the Cultivation island as she trained her body to use the extra ten thousand years of divine energy she recieved.
Zhang Xuan remained by her side all the time, helping her in his own ways. When she cultivated, he played zither like the first day, and when she practiced spells or sword arts, he joined her.
On the other hand, time started passing in the Mortal Realm as well. An year passed quickly since Chen Xiang Ling’s death and most of her husbands left home except for Wei Guang and Li Xian. Unfortunately, the former fell ill right after a month of their wife’s loss and the latter wasn’t doing any better either.
The Chen family tried their best to look after the two Young Masters, but no physician was able to treat them as they none of them carried any medicine that could heal heartache.
Only a year and a half later, the Chen Manor once again held a funeral ceremony for the two Young Masters who passed away on the same night. People couldn’t help but feel pity for Chen Xiang Ling and her two husbands. Neither the Chen family nor the Dongzhi City ever heard from the other four Young Masters.
The time continued to pass and the Mortal Realm faced a couple more attacks from the Dark Force, but nothing that caused too much destruction as the Heavenly Army was working along with the Cultivation Sects to protect the Mortal Realm to the best of their ability.
On the other hand, Xiang Ling continued to practice on the empty island. It was not until the evening of the third day of her return to the Heavenly Realm, did she finally finished her cultivation and walked out of the Cultivation Island. If the situation wouldn’t have been so serious, she would have received a proper ceremony and a banquet for being promoted to the position of a High Immortal. But considering the state of the Five Realms, a celebration was the last thing the Upper Realms should be focusing on.
Hence, instead of heading to the Heavenly Palace, Xiang Ling headed to her own palace to rest for the night. It was not until she arrived at her place did she hear the palace fairies whispering about the return of some High Immortals.
"Whom are you talking about? Who else has returned from the Mortal Realm?" She asked the group of fairies who were whispering among themselves. As soon as they heard her, they all turned to face and greeted with deep bows.
"Welcome back, High Immortal Xing."
Xiang Ling quickly nodded her head to acknowledge their greetings before she repeated her question. "Whom were you just talking about?"
"High Immortal Xing, we were talking about Celestial King and His Highness the Crown Prince. They both returned to the Heavenly Realm this afternoon." One of the fairies answered her question.
Xiang Ling felt happiness filling her insides as she heard the news. It was almost impossible for her to hide the excitement from showing on her face or being reflected in her voice as she quickly asked, "Really? Where are they right now?"
"His Highness the Crown Prince has entered Nirvana once again, and the Celestial King has entered closed door cultivation." The fairy answered her question.
Hearing the current whereabouts of both the men, her excitement immediately disappeared. "Alright. Thank you." She thanked the fairy before she turned away and headed inside her palace. She should have known better than to believe that the Heavenly Empress would allow the men to meet her. She wasn’t sure exactly where she stood when it came to the most respected woman of the Five Realms.
But even if she had been allowed to meet the two men, she wasn’t sure exactly what she was going to do. Though both of them would have recieved the memories of their life tribulations, it didn’t mean their feelings for her were still same. The mortal Wei Guang and Li Xian were completely different from their Immortal forms. Yet, she kept forgetting it and kept mixing the two just because her heart wasn’t ready to accept the worst case scenario of their situation.
A long sigh escaped her lips as she stared at the night sky above. The night sky of the Celestial Realm was indeed the best. Millions of stars, meteors, and the moon shone brightly, surrounding the realm from all four directions. All kinds of celestial formations were seen from where she stood in the courtyard of her palace, staring at the mesmerizing view.
Feeling tempted to join her friends in the vast galaxy, she spread out her arms and allowed her divine energy to consume her completely. Within seconds, her body was surrounded by the beautiful blue glow of her divine energy and it soon turned her into a huge ball of powerful light that illuminated the entire courtyard before it started growing even bigger.
The very next moment, the ball of blue light shot into the sky and joined the other stars, glowing the brightest as its presence there announced the return of the Blue Star.
Throughout the night, the star kept shining brightly and was spotted by people of all Five Realms who hadn’t seen the auspicious star for a while. Throughout the night, the blue star received hundreds and thousands of prayers and wishes, and when Xiang Ling ended her duty with the first ray of morning light, she forwarded all the wishes to the Immortal of Blessings.
Tired after the long night of duty, Xiang Ling returned to her palace. Despite the tiredness, she was filled with joy after performing her duty like the old good days. She made her way through the familiar hallways and entered her bed-chamber. She was ready to take a break and have a good bath when she noticed the disturbance in the energy in her surroundings.
