Wu Tian was currently in his study, looking through the official documents he received from his father during the morning court. There had been some documents that were submitted to the Emperor couple of days ago, and each one of these documents carried information about the demonic activities in the Mortal Realm that had been noticed during the last ten or so months.
The Emperor had handed over these documents to Wu Tian and as the latter looked through them, he was surprised to notice that most of these activities either occurred in the Nanxia County or in its border areas. He was also surprised to find out that Chen Xiang Ling was involved in providing aid to the innocent mortals during some of these incidents.
He had already received information from his men whom he ordered to find out about Magistrate Chen and his link with Prime Minister Su if any. Surprisingly, there were only good things mentioned in the report about Magistrate Chen. He was an upright, loyal, and kind minister who had been surving Nanxia County for past twenty-five years. He had no record of corruption or any sort of crimes. Most importantly, there was no connection between him and Prime Minister Su.
On the other hand, the report about Chen Xiang Ling was completely opposite of her father’s. The more Wu Tian read about her personality and list of misconducts, the harder it became for him to believe the report. But if the report was telling the truth, he could see why Su LiangLin became close friends with Chen Xiang Ling. These two women were too similar to not be best friends.
Still, Wu Tian wasn’t one to judge anyone so quickly. Just based on the reports, he wasn’t going to believe that Magistrate Chen was as clean as mentioned. Similarly, he wasn’t going to believe everything that was written about Chen Xiang Ling.
After contemplating much on the matter, he finally formed a plan. He needed to investigate the demonic activities that were happening too often, and at the same time, he needed to investigate just what his wife had been plotting this time. Both these matters were of equal importance to him and carried equal amount of danger.
He was putting his seal on the document that was asking for permission to start the construction of a new port, when Eunuch Dao entered the study.
"Your Highness, Young Lady Chen is here. A maid has taken her to the main hall and I have asked someone to inform Her Highness." Eunuch Dao informed Wu Tian after greeting him formaly with a deep bow.
Wu Tian noticed how Eunuch Dao addressed Chen Xiang Ling as Young Lady and it reminded him reading about her being married to six men - another surprise he wasn’t quite ready for when he opened her report.
"Alright. Let’s go and meet our guest." He said while closing the document and standing up from the desk. Stepping out of the study, he headed toward the Main Hall with Eunuch Dao following right behind him.

"Nice to see you here... old friend."
Xiang Ling heard the familiar voice that belonged to Su LiangLin as the Crown Princess entered the Main Hall. Since Xiang Ling was planning to travel, she chose a simple yet elegant dark purple dress with a white fur cloak. Her jewelry was also kept to minimum. Still, the quality of her clothes, jewelry, and the way she carried herself, it all made her identity as a noble obvious.
On the other hand, Su LiangLin was dressed in a glamorous light pink dress with a lot of silver and pearl jewelry. A white fur cloak was also draped over her shoulders, and she looked nothing less than the beautiful and young Crown Princess that she was.
"If not for the fear of getting thrown into prison for attacking the Crown Princess of this realm, I would have loved to smack you across this hall." Xiang Ling spoke the words with a warm and gentle smile on her lips.
"Oh? You just reminded me, I can use my identity to torture you while we are here." Su LiangLin paid no attention to the threat she just received, and instead, looked excited after learning about the power she held over Xiang Ling as the Crown Princess of the Mortal Realm.
Xiang Ling could hardly believe the woman. Folding her arms over her chest, she gave the woman a hard glare while reminding her - "Don’t even dream about that. You might not know this but I can access my divine powers unlike you. It will be much better for you to stay far away from me considering how thin my patience runs when it comes to you."
Another threat but Su LiangLin was once again paying attention to a different part of the sentences. "You can access your divine powers! How?"
Xiang Ling shrugged one of her shoulders in response while replying, "I have no confirmed explanation, but it seems like another one of those things that went wrong in the divine portal."
"What a discrimination! That divine portal gave you access to your powers, but gave me nothing except for my divine memories. Someone needs to make that thing right the wrong it had committed. I can’t support such unfairness. "
Su LiangLin’s complaints only made Xiang Ling roll her eyes. The Supreme Immortal Lin was still same even in the Mortal Realm, always paying attention to the wrong matter.
"What unfairness you are talking about, my Crown Princess?"
The question threw both Xiang Ling and Su LiangLin off guard and the two of them turned their attention toward the man who just appeared at the entrance of the Main Hall.
From the appearance of the man and also from the look on Su LiangLin’s face, Xiang Ling was quick to identify the man. Turning to face him, she greeted him politely with a formal bow. Her action pulled Su LiangLin out of her shock and she too greeted the Crown Prince.
"Your Highness."
