Chapter 219: Jealous Xin Cheng
Chapter 219: Jealous Xin Cheng
"I must say that your skill of putting on disguise is still as good as ever." Xiang Ling found herself praising Su LiangLin all of a sudden as the two of them finished chatting and made their way down the stairs.
"Still, I’m afraid that the Crown Prince has already find out about my absence. That’s the only thing that can explain why those Imperial guards were looking for me." Su LiangLin sounded as if she was ready to give up on everything and just accept whatever fate was awaiting her. And she might have done exactly that if not for the woman standing next to her. Now, her plan had changed. She couldn’t let Supreme Immortal Xing defeat her.
Xiang Ling chuckled softly and wrapped one of her hands around Su LiangLin’s waist before pulling the woman closer to whisper next to her ear, "All the very best for whatever future awaits you. Hopefully, I will not be hearing news about your death the coming morning."
While these two women didn’t think much of their posture, the same couldn’t be said about those who were present around them and were witnessing the improper scene of a woman hugging a man in broad daylight. Among all these viewers, there was one man in particular who was fuming with anger as he witnessed the scene.
"XIANG LING!"
His powerful and angry voice boomed in the room, shocking everyone including Xiang Ling and Su LiangLin. The two women immeditely stepped away from each other and turned to face the man who was glaring daggers at them.
"W-who is he?" Su LiangLin asked while staring at the man. "He’s surrounded by a murderous aura and look how he’s glaring at me. It’s almost like he’s about to kill me. When did I anger someone other than the Crown Prince?"
Out of terror, Supreme Immortal Lin made the worst decision possible and grabbed Xiang Ling’s arms to pull the woman in front of her as a shield against the anger of the stranger.
"Xin Cheng?"
Hearing Xiang Ling addressing the man, Su LiangLin immediately moved from behind the former and glanced between the two, trying to understand the situation. However, before she could have processed anything, the man was already there, pulling Xiang Ling away from her and giving her the most dangerous glare she ever witnessed in her long life of twelve thousand years.
She opened her mouth to speak but never got the chance as the man was already dragging Xiang Ling out of the building.
"What just happened?" Su LiangLin asked to no one in particular, yet, she received a reply from the last person she wanted to meet at that moment.
"I would like to know the answer as well... my Crown Princess."

"Xin Cheng, where are you taking me?" Xiang Ling demanded as she tried to get herself out of the man’s tight hold. She didn’t need to ask in order to know that he was mad at her. What she couldn’t understand was the reason behind his sudden anger at her.
As far she could recall, she had been behaving herself around her men, and had done absolutely nothing to irritate them, especially the Demon Emperor.
She got no response from Xin Cheng. Eventually, she followed him into her booked room in the Inn they were staying at, and as soon as the door shut closed, she found herself being pulled into a whirlwind of spell. The very next moment, she was inside a Spatial Realm, Xin Cheng’s Spatial Realm.
He finally let go of her hand and Xiang Ling used the chance to put some distance between the two. Though she didn’t know why he was angry, she could tell that his anger was skyrocketing with every passing minute. Being inside his space, she didn’t have the option of fleeing, but she also knew that the man wouldn’t hurt her, at least physically.
When he remained standing with his back facing toward her and didn’t speak for way too long, she finally decided to break the silence. "What happened?"
As soon as the question left her lips, the man turned his attention toward her and closed the distance between them. Xiang Ling didn’t even got the time to take a step back before the man had grabbed her shoulders and pushed her against what seemed like a wall.
"What were you doing with that man? Who was he?"
It took her way too long to hear past the anger in his growl and process the questions. As soon as her mind registered what he asked, she realized the reason behind his anger. Even though she wanted to laugh, she didn’t dare to.
"That wasn’t a man."
She finally spoke and watched a confused look overtaking the anger on his face. "What do you mean?" He demanded with suspicion filled in his gaze as he observed her carefully.
"The man you saw with me just now... was actually a woman. She’s the Crown Princess dressed as a man to hide from the Imperial guards. We just crossed paths today when she was running from the guards." Xiang Ling explained patiently.
"You just met today and already became close enough to hold each other like that?"
The question threw Xiang Ling off as she didn’t expect the man to still act jealous after knowing that the man was actually a woman.
"Well... we just bonded over our tragic history that is quite same..."
She gave him the first excuse that entered her brain and it only resulted in a scoff from the Demon Emperor. His hold tightened on her shoulders as he stepped closer to her with their faces so close that she was able to feel his warm breath against her cheek.
Staring into her eyes, he whispered, "Let me remind you, Xiang Ling. You gave us your word to never look at another man when you married Zhang Xuan. So, don’t even think about going back on your words."
