"I can’t help it since you are sitting right in front of me."

"What?"
"I just realized after looking at you for a long time that you are quite handsome. Despite your unpleasant attitude, I think your face is enough to get you a free pass in Xiao Ling’s harem."

The next day...
"Are you not going to sit beside me? It’s the only empty seat left in here?"
Xin Cheng with a deadly glare: "I will pass on this opportunity and sit in front of the carriage with the coachman."
Later that night at an Inn...
"You are so rich Xiao Ling. Then why are you making the three of us share a room?"
Letting out a long sigh, Xiang Ling tried to make the man understand. "It’s not about money. There are only two empty rooms available. What else am I supposed to do now?"
"Go and talk with the Inn’s manager and arrange him a bed in the woodshed." Xin Cheng threw over his shoulder as he turned to head toward his room.
"I can always share the room with you, Xiao Ling." Zhang Xuan suddenly announced, halting Xin Cheng in his tracks. The Demon Emperor didn’t even took more than a second before he returned by Zhang Xuan’s side and started dragging him away.
"Hey! What are you doing?"
"Let me go immediately!"
"Are you not listening? Do you even have any manners?"
Xiang Ling shook her head as she watched the two men disappear from her sight. She couldn’t help but feel relaxed with those two gone.
"When are these two going to stop acting like kids? They have been at each other’s throats these past two days. I have even lost count of how many times I saw Xin Cheng’s sword ready to slice through Zhang Xuan’s throat." Wei Guang commented as he too watched the two men leave.
"They have been giving me severe headaches." Xiang Ling replied as she turned to look at Wei Guang who was suddenly looking at her with worry filled eyes.
"Is it the weather? Do you need me to find a physician for you? Or should I got to the kitchen and ask them to make some medicinal soup for you? Do you need a head massage?" The man suggested all the possible choices and Xiang Ling found herself smiling at his caring side.
"I didn’t mean it literally. I was just trying to say that those two have bickering way too much that I have started to get tired of them. Stop worrying too much about me and make sure to look after yourself as well. I have already asked the staff to prepare hot baths and chicken soup for the three of you. Enjoy them. I will see you in the morning."
Wei Guang nodded his head in understanding and watched as Xiang Ling turned around and headed inside her room. Before closing the door, she gave him that familiar warm smile of hers that filled him with its warmth. However, what he craved the most at that moment was to be with her.
He knew that despite her busy schedule, she had been trying her best to divide her free time among all her husbands equally to make sure that they wouldn’t feel neglected. However, he had started becoming greedy when it came for her attention and company. He wanted to spend more time with her, both physically and emotionally. But he had been hesitating a lot to take the first step. It was already a miracle that he ended up requesting her to bring him along on this trip.
Letting out a sigh, he started heading toward his own room but stopped when he realized that he was sharing the room with Xin Cheng and Zhang Xuan. Wanting to stay away from their bickering for a while longer, he decided to take a stroll outside and headed out of the Inn.
Xiang Ling was about to enter her space to spend the night cultivating and relaxing, when she noticed Wei Guang walking on the street outside from the window of her room which was left open. She went closer to the window to close it as a lot of cold air was entering the room, but then her gaze landed on the familiar form of her husband.
Throughout the journey, she had been feeling that he wanted to say something to her but was unable to. She wondered whether she should take the initiative to ask him what was bothering him or should she just wait for him to open up on his own. But looking at the situation, she realized that they needed to communicate before things could get worse.
Quickly closing the window, she stepped out of her room and headed downstairs to find Wei Guang. It took her a while before she was able to spot him as he was standing next to a stall at the side of the street. She walked toward him and noticed that he was buying a hairpin.
"Whom are you going to give this?" She asked while closing the remaining distance between them.
Her sudden question made Wei Guang turn his attention toward her and surprise was coating his entire face. He didn’t expect to see her there.
"Why...? You are...? What are you doing here?" He finally was able to speak out a proper question as his initial shock subsided.
"I just noticed a very handsome man making his way through this street where a lot of women are eyeing him. I just decided to join the show." Xiang Ling replied with a little shrug of her shoulder.
"What-?" Wei Guang was confused by her words and quickly looked around only to realize that there were indeed people there who were staring at him, and most of them were young women who were eyeing him as if he was their next meal.
"I..." he tried to speak but didn’t get the chance as a woman suddenly appeared next to him.
"Handsome, do you want a wife?"
