Chapter 200: Spirit Crystals

Chapter 200: Spirit Crystals

A long sigh escaped Xiang Ling’s lips as she stood outside the dimly lit chamber that belonged to Dao Ming. She had been standing outside for a while now, contemplating whether she should head inside or just return to her room.

What really irritated her the most was the fact that she was affected by neither of those two men stepping outside to find her yet. Considering their identities, there was no doubt that they sensed her presence the very moment she arrived there, and yet, they were treating her like nothing.

What exactly is wrong with me? Am I under a love spell or something? She found herself wondering as she started walking toward the door. A moment later, she was finally knocking on the door.

It didn’t didn’t took a second before the door was pulled open and she found Dao Ming standing on the other side with his expectant gaze fixed on her. She was left slightly puzzled to see how fast everything happened. It was almost like he was waiting for her to knock so that he could finally open the door.

Neither of the two spoke for a while and it was the Spirit Beast King who pulled himself together first. He cleared his throat to dismiss the awkward situation before he asked, "I... uh... you need something?"

Xiang Ling found herself shaking her head before she asked, "Can I come in pride for a moment?"

Dao Ming quickly looked back at someone inside the room before he immediately returned his attention to her and nodded his head. Xiang Ling followed him inside the room and found Xin Cheng standing near the window with his back facing her.

She took in a deep breath before she turned her full attention at Dao Ming and handed him the wooden box she took out from her space. Inside the box were spirit crytals, a item that was used in four Realms as the highest form of money. There were a total of three different types of spirit crystals - red, blue, and purple. Red was the lowest grade, followed by blue and finally purple which was the highest grade.

One red spirit crystal was worth a hundred thousand golden taels. One blue spirit stone was worth ten red spirit crystals, and one purple spirit crystals was worth fifty blue spirit crystals.

The reason why these spirit crystals were used as the highest form of money throughout all the five realms was because they could store cultivation powers within them. A red spirit crystal could store one year’s worth of cultivation power. A blue spirit crystal could store ten years’ worth of cultivation power, and one purple spirit crystal could store five hundred years’ worth of cultivation powers.

The wooden box she just handed to Dao Ming, carried a red spirit crystal in it. After selling it, he would earn a hundred thousand golden taels at minimum. If auctioned, he could even earn as much as ten hundred thousand golden taels.

Since these spirit crystals were very rare, they were one of those treasures that could make people choose war in order to own it.

"There’s a red spirit crystal inside. It’s the money I own you both and your men for helping me with the construction of the Inn. Thank you for everything." She informed him about the content of the box and gave a respectful bow to convey her gratitude.

Dao Ming didn’t open the box to take a look inside, but neither did him try to return the box. He just gave a nod of his head to show that he understood.

Feeling the awkwardness, Xiang Ling decided to take her leave. Yet, she wasn’t able to stop her gaze from taking a glance toward Xin Cheng who still had his back facing her. With a heavy heart, she turned around and was ready to leave the room when her gaze landed on the map that was spread open on the wooden desk.

Deciding to keep walking, she used her enhanced eyesight to catch a better glimpse of the map as she walked past the desk. However, Dao Ming noticed her attention shifting to the map and quickly ushered her out of the room, leaving Xiang Ling completely baffled.

"Wait! I-"

Xiang Ling didn’t even got to finish speaking before Dao Ming slammed the door shut at her face. With her jaw hanging open, she stood there for a couple of moments while staring at the now closed door.

After a while, she let out a frustrated sigh and left the place all the while repeating to herself that she wasn’t the least bit interested to know whatever those two men were planning behind the closed door.

But no matter how much she tried, she wasn’t able to forget about the map that she saw on the desk. Even though Dao Ming was quick to block her way, she still managed to take a close enough look to know what place they were discussing about, and that very knowledge was keeping her ignoring whatever those two were planning.

The mark she noticed on the map was on Azure Misty Peaks, the widely spread and most dangerous mountains in the entire Mortal Realm. That place was rumored to contain the highest concentration of spiritual energy in the entire Mortal Realm and for that very reason, it was the home of the most ferocious beasts, plants, and humans. It was a place filled with dangers and mysteries.

She couldn’t help but wonder why Xin Cheng and Dao Ming were discussing about such a place. What were they planning to do?

Shaking her head to get rid of her thoughts, she forced herself to stop thinking about the duo and whatever they were up to. While trying to think about other things, she made her way to her own room.

On the other hand, Dao Ming had a worried expression on his face. He turned to look at Xin Cheng as he asked, "Do you think she got a good look at the map?"
