Chapter 151: The Auction
Chapter 151: The Auction
’Master, that’s way too many people. Are you planning to buy every slave present out there?’ Little Pink finally asked when Xiang Ling sent another group of young women inside the Spatial Realm.
For the past an hour, that woman had been visiting all the shops and buying all the slaves that met her requirements. By now, there were a total of fifty-nine slaves resting inside the Spatial Realm.
’Don’t worry. These women were the last ones.’ Xiang Ling answered through their shared mind link and Little Pink immediately let out a sigh of relief. She had been feeling tired while watching Xuelin taking care of everyone all alone.
"Master said she is done buying the slaves. You can also rest now as there wouldn’t be more coming." Little Pink informed Xuelin who nodded her head in understanding.
"What a pity though. One more and they would have become sixty." Little Pink added with a little shake of her head. The very next moment, shenlet out a huge yawn as if she was bone-tired after working so hard. Fluttering her small wings, she made her way toward the Summer Cottage to sleep in her comfortable makeshift bed.
Xuelin just shook her head as she watched Little Pink disappearing inside the Cottage. Instead of heading to rest just like she was told by Little Pink, she took out a bottle of pills from her sleeves and moved to distribute the pills among the people whose wounds she had just treated. It was her master’s order to feed these people the memory erasing pills and make them forget about their time inside the Spatial Realm.
On the other hand, in the outside world, Xiang Ling followed Xin Cheng and Dao Ming inside the auction house before the three of them took their seats in a VVIP room on the second floor.
Few moments later, servants of the auction house entered the room, carrying refreshments and a list of the items that were about to be auctioned. Xiang Ling studied the list excitedly and was amazed at the variety. There were all sorts of treasure in there - some she had seen before, some she had only heard about, and then there were those she had no clue that even existed in the first place. She also noticed the mention of several slaves who were about to be auctioned off as well.
"Which one is yours?" She asked Dao Ming while her eyes curiously checked the list again to see if she could find the item that belonged to the Royal family of the Spirit Beast Kingdom.
"You will find out in no time," replied Dao Ming much to Xiang Ling’s dismay. She let out a small huff and placed the list aside on the table before turning her attention on the wide variety of snacks that were offered to them with the tea.
She was pouring herself a cup of tea when she noticed that neither the man were drinking. Without thinking much, she poured two more cups of tea and handed it to them. It was only when she reached out to hand the cup to Xin Cheng, did she realize that she was about to embarrass herself. The man just stared at her in silence and she soon realized that he wouldn’t be accepting the tea poured by her. She was about to pull away her hand when he suddenly took the cup from her hand.
Clearing her throat, she returned her attention to the view downstairs as there was a little commotion before everyone became dead silent. A woman, probably in her mid-forties, climbed up on the high platform to address the guests.
"The Fenglin Auction House welcomes all the guests who have graced this place to participate in the auction tonight." The woman spoke in a sweet but powerful voice, loud enough to be heard in every corner of the building. "Without wasting any time, let’s start the first bid of the night."
There were cheers and clappings from the guests as the first item appeared on the podium, covered with a red silk cloth, making everyone curious.
The woman smiled as she took in the view of all the curious faces before she finally lifted the silk cloth and the item came in view. "The first item of tonight’s auction is - the legendary Eternal Ice Orchid. The bidding price is - Five Hundred Golden Taels."
Xiang Ling’s mouth was left hanging open as she heard the price. As the Supreme Immortal of the Upper Realms, she could afford hundreds of Eternal Ice Orchids. However, as the Mortal Chen Xiang Ling, she couldn’t even dream about buying such a treasure. Good thing was, she had no interest in buying anything at all. She was there to just enjoy the show.
The price kept increasing every other second as people tried to get their hands on the treasure. The Eternal Ice Orchid was a spiritual flower that bloomed only once every thousand years and possessed the power to freeze anything it touched.
After five more minutes, the bid concluded at a high price of two thousand golden taels.
The next item was the Heaven’s Edge Sword. Xiang Ling recognized the sword immediately. It was a sword forged from a rare meteorite that fell from the heavens and was capable of cutting through space itself. The last time she heard about this sword, it was possessed by the previous Immortal of War and got lost during his death in the last war between demons and immortals.
The bidding price started from fifty thousand golden taels and Xiang Ling was looking forward to see who was about to successfully buy the treasure. It was not until a person from across their room voiced their price, did she come to know who was going to win the bid.
"The Immortal of War is here to get back the treasure." Dao Ming commented as he too recognized the Divine presence of a Supreme Immortal who won the bid with five hundred thousand golden taels.
