Xiang Ling stared into Zhe Yuan’s mesmerizing eyes and realized that she was spellbound by him. He looked insanely good, but his looks weren’t the only reason she had started feeling drawn toward him.
Each of these six men that had suddenly entered her life, made her feel like a real woman. The way they looked at her, talked to her, touched her, and took care of her - everything made her feel more attracted to them. Very slowly but easily, these men were making their homes not only in her life but also in her heart, and that realization scared her.
Each of these men had a powerful identity, and they all carried their own secrets. Was she even allowed to have even one of them let alone all six?
"What are you thinking about?" Zhe Yuan asked curiously when he noticed the thoughtful expression on her face. She almost seemed disturbed by something.
Xiang Ling shook her head slowly in denial. "Nothing. What is this place?" She asked while looking around, trying to divert the route of conversation.
"This is my favorite place. You are inside my Spatial Realm." Zhe Yuan answered and he sounded proud while announcing himself as the owner of the beautiful place.
"Oh!" Xiang Ling whispered in surprise, feeling almost envious of him for having such an enchantingly beautiful place in his possession. "But why am I here?" She asked and tried to recall what exactly happened. All that she was able to recall was how she was heading to her room in the Inn but lost consciousness at the top of the stairs.
Zhe Yuan let out a small sigh before he answered. "You fell unconscious on your way to your room and fell down the stairs. That’s why your body is sore. You were also burning up in a high fever. It took a lot of effort to make Brother Li calm down and bring you in here. After soaking here in this pool for the past three hours, your fever has finally gone down."
As if her body came back to life the moment he explained everything, Xiang Ling felt her limbs aching and soreness all over her body. Thankfully, nothing hurt and it was probably because of the spiritual water of the pool that had done a fabulous job of fixing up her over-exhausted mortal body.
"Thank you." She whispered as she looked at the man and found him gazing at her with softness in his eyes. She immediately looked away, afraid she would end up doing something crazy if she looked into those eyes any longer. "You... are you not going to ask about your wife?"
Zhe Yuan slowly shook his head in response, surprising Xiang Ling in the process. "I never married her, so she’s not my wife." The response only made her shock bigger. "What do you mean?" She asked.
"My case is kind of similar to yours. If my guess is right, you ended up inside her body after her death. Right?" Zhe Yuan asked and it seemed like the more he spoke, the more shocked Xiang Ling became. Slowly, she nodded her head in the affirmative. "I came to Mortal Realm to undergo my life-tribulation, but somehow ended up in her body instead of being born as a mortal."
Zhe Yuan nodded his head as if he had already guessed it all. "I came to Mortal Realm on a little trip. My father was persistent in getting me married, so I fled the Water Realm. I was taking a night stroll when I encountered a group of bandits killing a man after they took away all his money and valuables. He seemed to have fled from his home but met an unfortunate end. Since I was being chased by my father’s men, I decided to take the identity of that man and returned to Chen Manor, only to realize that the man had the same name as mine and was recently married to his infamous cousin. He fled the home the very night of his wedding."
"Really?" Xiang Ling found herself asking.
A knowing smile took over Zhe Yuan’s lips as he asked, "Why? You think I’m lying?"
Shaking her head slowly, she replied, "No. I just feel like you haven’t told the entire truth."
The smile on his lips only became bigger after hearing her words as if he was impressed by her. Shifting slightly closer, he asked, "We are from two entirely different realms. Would you tell me all your secrets?"
Xiang Ling failed to suppress the little smile that his words brought to her lips. "You trust me enough to bring me inside your Spatial Realm, but not enough to share your secrets?" She challenged.
"I will tell you all my secrets when I will marry you as my one and only wife." He confessed and Xiang Ling’s breath got caught in her throat in shock. She wasn’t expecting him to say something like this. "I have other men in my life too." She reminded him as if she was also trying to remind herself.
"I don’t mind." He confessed again and as Xiang Ling looked into his eyes, she realized that he meant what he just said. "I think it suits you perfectly." He said with a soft smile and leaned closer.
"What?" She asked and realized that the word came out as a mere whisper.
"Having more than one man to look after you...," He whispered, brushing his lips at the side of her jaw. Xiang Ling’s breath hitched, and her heart raced. His lips were surprisingly soft and delicate as he planted soft, slow kisses across her jaw while he continued whispering. "... to take care of you, to indulge you... to pleasure you."
Xiang Ling bit her lip, trying to contain the whimper at the tip of her tongue. She should have moved away, but she didn’t. Instead, she clutched her dress as if her life depended on it.
