Chapter 53: Fighting +16!
Chapter 53: Chapter 53: Fighting +16!
"Did she just leave?" Yang Bo thought, feeling a bit awkward. The person he had been keeping an eye on just packed up and left. Moreover, it seemed this woman had quite a conflict with the newcomer. Although he couldn’t hear their voices, it was obvious from their body language.
"Should I force a move?" Yang Bo wondered, feeling torn. The technology in this world was too advanced. If he killed someone, the authorities had many ways to track it down.
In his previous life, Yang Bo had thoroughly studied trace evidence analysis. He initially had some ideas, but after learning about it, he abandoned them.
Trace evidence analysis was a discipline for investigating cases. If used well, solving a case was incredibly easy.
With the even more advanced technology of this world, there had to be countless methods available.
Yang Bo currently had no desire to wander the interstellar space. Although there were quite a few Pirates out there committing atrocities, and despite his lack of attachment to this country, he wouldn’t become a Pirate for no reason.
Yang Bo thought, "You piece of trash, I want to see what tricks you have up your sleeve. I hope you don’t disappoint me and hide like a coward indoors, just like the previous woman.
"Should I lure the enemy out and then find a way into his room?"
Without hesitation, Yang Bo tidied up, put on a mask, and headed out.
"Sure enough, he made a move." As soon as Yang Bo stepped out of his residence, he used Sound Wave Detection and noticed the man also hurriedly opening his door.
Yang Bo left the building and walked toward the small lake at the back. Although he appeared to be wandering aimlessly, he constantly kept the man locked on with his Sound Wave Detection.
"Holy crap, he actually snuck into my place," Yang Bo realized in surprise. The man had slipped into his apartment. The clothes the guy wore seemed a bit different, emitting a faint Energy reaction when scanned by Sound Wave Detection.
"Sorry, buddy, but I’m going to take a look at your place too," Yang Bo decided. He immediately turned and headed toward the underground parking lot.
The parking lot in this high-end private community was spacious. While it lacked security cameras, there were guards on patrol.
It wasn’t Yang Bo’s first time in the parking garage, as he often came here to charge batteries.
"I have to find a way to get my hands on that Energy Armor," he muttered. Yang Bo stripped off his clothes and hid them in a secluded corner, knowing the exact schedule for cleaning and trash collection here.
Activating his Invisibility, Yang Bo waited outside the man’s apartment, enduring the boredom.
The place this man lived in was clearly more Advanced than Yang Bo’s residence. There were only two units on this floor, and nobody was home in the other one.
After waiting for about ten minutes, Yang Bo saw the man return. He was dressed entirely in gray—a hoodie jacket, pants, and shoes.
From the gray jacket, Yang Bo sensed faint Energy Fluctuations. It was incredibly weak.
The man glanced around before taking out a key to unlock the door. Upon pushing it open, he carefully inspected a mark he had left on the floor.
Only then did he enter. Using a graceful movement technique, Yang Bo slipped inside right behind him.
Since Yang Bo didn’t know how to pick locks, he couldn’t have opened the door himself. Furthermore, the guy had left a mark before leaving, and Yang Bo couldn’t guarantee he could replicate it perfectly.
After entering, the man took off his jacket and pulled a device from his pocket.
"This piece of trash actually installed a hidden camera to spy on me," Yang Bo thought. Standing right next to the man, he saw that the device’s screen displayed his own apartment.
Opening the device and looking at the feed, the man muttered, "I really don’t know what the minister is thinking, sending someone like me to capture an ordinary resident-level target.
"The company is getting bigger, and the workers are getting more careless. The supervisory department should just be abolished.
"But it’s weird. This resident didn’t leave behind a single biological trace in the room—not even a strand of hair. Is this guy a neat freak or what?"
Yang Bo had noticed this as well. In the past, it was normal for him to lose a couple of hairs while washing up. However, ever since he became stronger, his hair basically stopped shedding. He hadn’t seen a fallen strand in a long time. It made him wonder how his fat boss managed to lose so much hair.
"What company is this guy talking about? Should I torture a confession out of him?" Yang Bo thought, taking care not to brush against anything. He stared at the man’s face, firmly committing it to memory.
The man looked Ordinary. He had black hair, blue eyes, white skin, and a high nose bridge. His eyes were also quite Ordinary. He didn’t look like a bad guy at all.
Sensing that something was slightly off, the man looked up and carefully scanned his surroundings. He pulled out a miniature Energy Detection device and turned it on, but there was no reaction. The man then stood up and inspected every room in the apartment one by one.
"Supervisor!" About half an hour later, the man activated his smartwatch. A beam of light shot out, projecting a virtual screen that displayed another man sitting in a chair.
Hearing the man respectfully address the other party, Yang Bo’s mind raced. "So this guy is his superior?"
"How is it? Is the mission complete?" the man on the virtual screen asked calmly.
"Supervisor, it’ll be done soon. I just planted some devices in his apartment. However, his place is extremely clean; I couldn’t find any useful biological materials. My next step is to engineer an accident when he leaves the house," the man explained his plan.
"Finish the mission as quickly as possible. You smuggled yourself in this time. You must complete the mission within two days and leave on the smuggling Spaceship. Otherwise, if you’re discovered, we’ll be in huge trouble. The bigwigs of the Alliance are currently on a rampage," the supervisor said.
"Supervisor, I’ll make my move tomorrow," the man agreed immediately.
Yang Bo carefully scrutinized the virtual screen. In one corner, he spotted an icon. It looked very familiar, resembling the logo of a certain large corporation.
"If possible, make the target disappear after securing the biological sample," the supervisor added calmly.
"Understood. I brought the black Potion with me!" the man replied casually.
Just as the man ended the call, he suddenly felt something was wrong. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a gray Energy Weapon pressed against his neck, emitting a faint Energy Radiance.
"You..." The man tried to turn his head to see who it was as he spoke, but in the next second, his vision went black and he lost consciousness.
Fighting +16!
"Since he smuggled his way in here, I won’t have any moral burden killing him," Yang Bo thought, looking at his hands. He had used the Energy Weapon to keep the man immobilized and give him a false sense of hope—making him think his life wasn’t in immediate danger, which made it easier to strike.
The biggest reason, however, was that this guy had planned to kill him. How could he possibly tolerate that?
Furthermore, Yang Bo was very interested in the guy’s equipment. Earlier, when the man infiltrated his apartment, he had casually pulled out a tool and just walked right in.
"It’s about time I learned how to dispose of a body without a trace," Yang Bo concluded.
