When these two came to the corridor, they were stunned and stopped in their tracks.
The scar faced guy turned his head to look at the security guard next to him. “Did you hear anything?”
The other guy shook his head. “I don’t hear
it.”
He asked, “What’s wrong?”
Scarface stopped for a moment and shook his head in puzzlement. “It’s nothing. I probably misheard something.”
Saying that, he led the way into the study with the chipped-ear guy trailing behind him.
Su Yang was actually less than two meters away from them, tightly covering his mouth and not daring to breathe. However, he slipped on his foot accidentally just now.
As the two people went to look into the room, Su Yang’s reflex was to go downstairs. However, just as he reached the stairs, he turned around to go back. Su Yang was about to die of fright as he hid by the window. The study was closed before, but he was in such a hurry to get out that he didn’t close it!

Just then, Su Yang suddenly discovered that the floating dust on the floor actually had his footprints on it and extended all the way to the corner he was hiding in.
Su Yang was shocked.
If those two people found out, he’d be finished!
Thinking like this, Su Yang turned his head rapidly. Then, he carefully opened the window next to him, stepped backwards by tracking the footprints and returned to the study door step by step.
Using that method, he followed the other row of footprints and went backward to the stairway, tiptoeing to another corner next to the stairway to hide.
A moment later, the two security guards were heard talking again from the study.
The chipped-ear guy asked, “What do you think the boss is looking for?”
Scarface replied, “How the hell do I know? He said he was looking for a document, but didn’t say what it was.”
The chipped-ear guy pressed on. “What was in that document?”
Scarface didn’t know what to say. “How do I know! Let’s find it first.”
The chipped-ear guy muttered, “We don’t even know what to look for and what to find…”
Since they couldn’t open the safe after tinkering with it for a while, their voices were heard from the study as they sat, discussing on a set of tables and chairs. “Why do you think our boss dares to conduct so much illegal business here?”
Scarface whispered, “Didn’t you hear the rumors? It’s said that our boss has a powerful backing in capital, and the people of Shanghai had to give him face.”
The chipped-ear guy said with a bit of disdain, “It’s all rumors from outside. We’ve been working here for five or six years, and we’ve never seen our boss meet anyone.”
Scarface tisked. “If you haven’t seen it, does it mean it’s not real? If you’ve never seen a woman with a big ass, does that mean women don’t have asses?”
The chipped-ear guy anxiously replied, “What do you mean I never seen one?! I’ve seen a lot!”

“Come on, come on.” Scarface, clearly not wanting to continue the conversation with this one-track minded guy, said, “What you think is what you think. You’re just like Wong, all right?! I’ll go to the bathroom, and you can look around the room.”
Chipped-ear guy muttered, “Oh.” Then, Su Yang heard the sound of Scarface getting up in the study. Then, as Su Yang looked on, Scarface left the room, humming as he made his way to the toilet next to the hallway.
He heard the sound of draining and flushing water. After a while, Scarface came out of the toilet with his hands flailing and returned to his room.
Su Yang hid in the corner, wanting to continue to hear if there was any more useful information. However, it was as if someone had pressed the mute button in the study room. He could no longer hear anything.
Su Yang frowned and tried to prick up his ears but still, there was no sound.
Two minutes passed, and Su Yang’s instincts told him that something was wrong.
As soon as he lifted his leg, he saw Scarface and the chipped-ear guy walking, both with an iron rod in each hand, looking down at the footprints as they slowly walked out.
Su Yang’s heartbeat was pounding. He knew he was exposed. Scarface was obviously a bold and careful person and probably noticed something unusual when he came out of the toilet. However, he went back to the house and had a silent exchange with the chipped-ear guy.
After the exchange, the two of them picked up their weapons and began to follow the footprints to find the person that had broken into the house.
Su Yang really didn’t dare to move now. There was a layer of dust on the ground, and the more he walked, the faster he would be exposed!
He could only hope that what he did to hide his tracks earlier would be able to conceal it from these two people.
These two people then followed the footprints and checked room to room against Su Yang’s path, then all the way back to the study room, and then out of the study room to the window at the end of the corridor.
When they saw the window that Su Yang intentionally opened, they looked at each other, and finally spoke up.
The chipped-ear guy whispered, “Has someone been here?”
Scarface replied in exasperation, “No shit, sherlock! You’ve seen the footprints! Someone must have been here!”
The chipped-ear guy spoke, “But who is it? Who has the keys to this villa?”
Scarface shook his head, puzzled. “I don’t know…”
He looked out the wide open window, which blew inward with the slightly sultry summer night air, and mumbled, “Did that guy jump out of the window?”
“But why did he jump out the window?”
Scarface seemed to react as he smacked his lips. “Something’s wrong.”
He turned around again, bent over, stared at the footprints, and continued to walk backward.
This time he lined them up especially carefully and soon, he waved toward the chipped-ear guy. “Look! Here’s a line of separate footprints.” The chipped-ear guy asked, “Where? Where is it?”
Su Yang witnessed them find the footprints they were tracking earlier, continuing all the way to the corner of their hideout…
The two guards followed the footprints a little bit to find their way forward.
Su Yang squatted in the corner. His heartbeat was also a little faster as his clenched fists began to sweat.
He was clenching his lips and was staring at the two men, incomparably nervous!

The chipped-ear guy looked at Scarface. “What’s wrong?”
