Chapter 127: Chapter 110: It’s also my honor to taste Mrs. Bao’s cooking from Miss Lin

Seemingly convinced, Dean Wen hesitated for a moment before saying, "Alright, you can give it a try."

Mrs. Luo still hadn’t woken up.

Lin Zhenxiang stayed in the hospital room, waiting for her to wake up.

Seeing that she had no intention of leaving, Dean Wen gave a knowing smile. He glanced at the nursing robot, used his Light Brain to give instructions to a nurse, and then took his leave.

A short while later, there were a few soft knocks on the door, and then it was pushed open.

The newcomer looked familiar to Lin Zhenxiang, but for a moment, she couldn’t recall where she had seen him before.

Ke Dancheng, pausing in the doorway, was taken aback. He never imagined Lin Zhenxiang would be in his aunt’s room.

"Hello," Lin Zhenxiang said politely. "Are you in the wrong room?"

"You’re the one in the wrong room," Ke Dancheng retorted, his tone unfriendly as he pushed up his black-framed glasses.

’Shouldn’t Lin Zhenxiang be in the general ward? What is she doing in the gynecology inpatient wing?’

Lin Zhenxiang realized immediately. "You’re Mrs. Luo’s family?"

Ke Dancheng didn’t deny it, nor did he pay Lin Zhenxiang any more mind. He walked silently to the side of the treatment pod. Seeing his aunt’s miserable state, his chest felt tight and pained.

But his expression remained stoic.

He fetched some warm water and skillfully used a towel to wipe his aunt’s hands and face. His movements were very gentle, but he still woke her up.

"Dancheng!"

Ling Yunyun forced a smile, trying her best to look relaxed and lively. But her mouth felt as if it were stuffed with scalding sand, and the dry, hoarse voice that came out when she spoke revealed her condition wasn’t as optimistic as she let on.

Carefully avoiding the IV tube, Ke Dancheng helped Ling Yunyun sit up.

"Aunt, can you drink water right now?"

Ling Yunyun licked her chapped lips.

Before she could even speak, Lin Zhenxiang eagerly approached, carrying an insulated food container.

"I have fish soup!" she said with a smile. "Mrs. Luo, I heard you were also staying at Imperial Hospital, just like me, so I’ve been looking for a chance to come visit. I just happened to learn a new recipe recently, so I made it and brought it for you."

Ling Yunyun gave a bitter smile and politely refused. "I’m so sorry, but I can’t keep anything down lately..."

Lin Zhenxiang looked a little hurt. "Please just try it, Mrs. Luo. I got up bright and early and spent over two hours carefully preparing this. It’s a new dish I learned from Mrs. Bao."

Hearing "Mrs. Bao," a light flashed in Ling Yunyun’s eyes. "You mean *the* Mrs. Bao who’s been so popular lately?"

Lin Zhenxiang hadn’t expected Mrs. Bao’s name to be more effective than all her painstaking effort.

Despite the darkness in her heart, she responded with a flawless smile, "The very one."

Ling Yunyun said gratefully, "Miss Lin, thank you! My friends, and even my nephew, have been telling me all about Mrs. Bao, saying how wonderful and delicious her cooking is. I’ve really been looking forward to trying it! It’s my honor to be able to taste one of Mrs. Bao’s dishes thanks to you, Miss Lin!"

"Mrs. Bao is most famous for her creamy white fish soup and pan-fried crispy fish, both made with small white fish. The soup is actually quite easy to make, but the pan-fried crispy fish requires you to get the heat just right. I failed several times before I finally got the hang of it."

Lin Zhenxiang said as she opened the insulated food container.

Instantly, the fresh, savory aroma of the fish soup filled the air.

Ke Dancheng’s brows twitched. He couldn’t help but look over, swallowing hard a few times.

’It smelled fragrant, yes, but compared to Mrs. Bao’s cooking, there was still a clear difference.’

Smelling the aroma, however, Ling Yunyun did not react well. A flash of pain crossed her face, and her complexion looked even worse.

She suppressed the churning in her stomach and took a sip of the soup that Lin Zhenxiang fed her. Just as she was about to swallow, she couldn’t hold back the strong visceral reaction and spat out the soup along with the bile from her stomach!

Lin Zhenxiang quickly dodged, a flicker of disgust flashing in her eyes.

"Aunt!" Ke Dancheng supported the uncontrollably retching Ling Yunyun, then angrily rounded on Lin Zhenxiang. "Get that thing away from her!"

Ling Yunyun couldn’t even stand the smell of food right now!

"Mrs. Luo, are you alright?!" Lin Zhenxiang looked at the creamy white fish soup in her hands, utterly bewildered. "How could this happen? I clearly followed Mrs. Bao’s recipe step-by-step!"

"You’re not going to try and blame this on Mrs. Bao, are you?!" Ke Dancheng’s gaze was like he was looking at someone relapsing from a chronic illness, yet it held not a shred of sympathy or pity.

Facing his predatory stare, Lin Zhenxiang explained frantically, "I’m not trying to shirk responsibility! I tasted it before I came. There’s nothing wrong with what I made!"

"So you’re saying the problem is with my aunt?"
