With the words of the crown prince before he had headed to the frontlines, the grand duke and the duchess had finally come over to check on their son. At the private room where the crown prince and crown princess rested together, the doctors and healer who used to freely enter were blocked by an invisible barrier. When they reached out a hand, they were able to feel something hard that prevented them from entering the room. It is some kind of energy which they couldn’t see.
"What is wrong with this door? It’s open but I cannot enter!?"
"Something is blocking the door!"
"How is that possible!? Nothing like this has existed before!"
"Is this a mental energy barrier?" a guide doctor asked while feeling the barrier and felt that this barrier feels so similar like the barrier taught to them by the God of Destruction.
The grand duke and the duchess noticed the commotion in the room which was mentioned by the crown prince. The room where their son is supposed to be resting.
Lord Ye Jie asked with a slight frown, "What is this commotion all about?"
"G-Grand Duke!? Duchess!?"
"Lord Ye, we cannot enter the room! We wanted to check on the crown princess but something invisible is preventing us from entering."
When the couple heard this, they panicked. After all, it was their son who was inside this room. The Grand Duke wanted to use force to break through whatever was blocking the door only to touch air and almost planted his face on the ground.
THUD!
"Husband!?" Lord Mo Jing called in panic.
The duchess, the doctors and the healers were all dumbfounded. How was the duke able to pass through like there is nothing at the door? The duchess panicked and immediately entered the room to help his husband up. Like the grand duke he was able to enter inside the room as well. Now the couple inside the room and the group of doctors and healers outside were staring at each other. Neither can explain what is currently happening and the fact that the latter still cannot enter the room doesn’t change.
The Grand Duke while holding on his nose asked, "You guys cannot enter?"
The doctors and the healers showed the fact by actions and hit the invisible barrier that is not letting them inside. The couple was shocked to see a group floating in the air as they tried to enter the room. It seems that they weren’t joking. However, something this strange was something even they couldn’t understand why.
The duchess had to check closer and tried to create a solid shape of the invisible barrier by tracing this unknown energy.
"There is indeed a barrier, but... this is not made by mental energy. It’s an unknown or new energy we haven’t seen before." The Duchess said as he suddenly asked, "Husband, did Qin’er make his barrier?"
"...I don’t know. He only said that our son will be waking up soon and that we should wait for him in this room. He didn’t mention any barriers." The Grand Duke said as he tried to pull one of the doctors inside. Unfortunately, no matter what angle he had pulled them in, they wouldn’t budge from the outside.
There is no way that this group of fragile doctors can be capable of contending against his strength. He might not be the strongest sentinel, he is still at least the second strongest in the empire. That means whatever invisible barrier is blocking the door, it can block his power as well.
"D-Duke, my hands... I think it’s displayed! Please stop pulling!"
The Grand Duke let go of the doctor who was helped by his coworkers to reset his dislocated shoulder. "What is this strange power?"
He thought of something and glanced at the doctors and healers who couldn’t enter the room and said, "Since you can’t enter then just don’t. Maybe this strange wall would disappear once our son wakes up. When that happens we will call upon you again. For now, check on the other patients."
"Yes, Grand Duke!" The doctors and healers took their leave as they were left with no choice. They actually cannot enter the room where the crown princess resides. At least the grand duke and the duchess can, so they will not have to worry if something happens to the crown princess.
After that group had left, the grand duke had closed the door and went to his wife who is now seated beside the bed where their son is sleeping. The duchess was holding his son’s hand trying to check if there was something wrong with him. But when he tried to check on his son’s soul domain, he was gently rejected. It seems his son didn’t want him to enter his soul domain. At the same time, they weren’t able to meet one another even in soul form.
The Grand Duke asked, "How is he, A’Jing?"
"His physical body is good and his mental state is better as well. However, I am unable to enter his soul domain. A gentle energy was preventing him from entering. I have tried three times and there is no change." The duchess said. "Husband, do you think our son is alright?"
"Our Yun’er is fine," The Grand Duke said as he wrapped his arms around the duchess’s shoulder. He said, "Actually, I might not know why you are unable to enter Yun’er’s soul domain."
"What is happening?" The duchess asked.
Lord Ye Jie said, "According to the crown prince, our son might be attempting to reach godhood."
"Godhood!?" The duchess exclaimed. "Our son is going to become a god!?"
"Wife, calm down," the grand duke said. "He also said that he would be waking up soon. Maybe after our son becomes god, whatever injuries he had in him would disappear as well."
Lord Mo Jing felt relief when he heard that whatever injuries his son had might heal as he ascended to godhood. If so then becoming a god is indeed a good thing. He had always blamed himself for that injury he had suffered. If not for him being reckless in the frontlines he wouldn’t have ruined his soul domain and his son wouldn’t have ended up in such a state just to cure him. What made it worse is that his son had long fallen into slumber when he woke up. Even if he wanted to apologize to his son, he cannot hear it.
"If Yun’er can wake up, then that’s good. That’s good!" The duchess said.
What the couple didn’t know was that Ye Caoyun had long been awake and had completed his ascension to godhood. More than half of his original strength as a highgod had returned. As long as nurture his body to its peak, his original powers should return as well. What he didn’t expect was that as a mortal, he would get attached to this world and even have his parents.
