The sudden return of the troop led by the Crown Prince was welcomed back by the Empire. The people of the empire were welcoming them with a cheering attitude only to stop when they saw the lost smile on the Crown Prince’s face and all their voices had suddenly halted.
The Crown Prince with no smile on his face commanded with urgency, "Immediately. Go inform my Imperial Aunt that something has happened to Yun’er! Hurry!"
"Yes, your highness!" The messenger with the fastest legs leaves after receiving this order.
But the Crown Prince’s orders didn’t stop at just that.
Ye Qinya commands, "Summon all the Imperial Doctor. Inform that the injured people were all guides! Come immediately! You must save them all at any cost! Also, someone sent a message to the palace. Tell them that the resource planet is no more and further report would be given. I will only come to see the Imperial Father after my fiance wakes up."
The issued commands of his highness were heard by the crowd and in just a few minutes a few rumors saying that something had happened to the crown princess during their expedition had spread all over the empire. The injured people were all transferred to the most advanced hospital with Ye Caoyun being placed in the most prioritized room. After all, compared to the other guides, his situation is the most dire of all. The doctors after learning that the guides had suffered a mental backlash that they immediately implemented the procedure to treat them. However, treatment when it comes to mental state can only be cured by another guide. Moreover not all guides possessed the ability to heal broken soul fragments even when this knowledge was spread by the God of Destruction through teaching.
At the Imperial palace...
The Emperor, Ye Wang and the Imperial Duke, Ye Jie were shocked by the reports that were sent to them by the second in command, Hei Cang under the orders of the Crown Prince. They had heard the details of what happened on the remote resource planet and what they had just learned terrified them a lot. This fear had deepened when they had seen the video recording that the drone had captured had shown them.
"How can these zergs have human faces? What’s with those sizes? Aren’t these supposed to be lower grade zergs?!" The Imperial Emperor questioned in disbelief.
Seeing those grotesque figures of these mutated insects with the size of a truck, the people in the throne hall were all shocked, but what horrified them the most was that humongous zerg that had an ant head yet a human body. That isn’t something they had seen in their lives before. Something this unbelievable, if not for the fact that this video is raw and unedited, people would have believed this figure was only something that can be found in the movies.
"What the hell is this!?"
"Look at its size!"
"As big as half that small star’s size."
"How is this possible!?"
"Is this still the Zerg race that we know?"
The ministers in the area were all frightened by the last figure everyone had seen on the video. How can there be something this strange and eerie like that? If not for the fact that this video was brought by someone from the crown prince’s side, none of the ministers would have believed that this time is real.
The Imperial Duke frowned seeing the commotion in the throne hall and then looked at his fatigued brother seated on the throne. Clearly, the effect of this monster zerg’s appearance at this moment was something no one can easily accept. However, they cannot run away from reality and this monster indeed exists in reality. "Have you all calmed down now?" Emperor Ye Wang asked.
His stern eyes landing on the ministers instantly waking them up from their fear. They started releasing some cold sweats as they avoided the eyes of the emperor by lowering their heads. It seems they had accidentally ignored the emperor because of that thing in the video.
The Imperial Emperor said, "This is only a video. Don’t tell this emperor that you would react in such a way when that monster invaded our empire!? Have you embarrassed yourself enough! Instead of thinking of running away, we should think of a way of killing it. Only when it is dead will our empire be safe. Do you understand?!"
"Yes, your majesty!" The ministers collectively responded.
Even though at their hearts they were already calculating things about how to leave the empire to escape and some were even frightened by the sudden seriousness of the emperor, it cannot change the fact that something they didn’t expect to appear in one of the empire’s resource planets.
The Imperial Emperor looked at Hei Cang who had sent the message of the Crown Prince and only the emperor and the duke had realized that the crown prince didn’t come to the throne hall to report himself but instead just sent a subordinate. Something like this had never happened before. The Crown Prince would always complete his duties as the heir no matter what the situation was and reporting to the emperor face to face was something he would never ignore.
But now, the diligent crown prince didn’t even report himself and only sent his second in command and this action of his says more than just not appearing in the throne hall. Realizing this the Imperial Emperor and the Imperial Duke’s faces turned even more serious.
Emperor Ye Wang spoke, "Hei Cang, why didn’t the crown prince come to report himself?"
"Answering to his majesty! During the expedition to the resource planet, the Crown Princess had suffered an injury and was still in coma. It was speculated as a backlash from mental backlash. The Crown Princess had used his mental energy to investigate the whole resource planet then afterwards he suddenly puked blood and started bleeding on his seven orifices. However, before the Crown Princess had fainted, he told the Crown Prince to retreat and leave that resource planet immediately. What happened after is what the video had captured. If not for the Crown Princess’s warning and the Crown Prince’s resoluted command, maybe none of us would have escaped and survived from that monster." Second in command Hei Cang reported.
The moment the soldier had informed them about what happened to the Crown Princess, the Imperial Duke was the most shocked. The Crown Princess was after all his son, as his father there is no way he would be able to remain calm knowing that his own child had suffered that kind of energy.
Lord Ye Jie was about to leave only to be stopped when his brother, the Emperor, grabbed his wrist as they were at each other’s side.
"Calm yourself. Listen first." The Imperial Emperor, Ye Wang said.
The Imperial Duke had forced himself to calm down and gripped his hand into a fist that it almost bled. Seeing his brother like this, the Imperial Emperor can already imagine what kind of state his silly son would have right now. The one who was in coma was after all, his crown princess, and the person he had chosen to share a lifetime with, now bedridden most likely in an ICU surrounded by doctors.
Sigh~
"The Court Meeting will be adjourned for now until further details have been received." The Imperial Emperor said. "The summons would be sent after the situation had stabilized. Everyone can leave now."
"Yes, your majesty!"
Once all the ministers had left the throne hall, leaving only the messenger and the duke with the emperor, their conversation continued.
The Imperial Duke asked the messenger, "What else haven’t you reported yet? How is my son!?"
"Hih~ no one knows what the Crown Princess has seen on that planet. He had fainted after giving the Crown Prince the warning. According to the prince, the Crown Princess’s soul domain had most likely been injured. As you had witnessed, that monstrous zerg can actually speak like a human and is most likely the kind who uses mental energy to attack. The reason we are sure is because while we were escaping it shouted and materialized its mental energy trying to attack us. If not for the group hard work of every guide on the ships that we would most likely get caught by that monster!" Hei Cang said as he finally looked at the duke and said, "But the crown princess’s state is unknown. We had called for help from the duchess who might be able to save the crown princess."
The moment the duke heard these words his face turned pale and immediately turned his head to look at his Emperor brother, "Brother, I would like to check on my son."
"Wait for me to change my clothes. I am coming with you and see that son of mine," said the Imperial Emperor.
