Chapter 630 - 457: Setting Off for Storm Cape, the Flowing Wind Giant Dragon’s Rage
Chapter 630: Chapter 457: Setting Off for Storm Cape, the Flowing Wind Giant Dragon’s Rage
The dragon’s thousand-meter-long body hovered above Black Stone Territory, like a moving volcano.
The Blazing Flame Giant Dragon’s eyes, scorching like molten lava, gazed down on the ant-like crowd below as it snorted two streams of searing, sulfurous air from its nostrils.
An irresistible pressure, born from a higher Life Level, swept down like a tangible tide.
Within the camp, all the warhorses whinnied in terror, anxiously pawing the ground. Some were even forced to their knees.
Even the Mammoths and Earth Dragons grew agitated, swinging their long trunks and stomping their massive feet, letting out a series of low roars.
The Knights turned pale, feeling as though a red-hot branding iron was pressed against their chests, making it difficult to even breathe.
This was the pressure of a Catastrophe Level being!
Its mere presence could make all things tremble.
Raylo walked out of his tent and looked up at the visitor.
"ROAR!"
A dragon’s cry echoed from within the camp.
It was the Golden Dragon Sun.
It spread its wings and flew into the air. Its golden Domain Power radiated outward, forming what looked like a little sun, barely managing to hold back the scorching pressure from above and creating a sanctuary for the camp below.
The Blazing Flame Giant Dragon in the sky seemed to notice the aura of its own kind below, and its terrifying pressure receded slightly.
A hearty, booming laugh echoed from the dragon’s back.
"Hahaha! Raylo, my nephew! That little golden dragon of yours is quite spirited!"
A strapping figure leaped from the dragon’s back.
He used no magic or tools, simply leaping from hundreds of meters in the air. Yet his body was as light as a feather, and he landed steadily on the ground without making a sound.
The newcomer was tall and powerfully built, half a head taller than even Gaius.
He wore crimson royal robes, and his short, fiery-red hair stood on end like steel needles, giving him an explosive sense of power.
This was none other than the King of the Blazing Flame Kingdom, Otto III, who had come at Raylo’s invitation to travel with him to Storm Cape.
"Uncle Otto."
Raylo went to greet him, a perfectly composed smile on his face.
"Your presence brings great honor to Black Stone Territory."
"Hahaha, you kid! You’re a Count in your own right and the Crown Prince of the Duchy now. Why still so formal?"
Otto III clapped Raylo heavily on the shoulder with his massive, fan-like hand. The blow was so forceful that even Raylo felt his shoulder dip slightly.
He sized Raylo up unabashedly, his eyes full of admiration.
"Not bad, not bad at all! You’re much better than those sons of mine, who just waste their time with women!"
Otto III exclaimed.
"I heard you pulled off something big in the Jade Swamp not too long ago."
A flicker of curiosity crossed his eyes.
"Even a projection of the Nine-headed Demon Serpent showed up, and you still made it out in one piece. Kid, you’re becoming harder and harder for me to read."
Raylo smiled, his reply neither humble nor arrogant.
"I was just lucky. A few friends happened to be passing by and decided to help."
He didn’t elaborate on the details of the battle, especially not on the existence of Great Elder Gu.
’Some trump cards were best kept secret.’
Otto III evidently understood this, as he didn’t press the issue and simply let out another booming laugh.
"Luck is a part of power, too! Come on, nephew, I’ve heard Black Stone Territory has a new strong liquor. I have to drink my fill today!"
"I’ve already prepared some for you."
Raylo turned to the side, gesturing for him to proceed.
He had prepared a grand welcoming feast specifically for this Catastrophe Level powerhouse.
As night fell, the main command tent in Black Stone Territory was brightly lit.
The long banquet table was laden with all sorts of delicacies and fine food.
There was a whole roasted goose sizzling in its own fat, a deep-sea giant crab rushed in from Seagull Port, and a variety of rare fruits from the territory.
Of course, the most eye-catching things were the massive oak barrels in the center of the table.
The barrels contained Giant’s Strong Alcohol, a new magic strong alcohol brewed in Black Stone Territory with Elemental Spring Water as its primary ingredient.
Otto III was clearly a man of hearty disposition. He directly filled a massive Cow Horn Cup to the brim with the amber liquid and downed it in one go.
"Ha! Good stuff!"
He wiped his mouth, a look of satisfaction on his face.
"This liquor... it’s strong! It’s got a kick! Much better than those effeminate fruit wines we have in the Royal Capital!"
Raylo smiled and refilled his cup.
The atmosphere at the feast was lively. Gaius and a few officers from the Thunder Dragon Knight Order kept Otto III company, trading toasts and swapping interesting stories from the battlefield.
Raylo’s gaze, however, kept drifting to a corner of the feast.
An unremarkable-looking old man was sitting there.
It was none other than the Great Elder of the Hill Giants, Gu, disguised in human form.
Gu did not join in the conversation. He just sat by himself, unhurriedly tearing meat off a roasted leg of lamb and occasionally lifting his cup for a small sip. His cloudy eyes surveyed everyone at the feast with great interest.
This Catastrophe Level powerhouse had concealed his aura so masterfully that Otto III had somehow not discovered the old man’s true identity.
Raylo picked up his own cup and walked over to Gu’s side.
"Great Elder, is the food to your liking?"
he asked softly.
Gu looked up, glanced at Raylo, and a hint of a smile flashed in his cloudy eyes.
"Not bad. You humans are indeed more talented than us Giants when it comes to eating."
