Every Sentinel I Dreamed of Came Looking for Me

Chapter 335: Caught in a Passionate Kiss, Dying of Embarrassment

Chapter 335: Chapter 335: Caught in a Passionate Kiss, Dying of Embarrassment

Yun Sheng paused in her tracks, a stunned expression crossing her face. She probably hadn’t expected Si Jin to ask such a question out of the blue. A few seconds later, she sighed helplessly, her tone tinged with exhaustion.

"I just got to the Tower, and I’ll probably be swamped soon. There are already so many troublesome matters to deal with lately. I haven’t figured out how to talk to Bai Ye yet, or how to act around him. I just feel like if I go tell him I like him right now, the timing wouldn’t be right. It’s better to just keep my distance and keep things simple."

Besides, Bai Ye had told her that morning that he wanted to speak with her privately once Lin Yueyao’s matter was handled. It wouldn’t be too late to tell him then.

Si Jin gazed at Yun Sheng’s slightly furrowed brow. He reached out, his thumb gently smoothing the crease between her eyebrows. "Yun Sheng, just do whatever makes you happy. You don’t need to overthink it."

At the warm touch on her forehead, a soft warmth bloomed in Yun Sheng’s chest. She tilted her head and appraised the man beside her with a beaming smile, a sudden urge to tease him bubbling up. "Speaking of which, aren’t you quite happy that I didn’t lay everything out in the open with Bai Ye?"

Hearing this, Si Jin’s dark eyes settled heavily on her face, quickly darkening with profound intensity. The next second, his grip on her wrist abruptly tightened. Before Yun Sheng could react, he yanked her firmly into his embrace. His tall frame completely enveloped her. Si Jin leaned in slightly, his nose nearly brushing her forehead, his warm breath fanning across her face.

"Yes. At least for now, no one is competing with me for you. At this very moment, you belong entirely to me alone."

He could accept that he wasn’t the only one for Yun Sheng, but he had no intention of hiding his own selfishness, nor would he pretend that he didn’t care she liked someone else.

Yun Sheng stared blankly into his deep, candid eyes, her heart giving an uncontrollable flutter. She stood on her tiptoes, gently cradled his face, and leaned in, pressing her lips against his slightly cool ones.

The moment their soft, warm lips touched, Si Jin’s spine stiffened. After a brief moment of shock, he let go of his restraint. One arm wrapped tightly around her waist while his other hand cupped the back of her head. With slight pressure, he forcefully took control, deepening the kiss.

His movements were far from gentle, laced with a long-suppressed possessiveness—passionate and scorching. He painstakingly traced the shape of her lips, slowly prying open her mouth to recklessly devour her breath.

The long, narrow corridor was absurdly quiet, devoid of any extraneous noise. Only their intertwined, slightly ragged breathing echoed softly in the empty hallway. All the strength seemed to be drained from Yun Sheng’s body. She leaned limply against Si Jin’s chest, her mind completely blank, entirely incapable of coherent thought. She subconsciously gripped his collar, her fingertips tightening as she passively let him pull her deeper into the fiery, lingering kiss.

They kissed for an unknown amount of time. It wasn’t until the nearby elevator suddenly let out a crisp DING that a shred of clarity barely returned to Yun Sheng’s muddled mind. This was immediately followed by the sound of the elevator doors sliding open. Steady footsteps approached from a distance, heading straight toward them.

The sudden noise made Yun Sheng instantly tense up. The heat in her cheeks skyrocketed. In her panic, she pressed her hands against Si Jin’s chest and gave him a gentle push, signaling him to let her go.

Si Jin had naturally heard the footsteps as well. He tactfully loosened his restrictive hold, though his palm remained firmly clamped onto her slender waist.

Yun Sheng’s legs had turned to jelly from the kiss. Her breathing was erratic, her chest still heaving slightly, and she could barely stand steady. If it weren’t for Si Jin steadily supporting her waist, she likely would have slid right onto the floor.

The approaching footsteps abruptly stopped, uncomfortably close to them. After a brief silence, a familiar, rigid, and serious male voice rang out.

"Miss Yun."

It was Bai Ye’s adjutant, Luo Cheng.

Yun Sheng’s temple twitched slightly, her toes practically curling in embarrassment. Her lips were visibly swollen and red, and a lingering layer of mist still clouded her eyes. Anyone with eyes could guess what the two of them had just been doing in the hallway. However, since he had greeted her respectfully, she couldn’t exactly ignore him.

A few seconds later, Yun Sheng forcefully suppressed her inner mortification. Feigning calmness, she looked up and tried to keep her tone as natural as possible. "Deputy Luo."

Luo Cheng’s gaze flicked over Yun Sheng’s reddened, swollen lips before quickly darting away. "I won’t disturb you two any longer. I’m going to look for the General." With a polite nod, he didn’t linger, walking straight past them and continuing on his way.

It wasn’t until his footsteps faded completely that Yun Sheng’s tense body finally relaxed. She let out a soft, frustrated exhale. Beside her, Si Jin looked down at her reddened earlobes. His fingers subconsciously caressed her waist as his deep voice, wrapped in a faint hint of amusement, sounded by her ear.

"Shy?"

The question hit the nail on the head. Flustered, Yun Sheng turned her face away and pushed at his chest, her tone laced with mild reproach. "How do you have the nerve to ask that? It’s all your fault."

Just the thought of Luo Cheng catching them in such an intimate scene made her squirm with unbearable embarrassment.

Si Jin let out a low chuckle. Instead of holding back, he leaned down, his nose lightly brushing against her red, hot ear. His tone was lazy and drawling, tinged with an innocent sort of slyness. "Fault me for what? Obviously, Shengsheng, you were the one who took the initiative to kiss me first."

Yun Sheng’s cheeks burned. She opened her mouth to retort. She had merely felt a sudden urge to kiss him and only meant to give him a quick peck. Who knew this man would completely take over, kissing her so deeply and heavily that she couldn’t even stand? But she was simply too embarrassed to say something so explicit out loud. The words caught in her throat halfway.

In the end, Yun Sheng could only glare at him exasperatedly. However, there wasn’t a trace of genuine anger in her watery eyes; instead, she looked soft and entirely unthreatening.

Si Jin’s gaze naturally fell onto her still-red and swollen lips. His eyes darkened once more, churning with an ill-concealed covetousness. But this time, he restrained himself and didn’t go in for another kiss, afraid he might actually anger her.

"Alright, I’ll stop teasing you." He reined in the dark currents in his eyes, his tone returning to a calm register as he casually smoothed her slightly messy hair. "Can you still walk? Do you want me to carry you?"

Prompted by his question, Yun Sheng belatedly realized the lingering soreness and weakness in her legs. Her cheeks flushed again, and she quickly shook her head. "No need. I can walk by myself."

She certainly didn’t have the guts to let him carry her around a crowded place like the Tower. She had suffered enough embarrassment for one day.

Yun Sheng took the initiative to grab his hand, dragging him toward the elevator. "Let’s get out of here quickly."

Si Jin obediently let her lead him. He matched her unhurried pace, his gentle gaze locked onto her without a single moment of deviation.
