Chapter 266: I Don’t Want to Take You Back to the Lin Family. Let’s Go to My Place, Okay?

Chapter 266: Chapter 266: I Don’t Want to Take You Back to the Lin Family. Let’s Go to My Place, Okay?

Seeing the lingering worry between Yun Sheng’s brows, Si Jin reached out and tapped the tip of her nose, his movements gentle and intimate.

"What’s wrong? Are you still worried?"

As he spoke, a gentle smile graced his lips. Even though he currently wore Lin Mo’s remarkably ordinary face, the innate elegance radiating from his very bones was still incredibly charming in Yun Sheng’s eyes.

Yun Sheng’s brows slowly relaxed as she said softly, "No, with you here, what is there to worry about? You’re so capable; you’ll definitely figure out a solution."

Her voice was soft, the trust in her eyes unconcealed. This man had never let her down. With him by her side, she felt a profound sense of security.

"Mhm," Si Jin replied in a low, doting voice. His fingertips slid up to the crown of her head and gave it a gentle rub. "Let’s go. I’ll take you back."

The two walked side by side toward the elevator. The doors slid open just as they arrived, revealing a packed car inside. It was mostly filled with visiting family members and uniformed medical staff. In the cramped space, people were packed shoulder to shoulder, making it difficult to even turn around.

Si Jin pulled Yun Sheng slightly behind him before wrapping an arm around her waist. Shielding her between his body and the elevator wall, he used his tall, broad frame to isolate her from the pushing crowd.

"Be careful, don’t get squished," he murmured softly in her ear.

His warm breath brushed against her earlobe, carrying a faint, crisp scent that made the tips of her ears quietly flush pink. Sheltered in his embrace, with her body pressed snugly against his chest, Yun Sheng could clearly hear his steady, powerful heartbeat. It was exceptionally reassuring.

The elevator doors slowly closed. As it descended, the crowd swayed slightly. Someone accidentally bumped into Si Jin’s back, but he didn’t budge. He merely tightened his arm on reflex, holding Yun Sheng closer for fear that the jostling crowd might hit her.

His palm was warm, and his grip on her waist was gentle yet firm—never making her feel restricted, but securely keeping her within a safe perimeter. Yun Sheng looked up, meeting his tender gaze. He was looking down at her with intense focus, as if the surrounding crush and clamor didn’t even exist.

DING. The elevator stopped at the next floor, and a few more people squeezed in.

The already cramped space instantly became even more suffocating. Shoved off balance, Yun Sheng swayed, and her forehead brushed against Si Jin’s chin. The warm touch was fleeting, leaving behind a subtle, tickling sensation.

Si Jin abruptly stiffened, his long eyelashes fluttering almost imperceptibly.

Catching this tiny reaction, a flash of mischief darted through Yun Sheng’s eyes, and a lively smile crept onto the corners of her mouth. She rose slightly on her tiptoes and deliberately nudged her forehead against his chin once more. Her movements were gentle and intentionally intimate; like a coquettish little kitten, she was quietly plucking at his heartstrings.

Si Jin’s shoulders and back grew increasingly tense. Gazing down at the sly amusement in her eyes, he gave her waist a helpless squeeze and rasped a warning in her ear, "Stop messing around. There are too many people here."

But Yun Sheng refused to behave. Instead of dialing it back at his words, she purposely raised her hand, curling her fingers as if preparing to tickle his side. Of course, she didn’t actually intend to tickle him; she was just teasing.

Si Jin’s eyes suddenly darkened. The gentle doting in his gaze was instantly replaced by a thick, scorching heat. Instead of dodging, he quickly leaned down, closing the distance between them. Their noses practically touched as he loomed closer, looking as if he were about to kiss her right then and there.

This time, Yun Sheng was the one who went rigid.

The pretty, playful smile on her face vanished without a trace, replaced by a flash of caught-off-guard panic in her eyes. Even her breathing stopped on reflex. She instinctively tried to shrink back, but the hand clamped around her waist held her firmly in place, rendering her immobile.

The elevator was packed. If he actually kissed her here, it would be far too embarrassing. Yun Sheng instantly behaved herself, leaning obediently against the elevator wall and not daring to move a muscle.

Seeing her docile behavior, Si Jin didn’t actually follow through with the kiss. He merely tilted his head slightly and chuckled in her ear, his voice so low that only she could hear, "Be a good girl and stop messing around, or I’ll have to teach you a lesson when we get back."

Biting her lower lip, Yun Sheng gave a small nod, her cheeks burning hot. She leaned there obediently for the rest of the ride, discarding any thoughts of teasing him again. Otherwise, she had a feeling that she would be the one ending up embarrassed!

DING. Before long, the elevator finally arrived at the basement level.

The doors opened, and the crowd filed out in an orderly fashion. Si Jin continued to hold Yun Sheng tightly by the waist, carefully shielding her as they avoided the rush and quickly stepped out of the elevator.

The lighting in the underground parking lot was dim, illuminated only by the faint, warm glow of the corridor lights. It was quiet all around, completely free from the disturbance of others—a stark contrast to the cramped and noisy elevator.

Si Jin led Yun Sheng to a silver-gray hovercar and lightly tapped the sensor area on its body. The doors slid open. He stepped aside to let Yun Sheng in first before getting in himself, reaching back to close the door and shutting out all external noise.

Yun Sheng had barely settled into her seat when Si Jin leaned toward her. He cupped the back of her neck with one hand—his grip gentle yet firm, leaving her no room to dodge. He bent closer, his thin lips pressing lightly against hers. There was no impatience, only a tender, lingering exploration, as if he were cherishing a rare and priceless treasure.

His kiss carried that same faint, crisp scent. Coupled with the warmth of his palm, it slowly invaded Yun Sheng’s senses. Gentle yet carrying an irresistible, scorching heat, it completely enveloped her.

Yun Sheng stiffened for only a second before relaxing. She reached up to lightly wrap her arms around Si Jin’s neck, her fingers clutching his collar as she returned the kiss. The warm light inside the cabin spilled softly over the two of them, illuminating her flushed cheeks and the fine, watery sheen welling in her eyes. Even their breathing grew entangled.

Si Jin deepened the kiss, his fingertips gently caressing the nape of her neck in a slow, restrained rhythm.

An unknown amount of time passed before he finally released her, resting his forehead against hers, his breathing still somewhat ragged. The burning heat in his eyes hadn’t yet faded. He brushed a stray drop of moisture from the corner of her lips, murmuring in a husky, sensual voice, "You were quite bold back there."

There wasn’t a hint of reproach in his tone, only a deep, melting indulgence and partiality, as if he would unconditionally accept and embrace absolutely everything about her.

Yun Sheng leaned limply into his embrace, her chest still rising and falling as she tried to catch her breath. Her long lashes fluttered, but she said nothing. But those beautiful eyes—misted with fine vapor and wet like glass submerged in warm water—stared straight up at him. The sight made his heart run hot; he couldn’t tear his gaze away.

The desire Si Jin had just managed to suppress surged once more. Locking his burning gaze on her, his lips trailed downward, pressing a kiss to the soft, delicate skin of her neck.

Then, his hoarse voice sounded by her ear again.

"I don’t want to take you back to the Lin family’s home anymore. Let’s go to my place, okay?"
