Chapter 3890: Summoned
Chapter 3890: Summoned
Alex was surprised by the intensity of the Worldly Laws that descended around him. The Dao of Purging had to be quite a difficult Dao to learn, since the aura he could absorb this time around was much stronger than what he could with the individual Water Daos.
It was so strong that it was close enough to the True Water Dao in terms of strength.
Alex’s cultivation speed was now much faster than before, and on top of that, he ate a cultivation pill to boost it by nearly tenfold. With his Blood Essence long since healed, Alex was now cultivating at a speed nearly on par with when he cultivated the True Water Dao.
The Worldly Laws lasted for 3 hours, during which Alex did his best to learn the Dao as slowly as he could in order to keep the aura around. However, after 3 hours, he had completely learned the Dao of Purging, and so the Worldly Laws retreated entirely.
Alex cultivated with what remained, but very soon, everything was gone.
He sighed slowly, though he wasn’t disappointed at all. Just 3 hours of cultivation had given him progress equivalent to 3 years. On pure efficiency alone, this was better than when he learned the Water Daos.
Alex attempted to cultivate for a while after that, but he received two messages not long after.
The first one was from his master, notifying him that the Fire God had arrived. The second one was from the Sky God, asking him to come over to her palace whenever possible.
Considering the two messages, Alex could understand what was happening.
The Fire God had arrived and now wanted to meet him.
"What great timing," he said with a sigh and slowly ended his cultivation session over the next several hours. He shut down the formation and put it away before leaving to meet with his family.
Only Ronron wasn’t in deep cultivation at that moment, and that too because she was waiting to accompany him to the palace.
"Congratulations on your new Dao, Father. Was that a Yang Dao?" she asked.
Alex nodded. "It was the Dao of Purging," he said. "Is the Fire God demanding to see me?"
Ronron nodded. "That appears to be the case," she said, sounding slightly worried. "Will you be alright, Father?"
Alex smiled and rubbed her head. "Don’t worry about me. I’m like a cockroach. I won’t die so easily."
He notified Bladedance that he was about to go meet with the Fire God and quickly got a message in return saying that she was already there, waiting for him.
At least Alex could be happy about that.
"Do you know how quickly battles between Gods take place?" Alex asked Ronron. "I don’t think you’ve witnessed one yet, but you must have heard about it, right?"
"Master has mentioned it before. If both parties are present, then one can challenge the other whenever they want," Ronron said. "In most cases, they want a small audience to witness their battles, but for simple Gods, even that isn’t necessary. Master alone is enough."
"Well, I’m not a simple God," Alex said. "But unfortunately, the audience is also already there."
That was an issue for Alex. He wasn’t ready. He hadn’t even had the time to train with his new sword, nor did he have the time to get his robe.
After a brief thought, he brought out a talisman and sent a message to the Artifact God, telling her that the Fire God was there and that he might have to use the robe soon if it was ready.
Not even a few seconds later, he received a message in return.
"The robe won’t be ready for another year at least. I’m close, but not that close," she said. "I made it with a plan to showcase it at the God Council. I did not expect him to come this early."
Alex sighed. It would be unfair to blame her for being late. She was working under different expectations.
"That’s fine, senior. Work at the pace you are. I will think of something," Alex said and put the talisman away.
The talisman buzzed again as he received another message.
"Are you healed? I need you to be healed by the time the robe is made. I believe it will benefit from being Blood Refined."
Alex could see the benefits there. "I’m healed. Let me know when you are close to being done."
With that said, they were ready to leave.
Alex and Ronron made their way out of the courtyard, with Sunflare following close behind. The old man held a complicated look about him that he hadn’t been able to hide from either of the two. After some time, he spoke up.
"What exactly is going to happen to you?" he asked. "Are you going to die?"
Alex looked back while walking. "I’m not sure, senior. It depends on how lenient the Fire God is and how much I’ve angered him by partially stealing his spot as a God."
Sunflare frowned. "You cannot die. You hold our God."
"I will try my best, senior," Alex said.
"Is our God safe?" the man asked almost immediately.
"Of course," Alex said with a strange look. "Why wouldn’t it be?"
"Because of the Yang aura back in the workshop. Did you really not do anything to it?" he asked.
"We did not," Alex answered. "In fact, once I’ve met with the Fire God, I’ll let you check it out for yourself."
That made Sunflare quite relieved.
They arrived at the palace not long after, and Ronron stayed outside while letting Alex go in on his own.
Alex walked into the palace and made his way to the hall where several different Gods were seated. He recognized the Poison God the moment he entered, sitting on one end of a couch, and felt a strong Blood aura from a woman sitting on the other end.
And between them was the man whose aura unmistakably told Alex who he was.
He had finally come face to face with the Fire God.
