Chapter 3846: Three Star Artifacts
Chapter 3846: Three Star Artifacts
The Artifact God was finally done with everything, so she called Alex back to her workshop. He arrived there half an hour later, making Sunflare stay inside the house while he went to meet the Artifact God.
"Did you make both artifacts?" Alex asked as he looked toward the God.
The Artifact God replied by lifting both her hands and letting her large sleeves slide past her forearms, where she wore two artifacts.
On her right arm was the artifact Alex had seen her make before. It was the one that had a bronze body along with intertwining spirals of Softness and Melting.
On her left arm was a newer artifact, a sleeker bracer with two rich brown spirals going around a bluish crystalline body, accompanying Freezing, Rigidity, and Hardness.
"I’ve successfully made both of them," she said finally. "This, I call the Bracer of Reduction. And this, I call the Bracer of Building."
"Decent names," Alex said. "Could be better, but they’re not the worst."
The Artifact God lowered her arms. "I didn’t really think enough to name them any differently. Hmm... let me try."
She took a moment as she looked through the two bracers before nodding.
"Alright, this one is the Three-Star God Reducing Bracer," she said, referring to the bronze bracer. "And this one is the Three-Star God Building Bracer."
Alex blinked for a second, somewhat stunned. "You really came up with that on the spot?" he asked.
"Of course," she said, acting as though it wasn’t much of a big deal.
Alex sighed. "Do you give people and beasts names this quickly too? My beasts say I’m quite bad at naming them."
"What names have you given them?" the Artifact God asked curiously.
"The White Tiger is called Pearl. The Vermilion Bird is called Scarlet. And the Seeking Mouse is called Whisker."
The Artifact God remained unmoving for a long few seconds. "Whisker? Because Seeking Mice have long whiskers?" she asked.
Alex could only shrug.
"Well, the first one isn’t bad. Pearl for a white-furred beast. You can’t blame yourself for that," she said.
"Well, I technically wasn’t the one who named him, so maybe I can," he said in a low voice.
"What?"
"Nothing," Alex said quickly. "Anyway, how did it go with the feather?"
"Pretty great, actually," Shen Yaojia said before quickly bringing out a small reddish-black bead. She tossed it toward Alex, who took it.
Alex held the bead in his palm, a thing that was not even as large as the regular pills he made. "Is this the feather?" he asked, trying to squeeze the thing with his fingers, but despite his enormous strength, he struggled to squeeze it in any meaningful way.
"I reduced and rebuilt it numerous times as I practiced using these two artifacts. Now I’ve grown quite experienced in applying the effects to the materials, though the amount of energy I’ve realized it needs is so enormous that I can’t imagine where we’re going to find it."
"As I said previously, I will be handling that, senior," Alex said. "You haven’t used it on the scale yet, have you?"
"No," the Artifact God said. "I waited for you to come before I could start. Since you’re so confident, I’m sure you know what you’re doing."
"I... sort of am," Alex said. A moment later, he took the Artifact God into his Soul Space, where she arrived inside the fog-ridden world with nothing in sight. Before she could complain about it, he brought along one of the medallions and handed it to her.
The moment she grabbed it, the world appeared all around her.
"Whoa!" she made an audible sound as she looked around the place. The entire place was still quite fascinating to her, especially the tree in the distance that had grown into a massive thing that stretched into the sky, its roots holding onto an entire mountain.
The feeling of seeing the tree was an incredible one.
"Senior, please keep your Divine sense in check," Alex said with a slightly pained expression on the outside.
"Oh, sorry," the Artifact God quickly said, taking it back in. While she hadn’t exactly used it, she had let it leak out of her, which had caused a bit of discomfort to Alex. Once she had it under control, she looked down at the medallion she held.
For a moment, her eyes narrowed. "This... this is a script," she said. "How are you writing scripts?"
"Senior Battlesage has an incredible understanding of runes and scripts," Alex said. "He’s the one who helped set up the formation that runs this entire place."
The Artifact God frowned slightly. "A demon?"
"He’s from Hell," Alex said.
Her expression changed for the better afterward. "I see. I would love to learn about runes if I could," she said.
"Maybe later. For now, we should deal with the scale," Alex said.
"Oh, right."
The Artifact God hurriedly pulled out the Flood Dragon’s scale from her Soul Space, causing Alex to grimace with pain for just a moment. After it was out, there wasn’t much pain at all.
The large scale lay flat on the soil, waiting for either of them to do anything. The Artifact God waited next. "What now?"
"Now, we act," Alex said. A second later, Ray appeared next to the Artifact God, giving her a bit of a scare. She moved back for a moment before Alex calmed her.
"He’s one of my bonded beasts, senior. You don’t have to be scared," he said.
The Artifact God nodded slowly, watching the fiery beast with some level of curiosity. She tried to find a body underneath, but she couldn’t do it.
"Is this your Vermilion Bird?" she asked after a while.
"Hmm? Oh no. This is Ray. He’s more of a spirit than a full beast," Alex said, explaining no further.
"I see," the woman said, not knowing what else to say to that. She looked at the spirit and then focused back on Alex.
"So, what do I do now? How do we start?"
