Chapter 3813: A Surprising Find
Chapter 3813: A Surprising Find
Sunflare was given one of the rooms to stay in, but he was so insistent on being right next to Alex that he wanted to stay in the room Alex was in.
"Senior, I’m going into closed cultivation," Alex told the man. "Surely that is one place where I can be alone."
Sunflare shook his head. "You can ignore me and go about your days as you normally would. But I will never let you out of my sight."
"Even in my own house?" Alex asked.
"Yes."
Alex wanted to ask his master to help get the man away from here, but he didn’t know just how big of an issue that would cause. From what he understood, the people of the Nine Yang Court were a bit zealous, to the point where every other person was a fanatic.
He didn’t want to give fuel to that fire.
Sunflare followed him to his room and found a corner to sit in. He controlled his aura to a point that if Alex didn’t know from the start that the man was there, he wouldn’t have figured it out at all.
Alex narrowed his eyes for a moment, almost feeling that the technique the old man was using was familiar.
"Senior, is that the Immortal Concealment technique?" he asked.
Sunflare’s eyes narrowed suddenly. "You are aware of our technique?"
"Yes, I..." he paused for a second, wondering whether to tell the truth or not. Just in case, he decided not to tell the whole truth. "I am. Well, I’ve heard of it."
"I see. We invented the technique, though it has passed to a few different places after some accidents and thefts," the man said.
Alex nodded slowly. He wondered if the one he found back in the lower realm was one of theirs or one of the stolen ones. He wasn’t too inclined to find that answer right away.
Since everything was set, Alex brought out his platform and placed it before sitting upon it. Once he activated it, a barrier formed around him, within which the time aura began flooding out. Immediately, time moved 20 times faster inside than it did outside.
Alex brought out the various treasures he had and placed them all around him. Then, he closed his eyes and started cultivating. He wasn’t entirely sure how much time he had, but he hoped he at least had a decade’s time to cultivate inside before the Artifact God called him back again.
She would absolutely want him to have learned everything using her technique by then, so throughout the next decade, he would have to take the opportunity to learn it as well. Once he had thought of that much, he closed his eyes and began cultivating.
Outside of the barrier, Sunflare watched Alex cultivating with quite a bit of curiosity. Something about the platform had caught his attention, though as to what it was exactly, he wasn’t sure. More than that, he was a little curious as to why Alex had the treasures out.
They wouldn’t really help anyone cultivate, so he didn’t understand their purpose. He knew people who could only cultivate specific types of Qi, so maybe that was it. But then, based on his knowledge of the various treasures, nothing about them stuck out as being special.
They were generic treasures of all types of elements.
It was a while before Sunflare understood the real purpose of all the treasures.
His eyes widened somewhat when he noticed the speed at which the aura from the treasures was flooding into Alex’s body. At first, he couldn’t believe just how fast the aura was moving into him, but then he noticed that it wasn’t just the aura.
Everything inside was moving just as fast as well.
’Oh! An accelerated temporal cultivation zone,’ the man thought with no small amount of respect for whoever had created this. It was such a simple-looking platform, and yet it was doing something that usually required a direct connection to a spirit vein, while this one ran entirely on spirit stones.
Sunflare prodded no further, but every few days, his curiosity got the better of him, so he pushed his Divine sense into the region around Alex.
At the Celestial realm, it was such a sophisticated Divine sense that it could neither be detected nor did it mess anything up. He kept his sense on the region around Alex, but each time he tried, he could not tell just how fast it was.
He tried several times, and each time, he came away with no answer. After many weeks of trying that to no avail, Sunflare saw only one method to truly find the rate at which Alex was cultivating.
Once again, he pushed his Divine sense inside the region, but instead of keeping it around the area, he pushed it toward Alex, trying to get his Divine sense into him. If he could do that, he could get the answer he needed based on just how fast Alex’s heart was beating.
Sunflare moved his senses through Alex’s body slowly so as not to do anything to interfere with his cultivation. He simply wanted to have his senses reach the heart. Pushing senses inside a human was difficult, even for the Celestial, so he took his time with it.
While he did so, he got to sense the Qi coming in and flowing through Alex’s body quickly before being pushed out. Sunflare’s sense was momentarily caught by this very Qi.
He paused his senses, watching Alex cultivate, as something else entirely caught his attention. For a moment, he refused to even believe that what he was sensing was correct.
However, the more it went on, the more he realized this was correct. In the end, he could stop himself no longer.
"Stop this, right now!" he shouted from the end, forcefully shutting down the formation itself, causing Alex to slowly come out of his cultivation cycle.
He frowned when he realized what had happened. "Senior, you said—"
"How did you learn it?" Sunflare practically screamed his question.
"What?" Alex looked at him in confusion.
"How did you learn the Five Yang Divine Path technique?"
