Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3794: The Body

Chapter 3794: The Body

The Artifact God leaned back in her chair. "What request do you have?"

There were a ton of different things she could have imagined Alex would ask her in that moment, but what he actually ended up asking caught her off guard.

"I want you to train me," Alex said.

The woman froze for a long time, taken aback by Alex’s request. After several seconds, she questioned if she had even heard him correctly at all.

"You want to be trained by me? As in, you want to learn how to make artifacts from me?"

Alex nodded.

The woman let out an involuntary chortle. "Have you even made anything before?" she asked.

"I’m familiar with it, but I haven’t really tried it once I became an Immortal, so I was hoping to be brought up to speed by someone talented. And I cannot imagine there being someone better than you for that task."

The Artifact God found it hard to find anything to say to that.

"But... you’re an Alchemist. What need do you have to learn how to make artifacts?" she asked. "With the money you can earn from selling pills, you can just buy all the artifacts you need."

Alex nodded a little. She wasn’t exactly wrong about that, especially given the fame he had managed to gain by now. Still, he needed to do this.

"There is a sword I must reforge, and I do not want to make any mistake," he said. "As such, I need to learn how to do it the best I can."

The Artifact God still didn’t seem to be in favor of what he wanted to do.

"If it’s just some sword, I can teach you simply. They are one of the easier things to make, after all," she said.

"Not this one," Alex said. "This one will take a lot more than you may be thinking."

The woman couldn’t help but get curious at the mention of that. "What type of sword are you going to make?" she asked.

Alex thought for a moment and brought out Midnight’s body that was in pieces. He held up the metal shards of the Starforged Tungsten, showing them to the woman. "This is my sword. It was destroyed during the battle before I was sent to Hell. It is a blood-refined sword that I made when I was only a Saint, so the spirit inside it hadn’t reached maturity by the time it was destroyed. Godslayer managed to save the nascent spirit when the sword was destroyed."

The woman nodded. "And now you want to reforge it and place the spirit back inside. Is the spirit still safe?"

"Yes," Alex said. "Somewhat."

The woman tapped her chin in thought. "It’s not really that difficult a task. We could perhaps complete it in half a day if we try today. You said you made the sword yourself before? Then this will be much easier."

Alex raised both hands to get her to slow down. "There is more."

The woman paused. "What else?"

"I do want to reforge the sword, but I do not want to use just this at all," he said. "I want it to be an alloy instead."

"An alloy, huh?" she asked, thinking for a bit. "I can think of a few metals that would make good alloys."

"I already have the thing I want to mix with it to form my sword," Alex said. "It’s here."

He brought out the sword he had been using at the moment, the one that housed Midnight and Godslayer’s nascent spirits.

Godslayer’s body.

The woman didn’t react to the sword beyond a slight look of astonishment at the craftsmanship. However, as her eyes moved through the sword, she began realizing what exactly it was that she was looking at. She had never seen it without its corrupting aura, so this was the first time she had been seeing it this close.

She immediately got out of her seat and moved a few steps back out of pure fear. Her eyes widened as she looked at the sword, then back to Alex, and then back to the sword. Her finger trembled slightly as she pointed at it.

"Is that... is that what I think it is?" she asked.

Alex nodded. "This is the sword that goes by the name of Godslayer. As I already told you, however, the spirit is already gone. So it is just a hunk of metal now. An incredible and interesting piece of artifact, no doubt, but still only just a hunk of metal."

"Why... why do you have it?" she asked. "It was supposed to be..."

It took her a moment to connect all the dots. After a moment, she looked up at Alex. "Did Senior Bladedance give it to you?" she asked.

Alex nodded. "Godslayer was trapped inside her Creation. When I found her Creation, I got Godslayer. Then, when I was sent to Hell, where she was trapped as well, I managed to return her Creation. And since I was without a sword, she gave this to me."

The woman could hardly believe her ears.

"That... that is my master’s sword," she said slowly, moving back toward the seat. She reached for it closely, her eyes glowing with a glint of something.

Alex worried for a second that she was going to ask for it back since it should technically belong to her.

He let her have it still.

The Artifact God took the sword and raised it before her, very amused by the presence of the sword in front of her. To many, this was a sword that meant death and destruction. And now, it was just a piece of metal that did nothing at all.

With her master’s death, it had no...

The woman paused.

"This has a spirit inside it," she said as she focused on the sword with great intent. "I’m right. There is some sort of spirit inside it."

She looked toward Alex. "How? How is this possible? You said my master was dead."
