Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3792: Godslayer’s Final Request

Chapter 3792: Godslayer’s Final Request

"I knew the Godkiller had stayed in the palace, but I hadn’t known it was this particular courtyard," Alex said as he looked at the place.

The Artifact God nodded. She looked at the carp for a few seconds before turning toward him. "How did you escape Hell? As far as I am aware, it is not a place you can simply leave. I asked Senior Bladedance, and she said it wasn’t her that did it, but rather you."

"We found a way out through the Void," Alex answered.

"The Void?" the woman asked with no small hint of surprise. "Is there a Voidgate there?"

"No. We had to create an opening to the Void all by ourselves," Alex answered.

"Then that was quite a risky thing to do. You could’ve died."

"Well, it was that or forever remain in Hell. I chose the one that made sense for me."

The woman didn’t say anything more. She remained silent for a while longer before asking another question.

"My master... was he dead before you left Hell or afterward?"

Alex thought for a moment. "He died afterward. But it wouldn’t be wrong to say that he was on his deathbed in Hell."

The Artifact God’s body tensed up when she heard that. "Can you tell me how it happened?"

Alex nodded. "Before I tell you that, however, you must understand one thing, Senior. Godslayer wasn’t your master."

The woman narrowed her eyes in confusion. "What do you mean?"

"Something happened when your master died. His soul ended up mixing with the nascent spirit within the sword, and the Death and Darkness energy inside the sword corrupted him. The resulting figure from that was Godslayer," Alex explained.

"What? That’s not possible," the woman said. "A human soul and an artifact spirit cannot merge."

"They generally cannot merge, yes," Alex said. "But the power within the sword was so strong that it held the two together to the point where they were the same. At that point, while your master’s memories were technically within him, the corruption had made him an entirely new being that wanted to do nothing more than kill the gods involved during the final moments of your master’s passing."

The Artifact God listened to his words intently.

"The corruption never faded away for a long time, until I met him. He tried to take over me, but thanks to my physique, he could not. I was able to suppress him within me, stripping away the corruption. That finally allowed him to get a chance at resting for the first time since he was created and regain his memories."

"Even as he gained the corrupting energy afterward, he never truly became Godslayer ever again. At that time, I thought I was changing him for the better. I never realized that I was simply helping him revert to what he once was. Then, before the Alchemy tournament, he finally gained all of his memories. And you got to see him for himself for the first time."

Shen Yaojia’s eyes were misted already as she kept listening to Alex’s words.

"At that point, the power binding the soul and the spirit was gone. So, he had started separating back into what he really was. A remnant of a soul and a nascent artifact spirit," he said.

The woman gulped. "And that’s how he died?"

Alex paused but then shook his head. "He would’ve died that way, but the Storm God sealed my Spiritual Sea, and something happened that nearly destroyed my sword spirit I had taken in there. Godslayer saved him, but in doing so, he was weakened severely. That accelerated his separation far quicker than it would have happened naturally. At that point, he told me of his plan before he died."

"What... what plan?"

Alex took a deep breath. "He wanted me to absorb his remnant, so I could gain all of his memories as well as his understanding of artifact forging," he said.

The woman’s eyes narrowed. "How does one do that? Do you have a technique for that?"

"No," Alex said. "I accepted his remnant into my Origin. That part of him is now my Creation, and along with it, I have received his memories."

The Artifact God was speechless when she finally heard that. She blinked for several seconds, taking in his words.

"My master... is your Creation? A human soul can be someone’s Creation?"

Alex nodded. "Well, it’s not precisely his soul. It’s a remnant of his soul, and it does seem like it is possible."

"You have his memories then? All of them?" she asked.

"Almost all of them," Alex said. "He was a remnant, so I only have bits and pieces of his memories. But given how long he lived, that’s still many years’ worth of memories. I saw how he and your father met when they were still only slaves captured by the demons. How they worked for the Dark God’s cult. How they separated afterward when he became bigger. I have all the important memories from him, including when he trained you in the Spring Water world for several decades."

Tears streamed down the woman’s face, dripping into her robe and leaving marks on the blue.

Alex watched her for several seconds before continuing.

"He told me when we were still in Hell that he could not survive for much longer and that I needed to reach the Immortal Transcendent realm as soon as I could so he could leave behind those memories. When I next reached it, I was already in the Land of the Blessed Sun. And that is where we had our final goodbye."

The woman kept tearing up.

"Before he gave himself to my Origin, he had just one request," Alex said.

The woman wiped her tears. "What request?"

"He wanted me to tell you just how proud he was of you and everything you’ve accomplished since he died," Alex said. "And that once I received his memories, I should pass along the final inheritance that he never got to pass along to you."
