Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3770: Involved

Chapter 3770: Involved

Silent Night Hall, as Alex understood, was a half-sect, half-organization that mostly dealt with assassinations. They took high-value targets and were well-known for their ability to murder them without leaving a trace, and judging from the situation, they were here to do the same to the young man ahead of him.

The moment Alex realized that, he took Ronron into his Soul Space, wasting not a single second more. With such strong people coming out of nowhere, he couldn’t spare anything for her safety.

Han Zhaofeng let out a harrumph just then. "If you’re here to kill me, then just do it. No need to bark at me like a dog."

He spoke as though he didn’t fear for his life at all.

"If you wanted to live, you should’ve brought over someone stronger," one of the voices said. "A regular Divine Creation realm cultivator will do you no good."

"You’re still talking," Han Zhaofeng said, unafraid.

"Yes, because we do not intend to kill you quickly. You’re going to have to suffer first," another voice added. "The rest, we don’t mind."

Alex frowned. That was the third voice. There were at least 3 people here in total.

Just as he realized that, something struck him. Alex felt at his chest and found a cold metal rod sticking directly into his heart. He hadn’t sensed the attack coming, nor had he seen it. With the surroundings they had created, it was impossible for him to notice anything.

The rod in and of itself wasn’t what was so dangerous about the thing. There was poison laced on the metal, and it was now lodged deep in his heart, poisoning his entire bloodstream.

Had Ronron been there a second too late, she might have been in genuine danger.

He looked down and then looked back up. "Alright," he said out loud. "I had no intention to interfere in your little squabble. But if you’re going to involve me, I’m going to get involved all the way through."

Flames burned around him, bright yellow Sun Fire, pushing against the darkness that was covering the region. Light spread in the darkness, reaching corners that regular light should not have reached in this place.

It was a small area around Alex that was illuminated, but it managed to reach the two Han family members, who looked back at him in some surprise.

Han Zhaofeng’s eyes narrowed, while the female Sentinel merely raised one eyebrow.

Something flew at Alex again, and while he saw it coming this time, it was too late to dodge it. Another thin metal rod lodged itself into his heart, poisoning him again.

"That’s not going to work," Alex said, immediately bringing out his sword to attack in the direction the sound had come from. Massive yellow flames scattered the darkness as they reached the region where the sound came from.

No one was there, so Alex attacked somewhere else.

Something flew in from the side, and Alex barely managed to react this time around. It was a man in black robes, wearing a mask to hide his face. He attacked with a dagger that Alex barely parried. Even as he did, he felt the force of a Divinity behind the attack, throwing him back.

He crashed onto something physical and fell back down. Before he could get back up, the man arrived, the dagger striking Alex as it decapitated him in one strike.

Just as Alex’s head was fully cut off, it healed right back, joining as though nothing had happened. At the same time, Alex swung his sword, striking the Divinity in the chest.

Alex felt the clank of metal on metal and knew that the man had been wearing armor underneath. He felt his neck where he had been cut and frowned a little.

The man was far stronger than Alex had thought he would be. Likely in the Divine Manifestation realm. Defeating such a person was pretty much impossible for Alex at this point, so the only thing he could do was reveal where they were.

Sun Fire burned in all directions around him, pushing on the darkness to its very edge. He could see a figure standing close by, watching with a confused look on his face. At the same time, both of the Han family members were surprised to see Alex still alive.

Alex pushed on the darkness, but he simply couldn’t clear it at all.

The woman stared at him for a long time before speaking up for the first time since the others had arrived.

"Give up, kid. You’re not going to break through this darkness," she said.

Alex didn’t stop, but he looked at her, waiting for more explanation.

"This is someone’s Creation. You’re not going to so easily get rid of it," she added.

Alex’s eyes narrowed. The surroundings weren’t the doing of an artifact? Was he really inside someone’s domain? Was he fighting someone in the Divine Domain realm?

He quickly thought otherwise, mostly because one could use formless creations like this and create a domain-like atmosphere even without actually reaching the Domain realm. This was just a regular Creation as a result.

He looked at the woman. "What do I do then?" he asked. "How do we get out?"

"There is no getting out," a voice said from beyond the visible region in the darkness. "You all die here today."

Alex frowned a little. There was no way he was dying here. He could live on forever unless they destroyed his body and soul, all at once. But what else exactly could he do except wait for the inevitable? There had to be something, right?

"Alright, that’s enough," the woman spoke up again. "You guys have said your fill, so you should leave now. That disciple of yours was the first to try and kill my junior here. His death is not something you have to avenge. Just leave."

The voices went silent for a while before one broke out into laughter.

"Fine. We will kill you first so you won’t have to feel the shame of failing to protect your junior."
