Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3732: All But a Few

Chapter 3732: All But a Few

Over the course of the next week and a half, Alex learned enough about the Dao that Heaven responded to his knowledge.

The Worldly Laws came down, much to the surprise of the people who had entered the room recently. As they watched, Alex consumed the information given to him by the Worldly Laws and fully learned the Dao.

He had now learned the 5th Dao since coming into the trial site, and he saw no sign of stopping. He stood up and immediately went to another room, where a large paper umbrella lay open above the room, from which poured both rain and snow.

Several people sat down half-frozen underneath the constant rain and snow, learning about it.

Alex did so too and ate a pill to aid him with it.

After learning so many similar Daos, Alex had a much easier time learning the next few Daos. Rain and Snow had strong connections to the Dao of Cloud, Dao of Water, Dao of Cold, Dao of Freezing, and Dao of Ice. More than that, Alex had already learned a lot about them throughout the past few months of being here, so learning the remaining ones became quite easy as well.

His full understanding of the Dao of Snow came first, calling on the Worldly Laws. He had been in the room for a little more than a week when he did so, which easily dumbfounded the people who were there. Everyone turned to stare at Alex in awe.

Alex learned the Dao of Snow after half a day of learning from the Worldly Laws, at the end of which the Worldly Laws retreated back into the heaven. The voice returned once again, congratulating him for successfully learning a Dao and giving him over 500 stars.

It told Alex that he had been assigned a new room, but this time Alex didn’t leave.

He had learned a new Dao, but he could tell that the next one was close as well. So, he closed his eyes and continued on as though nothing had happened.

Only 3 days passed when Alex called on the Worldly Laws again, much to the surprise of the people around him.

Learning two Daos in the span of 3 days was something they simply could not comprehend. Although, they only realized much later that Alex wasn’t learning one new Dao, but two instead.

The Dao of Rain was something he had already come close to learning, but along with that, he was also learning the Dao of Liquid.

The Worldly Laws were what truly helped him in learning that Dao. If not for them giving him most of the truth, it would have certainly taken him much longer than this. Alex gained the knowledge of the two Daos, and fully gained it all by the end of the day.

The voice didn’t return this time, nor were any congratulations issued. Alex understood that his refusal to go to the other assigned room had cost him over 1000 stars in that moment, but learning two Daos was worth more than a million stars to him.

He didn’t even feel the slightest hint of regret for not changing rooms.

Once Alex learned the two Daos, there was nothing more left to be learned there. He stood and left, searching for the next room.

He found the next room and entered after some time, only to realize that he was most likely going to fail this time around.

Large crystalline structures that were fully transparent stood in multiple locations around the room, with bright points of light scattered against a much darker background.

As Alex looked through the crystal structures, the points of light in the background bent at strange angles, seemingly no longer following the correct path at all. As he moved, the points of light changed locations as well when viewed through the crystals.

’Refraction,’ Alex thought as he slowly nodded, understanding what this room was trying to teach him. It was one of the stranger Water Daos.

The Dao of Refraction.

Alex sat in an open spot and began to learn the aura, but it became very clear soon enough that the aura was quite different from the rest of the auras. Just like the Dao of Softness, it stood on the edge of the Water Dao tree.

Learning it at any capacity would take a lot of time, and having learned 4 different Daos over the past three and a half weeks, Alex simply didn’t have that time.

Without a doubt, when the month came to an end, he failed to produce the aura.

Finally, after 3 months, he could no longer continue.

Alex stood from his seat, alongside the others around him who too had failed. He took a deep breath, going through his mind at the few Daos he still had left to learn.

Of the Water Daos he was aware of, there were 3 Daos remaining that he needed to learn if he wanted to learn the True Water Dao.

Those were the Dao of Drying, the Dao of Refraction, and the Dao of Cleansing.

Had Alex gotten the chance, he could’ve likely learned the Dao of Drying, but since he didn’t find a single room with that aura, he hadn’t gotten the chance.

The Dao of Refraction was unfortunately a bit too much for him in such a short time, and he didn’t get to learn it either.

As for the Dao of Cleansing, Alex knew close to nothing about it at all, except for the fact that it was somehow involved in healing. This was the Dao that came from the property of water to heal wounds. Unfortunately, he hadn’t had the chance to learn it now.

Hopefully, he could do so soon in the future.

Thinking as much, Alex walked through the long corridor that led the way out of the trial site, and after 3 whole months of being there and learning 8 different Daos, he finally emerged outside.
