Chapter 3722: Pings
Chapter 3722: Pings
Lan Suyin was ahead of all of them, so she walked onto the platform first. There, she began using her Daos in subtle ways that didn’t produce any recognizable outcome, but it was enough for the artifact to record the fact that she had indeed learned a Dao.
Each time one of her Daos was accepted, the artifact gave out a loud pinging sound that everyone heard no matter where they were.
With Lan Suyin, there were 5 pings in total before she got off the platform.
"Hmm, I was aware of her Dao of Sharpness and Dao of Cutting. I wonder what other Daos she has," Zi Mengyao mused out loud.
Since Lan Suyin had learned 5 different Daos, if she managed to learn a new one, she would get 50 stars in total.
Alex wondered if the people who prepared this test had made it with the thought in mind that the more Daos one learned, the harder it would be to learn another.
But truthfully, that was not correct at all.
Or at least, Alex didn’t believe it was. Learning a different Dao that wasn’t related to a previous one was certainly difficult, and he would even accept that the chances of someone learning it were quite low. But if it was a similar Dao, the chances were much better.
After Lan Suyin, Jin Haoran walked up with his green and gray robes fluttering in the wind.
He stood atop the platform and slowly began to use his Daos. The pings came from the artifact one after another, quickly reaching 5 and then crossing it.
He stopped at 7 in total, which surprised a few people there, but not many. It appeared that most expected Jin Haoran to have so many Daos.
Zi Mengyao walked up next and stepped onto the platform. 3 pings in total came from the artifact. And while that was quite low compared to the others who had come before her, 3 different Daos were by no means a small amount. A person only ever needed a single Dao to become an Immortal. With 3, they had the talent to become an Immortal 3 times over.
After her was Luo Sheng, but before he entered, his Sentinel did.
The Divinity who hid in plain sight recorded 5 Daos in total and walked in. Luo Sheng went after him and made 4 pings.
Of the group, Jin Haoran was still the most talented of them all.
Xu Tianle walked up next and immediately made 8 different pings before walking off the platform. Many were surprised there, as it appeared that no one had been aware that Xu Tianle had 8 Daos in total.
Han Yifei walked up next, taking her turn to showcase her 6 Daos. She walked out and turned toward Fang Xianhai, waiting for him to go on ahead.
Fang Xianhai turned toward Alex with a smile. "You should go before me," the young man said. "I might end up overshadowing you if I do it before you."
Alex raised an eyebrow. "Is that so?" he asked. "Aunt Liz, do you want to go first?"
"Sure," Liz said. "I definitely have the fewest Daos among everyone here, after all."
Liz walked up to the platform and began using all of her Daos, one after another. Alex didn’t know how many Daos she had altogether, but it was surely more than a few.
Liz had already had 3 Daos back when she was still in the Northern Continent, so she had to have learned a few more by now.
There were 3 successive pings that came one after another at a quick speed. It was a little faster than what the others had done, but speed wasn’t a factor here anyway. The next ping came after a slight delay.
The fifth one came at a regular pace.
Alex couldn’t see or sense anything inside the platform when using his Demon Eyes or spiritual sense, so he could only wonder what Daos Liz was using. No doubt, some of them had to be Time Daos. But those couldn’t be the only ones she had.
There was another ping a moment later, and then another one. Finally, with the 8th ping, she walked out of the platform.
"8 Daos," Fang Xianhai said with a strange look on his face.
8 was the highest among the group of younger generations that had gathered there, not counting him, so he was quite surprised to see such a result. He looked at Liz for a short while before noticing the next person walking up ahead.
Ronron decided to take on the next challenge, deciding that she didn’t want to go after Helen, as that would only suck.
She started with her Wood Daos first, before planning on moving over to the Space Daos.
There was an instant ping, followed by another ping every few seconds, until there were 7 Daos in total. It all came at such speed that everyone was left watching with looks of awe.
The 8th ping came a few seconds later, but to everyone’s surprise, the tone of the ping itself suddenly changed. It was closer to a tong than a ping. It sounded heavier, almost with a shockwave-like pushing force behind the sound.
Alex was surprised. He couldn’t tell how Ronron had done that.
"A Greater Dao!" Fang Xianhai said with genuine surprise in his voice.
"What did you say?" Alex asked.
"That lady... she has a Greater Dao," the man repeated.
Alex looked back. So that sound belonged to a Greater Dao being used?
The same sound came again, just as loud as the last one. Fang Xianhai held his head in shock. "2 Greater Daos," he said in almost a whisper.
Alex was curious what two Greater Daos his daughter had. He wanted to learn so much more. There had been 9 total sounds by now, although Alex believed that 2 of those were just combinations of the first 7.
Then, the normal pings returned, sounding out loud 6 more times in total before stopping.
In total, Ronron had made 15 different pings, the highest that had been seen until now.
