Chapter 3633: A Big Number
Chapter 3633: A Big Number
Completely opposite of his lowest score, his highest score had ended up being 7250. That was such an absurdly high number that Alex couldn’t even wrap his mind around it.
For his baseline highest, Alex had only received a 2154, so this was nearly 3 and a half times as high as that.
Even when using a cultivation pill, Alex’s highest had only reached 16,834, and that had been nearly 8 times higher speed. How many times higher would it be if he were to perform the same test with a cultivation pill?
Even his average speed had quite surprised him at the moment as it had reached 1729. That was just 30 scores away from reaching his average on baseline. That was such a small number that Alex could chalk it up to coincidence. If he redid it, he could maybe even reach that number.
Alex rubbed his forehead for a moment, failing to understand how he was doing almost the same, and at some point even better, with just 2 roots, instead of when he cultivated with all 8 roots.
He was excited to perform the same test while using a cultivation pill, so he got to it right away, wasting not a single more second.
This time, his roots started with the other extremes, both ignoring each other, doing only their best to cultivate. Some time later, however, as though noticing each other’s presence, they moved right back to disrupting each other. Some time later, they ignored each other again and got right back to absorbing Qi again.
The back and forth between the two extremes was quite hilarious for Alex, and he looked forward to seeing how that was affected by the pill he ate. It was bound to change the numbers drastically as well.
He could tell that just by the feeling of the cultivation speed he experienced throughout certain periods in his two months of cultivation.
Once Alex was done, he checked the score again. This time, he could only keep staring at it with wide eyes, unable to believe those numbers were real.
At the lowest, compared to 3455 he had received on the baseline test, Alex now received a measly 265. It was less than twice the score without using a pill, and was truly the worst score he had received when using a pill.
But Alex knew that already. He understood that the improvement the pills gave a person was exponential in value, meaning if they were small, they would also improve by a small margin. However, when they were big, they would certainly explode in value.
That was what Alex’s eyes had been drawn toward at that very second. His highest speed on baseline using a pill had been 16,834, which was about 8 times higher than his highest speed on baseline.
However, at that moment, the number before him wasn’t just high, it felt impossible.
71,567. That was the highest score Alex had received.
It was such a high number that Alex wanted to believe the formation may have misregistered entirely. However, the feeling he had gotten when cultivating could not have been faked in any way, so he could only believe it.
Still, 71 thousand was such a high number.
His average was also quite high, reaching 9844. That was slightly higher than the baseline average with a pill as well, but considering the swings his cultivation speed had done throughout the session, he didn’t think too much of the number.
His regular speed reached such a number steadily after all. And that mattered more than anything.
However, that didn’t mean that he was just going to ignore his current result. The 71 thousand was too big a number to just ignore and go back to the 9 thousand.
If he could somehow make the two spirit roots not register each other and only force them to focus on themselves, could he permanently improve his cultivation speed at all?
If so, how could he do that?
Through a pill? Maybe by asking the heavens?
Nothing immediately came to mind. If there was a pill, he didn’t have a recipe for it yet. If he had to ask the heavens, then he didn’t have any Primordial energy to make it happen yet.
Either way, he wasn’t going to make those changes just yet as he had to first finish this experiment after all. He could deal with making those changes after all the tests were complete.
There was no way for Alex to create two non-supreme Yin or Yang roots, so there wasn’t a point in testing it either. He could merely hypothesize an outcome and move on.
Alex was ready to move on to the next stage of his testing, where now he would test the combination of 3 spirit roots at once, each at varying strengths. He hoped a few of those would be enough to extrapolate for the entire root system, but he wouldn’t know until he tried.
For now, he let his spirit roots return to normal and cultivated normally for the next two months so that he could undo any damage his body might have accidentally started learning to be permanent.
There was always the danger of that, so he had to cultivate regularly. He was also getting close to a breakthrough, so he considered doing so before moving on to the next stage.
However, as he cultivated, Alex noticed something.
His cultivation speed was quite a bit faster than before, almost to a point where he felt something was wrong again. Having cultivated normally for so long, he couldn’t have been mistaken about his regular cultivation speed, so he clearly was faster.
But how was that possible? Had all the other tests somehow made him faster in general?
What had changed?
Just as Alex thought that, the answer immediately came to him.
"My Yin root!"
During the start of the tests, he had cultivated his baseline statistics using his regular Supreme Yin Root, which was affected by his body. However, right now, it wasn’t.
As such, his cultivation speed was showing some unexpected improvements.
