Chapter 776 - 380: Even Greater Combat Power

Chapter 776: Chapter 380: Even Greater Combat Power

Bai Lin suddenly spoke, his voice tinged with excitement.

"Deep underground? How do we get there?"

Li Chang’an asked.

"The control center has an elevator to the lower levels. It’s in the corner of the hall!"

Bai Lin said, pointing to a corner of the hall.

Li Chang’an followed Bai Lin’s gaze and, sure enough, spotted an inconspicuous metal door in one of the corners.

"Let’s go, we’ll check it out!"

Li Chang’an said, leading his team members toward the metal door.

Upon reaching the metal door, Li Chang’an examined it carefully.

The metal door bore no markings and looked ordinary, but it emanated a cold, sinister aura that was unsettling.

"This must be the elevator to the lower levels!"

Shen Qiuyue said.

"Be careful. There could be an ambush inside!"

Li Chang’an warned, drawing his Saw Chain Sword.

"Sun Yang, Ruo Xi, Qiuyue, you three go in first and scout. Bai and I will bring up the rear!"

Li Chang’an commanded.

"Understood!"

Sun Yang, Han Ruoxi, and Shen Qiuyue nodded and cautiously pushed the metal door open.

Behind the door was a cramped elevator car.

The car was empty, an old model waiting silently for passengers.

"It’s empty. We’re safe!"

Sun Yang said, peeking inside the car.

"Get in!"

With a wave, Li Chang’an led his team members into the elevator.

The elevator doors closed slowly, and the car began its descent.

The elevator descended at a crawl, as if sinking slowly into a subterranean abyss.

The car was silent, save for the hum of its machinery and the sound of the team’s soft breathing.

"This elevator is so slow!"

Sun Yang complained, breaking the silence.

"Patience. We’ll be there soon."

Shen Qiuyue said, her tone calm.

The elevator continued to descend, and time seemed to stretch on.

Finally, the elevator slowed to a stop and the doors opened.

Beyond the doors lay a massive underground space.

The space was dimly lit, and a pungent, nauseating odor permeated the air.

All sorts of experimental equipment were arranged throughout the space. Metal shelves were piled high with test tubes, beakers, and other unknown containers that emitted a faint, eerie glow.

A number of people in white protective suits bustled around the equipment, so focused on their work that they seemed completely unaware of Li Chang’an and his team’s arrival.

"This... is the experiment site?"

Han Ruoxi asked, her voice trembling as she took in the scene.

"Looks like it."

Li Chang’an nodded, his cold gaze sweeping across the entire underground space.

"Stay alert. Prepare for battle!"

Li Chang’an said in a low voice, drawing his Saw Chain Sword.

"Charge!"

Li Chang’an roared, charging out of the elevator first.

His team members followed close behind, rushing out as well.

"Who are you?!"

The researchers, startled by the sudden appearance of Li Chang’an and his team, whipped their heads around to stare in terror.

"Interstellar Warrior Corps!"

Li Chang’an said coldly. With a swing of his Saw Chain Sword, he instantly cut down several of the researchers.

"Enemy attack! Enemy attack!"

The researchers screamed in panic, scattering in all directions.

"Kill them! Leave no one alive!"

Li Chang’an commanded ruthlessly, his Saw Chain Sword reaping the researchers’ lives like the Scythe of Death.

Han Ruoxi, Shen Qiuyue, and Sun Yang also attacked, beginning their slaughter of the researchers.

Han Ruoxi’s Electric Superpower was devastating. She unleashed crackling arcs of electricity that scorched the researchers black.

Shen Qiuyue’s Swordsmanship was exquisite. The glint of her blade flashed like a dancer’s ribbon—light, graceful, and lethal. Each strike found a researcher’s vital point with perfect precision.

Sun Yang shouldered his Pulse Gun and unleashed a torrent of fire on the researchers. Beams of Pulse Energy shot out, blasting them off their feet.

Though numerous, the researchers were just scientists with no combat ability. Before the Insect Hunter Squad, they were like lambs to the slaughter, utterly defenseless.

The battle quickly became a one-sided massacre.

The researchers screamed and fled as the Insect Hunter Squad cut them down, but there was no escape. One by one, they collapsed into pools of their own blood.

"Captain, there’s something over there!"

Sun Yang said suddenly, pointing in a certain direction.

Li Chang’an followed Sun Yang’s gaze. In the depths of the underground space, a massive glass container was emitting an eerie light.

Submerged inside the container was an enormous creature. It had a bizarre shape, like a hybrid of a human and some animal, its body covered in scales and tentacles. It was a terrifying sight.

"What is that thing?"

Han Ruoxi asked, her face pale and her voice trembling as she stared at the monster in the glass container.

"A bio-weapon!"

Li Chang’an said, his voice ice-cold and his eyes filled with disgust.

"This is the result of their experiments?"

Shen Qiuyue said with a frown, a hint of revulsion in her tone.

"It must be."

Li Chang’an nodded.

"We have to destroy it!"

Li Chang’an said firmly, striding toward the glass container.

"Captain, be careful! That thing looks dangerous!"

Sun Yang quickly warned him.

Li Chang’an didn’t say a word and continued walking forward.

Reaching the glass container, Li Chang’an carefully observed the monster inside.

The monster’s eyes were shut tight, as if it were asleep. Its body, however, was twitching faintly, as though it could awaken at any second.

’I must destroy it as soon as possible. I can’t give it a chance to wake up!’

Thinking this, Li Chang’an raised his Saw Chain Sword and swung it fiercely down at the glass container.

BOOM!

With a tremendous crash, the Saw Chain Sword shattered the glass container. The liquid inside instantly gushed out.

The liquid splashed onto the floor, hissing as it corroded the surface, leaving behind smoking, pitted holes.

As the liquid drained away, the monster from the container was fully exposed.

The monster let out a piercing shriek and snapped its eyes open.

Its eyes were blood-red, filled with madness and bloodlust. It stared fixedly at Li Chang’an, its gaze brimming with hostility.

ROAR!

The monster roared again, leaping from the shattered container and lunging at Li Chang’an.

"Look out!"

Sun Yang yelled.

Li Chang’an was prepared. In a flash, he dodged the monster’s lunge.

The monster missed its target and crashed heavily to the floor, making the ground tremble.

The monster immediately scrambled back to its feet and lunged at Li Chang’an again—incredibly fast and powerful, like a wild beast.

"Hmph, you beast!"

Li Chang’an snorted, meeting the monster’s attack with his Saw Chain Sword as the two clashed.

The Saw Chain Sword clashed against the monster’s claws, producing a piercing screech of metal and sending sparks flying.

The monster was incredibly strong. Each swipe of its claws was heavy and powerful, carrying astonishing destructive force.

But Li Chang’an’s Body Technique was agile and his Swordsmanship masterful. He always managed to deftly dodge the monster’s attacks while looking for an opening to counter.

Han Ruoxi, Shen Qiuyue, and Sun Yang also joined the fight, surrounding the monster.

Han Ruoxi’s Electric Superpower inflicted immense damage. Arcs of electricity slammed into the monster, causing it to convulse and shriek in agony.

Shen Qiuyue’s Swordsmanship was exquisite. The glint of her blade was like a butterfly flitting among flowers, leaving a series of bleeding wounds across the monster’s body.

Sun Yang’s Pulse Gun was also highly effective. Beams of Pulse Energy shot out, blasting the monster and leaving it a bloody mess.

The Insect Hunter Squad had excellent teamwork and formidable power. Ferocious as the monster was, it was gradually losing ground under their coordinated assault.

The monster’s body became covered in more and more wounds. It bled profusely, and its aura grew steadily weaker.

Finally, with one last strike from Li Chang’an, the monster let out a final wail. Its massive body crashed to the ground, its Vitality completely gone.

The monster had been completely slain by the Insect Hunter Squad.

"Huu... We finally took care of it!"

Sun Yang let out a long breath, wiping the sweat from his forehead.

"That monster was a real handful!"

Shen Qiuyue added, a trace of exhaustion in her voice.
