"Junior Brother, I am going to choose a mission as well, so wait here. There are restrictions on the cultivation realm for the upper floors, so you won’t be able to accompany me.."
Lin Feng nodded in understanding. "Alright.."
He went to an empty corner and watched calmly as Sun Xiurong climbed up the stairs.
Soon, he felt the gazes that had been directed toward him because of Sun Xiurong’s presence withdraw almost completely, leaving behind only one or two occasional glances.
He thought the time would pass peacefully and no one would disturb him, but a woman seemed to be heading in his direction. Seeing the robes she wore, he sighed inwardly.
Seduction Pavilion.
In truth, he didn’t have any particular animosity toward them. Zhe Peng’s relationship with Seduction Pavilion didn’t matter much to him. As long as the disciples of Seduction Pavilion didn’t openly act against him, he had no reason to treat them with hostility.
If they wished to approach him without any ulterior motives, he wouldn’t mind showing them the appropriate respect.
But... would things really be that simple?
He doubted it.
"Junior Brother Lin, what a pleasant surprise to find you here. I hope my sudden approach isn’t disturbing you.."
The woman was wearing a veil, but it did little to conceal her beautiful face. The material was completely transparent and seemed to serve little purpose beyond adding to her allure.
Her robes were deliberately revealing, with a long slit that exposed most of her slender legs. The more one looked at them, the harder it became to resist the temptation to pull the robes apart and reveal even more.
Her upper robes clung perfectly to her graceful curves. Even without seeing what lay beneath them, it wasn’t difficult to imagine the beauty concealed by those robes.
Lin Feng had to admit that she possessed enough charm to seduce most men with nothing more than a few flirtatious words and subtle expressions.
He couldn’t help but wonder if she was the one who had sent him that invitation parchment.
"Greetings, Senior Sister. May I ask what brings you to seek out this junior?"
The woman was an Early Manifestation Realm cultivator, which surprised him somewhat. He was still too weak, at least on the surface, to warrant the attention of someone at her cultivation realm.
"Hehehe, there is no need for such formalities between us, Junior Brother. I merely happened to see you here and wished to have a few words with you, nothing more.."
The woman smiled politely, her eyes carrying a faint hint of charm.
Lin Feng didn’t believe her.
Although, he had to admit that she hadn’t done anything unusual so far. If she truly intended to seduce him, she would certainly have tried to lower his guard by now using hidden techniques.
"Senior Sister, may I ask whether you were the one who sent me that invitation parchment previously?"
The woman shook her head slightly.
"I have never sent such an invitation to you, Junior Brother. I did consider doing so, however.."
A faint smile appeared beneath her veil.
"But I suppose there is no need for that anymore. Since we have met here, I would like to personally invite you to visit Seduction Pavilion. I can assure you that your stay there will be most enjoyable."
Lin Feng was slightly surprised by her words.
Had she truly encountered him here by chance rather than deliberately seeking him out after learning of his presence?
It was difficult to say.
Regardless, he still couldn’t be certain that her approach was as coincidental as she claimed.
"I will give it some thought, Senior Sister. Thank you for considering me worthy of such an honor.."
"You are being far too modest, Junior Brother. Your appearance surpasses that of anyone I have encountered thus far. Naturally, someone like you is more deserving than any of us of gracing the peaks of Seduction Pavilion.."
Lin Feng wasn’t flattered by her words. He merely gave a slight nod.
The woman sighed softly. "Junior Brother, it seems you are somewhat guarded against me. May I ask why? I am quite certain this is the first time our paths have crossed.."
Lin Feng smiled faintly. "You aren’t mistaken, Senior Sister. It is simply my nature. I prefer to remain cautious at all times, especially when dealing with those who may harbor hidden intentions toward me."
The woman tilted her head slightly, her eyes narrowing with curiosity. "Is that so? Then I hope I am not among those whom you suspect of harboring such intentions, Junior Brother.."
Lin Feng merely gave her a faint smile without answering.
The woman was about to continue the conversation, but she stopped herself and shook her head.
"It seems our conversation has not gone as I had hoped, Junior Brother. Even so, it was a pleasure making your acquaintance. Do give some thought to my invitation. Until we meet again.."
The woman left with a polite smile.
Lin Feng didn’t need to guess why she had departed so suddenly.
"Junior Brother, it seems I have interrupted a rather pleasant conversation.."
Lin Feng turned to his right and smiled faintly before shaking his head. "Senior Sister, she was the one who approached me. Don’t misunderstand me because of that.."
Sun Xiurong narrowed her eyes slightly. "What is there to misunderstand, Junior Brother? I am quite certain you wouldn’t mind indulging her, especially since you could always use the excuse of your..."
She stopped herself before finishing the sentence. She had no intention of speaking about such matters in public, even though she had already erected a barrier around them to prevent anyone from overhearing.
Lin Feng sighed with slight smile, it seems she was really little sour about their previous interaction even when she didn’t want to show it to him directly.
"Senior Sister, she was indeed beautiful, there is no denying that. However, compared to your grace, she is still far from enough to stir my heart. How could I possibly be captivated by her?"
