Chapter 4445: Leaving The Nether Orb Cobra Clan
Chapter 4445: Leaving The Nether Orb Cobra Clan
Azbel went towards his father, flying a bit faster.
He looked down to see the gash on the upper part of the long body of the snake.
It was already healing. Grand Saint Magical Beasts already possessed a powerful regenerative ability, after all. King Savur also didn’t attack ruthlessly, making him wonder if they put on an entire show to convince him to stay here, but he felt it was unlikely.
"Father, stand up..."
He said, causing Azbel’s father to rise. He seemed guilty, unable to look him at his son in the eyes.
Azbel also didn’t know what to say.
Now that his anger had receded a lot, he felt awkward and also a bit regretful that he berated his father like he knew everything. He didn’t know what his father had gone through, yet wanted to place all the blame on him. Nonetheless, he didn’t like this atmosphere, causing him to pat his father’s giant snake body.
"Everything’s fine now. You can come with us."
Azbel’s father turned to look at him, shrugging away his hand as he moved away.
"My loyalty lies within this clan. You should go."
"Are you kidding me?" Azbel scowled, "You’ve been branded a traitor and got exiled judging by how King Savur told us to take you away."
"You don’t know our King. He’s a benevolent ruler, always having the utmost good of the race in mind, and even cares for the lowest of clansmen. You should’ve seen him vouching for me until I said something so traitorous. I’ll apologize and beg for him to take me back."
"You-"
Azbel was speechless as he pointed at his father.
"Son..."
Azbel’s father turned to look at him, his serpent eyes revealing a proud emotion, "I can’t be like you, and you can’t be like me. That is fine. You’ve become a King-Tier Beast, making our lineage proud. Do what you want in this vast world, and I wish the best for you. It is better if you exit this dimension faster. Although it is extremely difficult to find an entrance leading to the living realm, I’ll have my people look for one."
"..." Azbel took a breath, "No need. You’re coming with me, and this is final."
"What?"
"I’m a King. You better listen to me!"
Azbel became bold as he kicked his father’s tail.
"You-"
Azbel’s father was dumbfounded.
"Besides, I’ll soon become an Emperor. You should be there with me to wish me well. Otherwise, I will feel sad and murderous again."
"W-What do you mean?" Azbel’s father didn’t understand heads or tails about becoming an Emperor.
One couldn’t become an Emperor just because they wanted to!
However, Azbel didn’t explain. He patted his father’s tail again.
"Change into your human form. It will be convenient."
"What? No. We magical beasts should take pride in-"
"Just do it!"
Azbel roared, his voice overbearing as it was filled with a King’s aura.
Azbel’s father had no choice but to follow his son’s words since he was blackmailed both emotionally and through the bloodline. His figure flashed with a purple light, and he shrunk into a man who was at a similar height.
"Fuck, I knew you wouldn’t dress up."
Azbel had quickly set up a curtain around and sighed in relief. Now, it was obvious to him that this Nether Orb Cobra Clan never bothered transforming into humans, so they didn’t bother with conjuring clothes either. He then instructed that too, and brought his father to Nadia and the others who patiently waited for him.
A black-robed man with similar features as Azbel walked out of the curtains and appeared before them.
He knelt towards Nadia, "Revered Wolf, this lowly cobra’s name is Veralt. I must thank you for intervening and saving this old soul."
"It’s not my doing." Nadia plainly answered as though she was humble.
Azbel followed suit, cupping his hands.
"Fairy Nadia, this time around, I must thank you from the bottom of my heart. You saved me and my father from certain demise. I was a fool to have acted against an old king of the Nether Orb Cobra race. The outcome is obvious, especially with the Divine Nether Totem. We are truly grateful."
Nadia shook her head, "Don’t be mistaken. They do not fear me. They fear the Nether Springs Death Wolf Clan."
"Yes, but you’re an Emperor-Tier Beast, the hope of a race. They wouldn’t dare harm you, fearing retaliation if the Nether Springs Death Wolf Clan found out."
Azbel chuckled.
Illumina opened her mouth, "Now that you have reunited with your father, the promise our master gave you is fulfilled."
"Yes." Azbel nodded. His heart swelled with the unfamiliar emotions of loyalty.
"Let’s leave for the Nether Springs Death Wolf Clan. Senior Veralt, do you know the way to at least halfway? The closer we get, the more easily we can find the location of the clan."
"I’ll try." Veralt nodded at Illumina.
He took a look at the ladies again, thinking they were all powerful for their levels. Initially, he had thought that his son had made a strange harem, but with the way he spoke respectfully to them, it didn’t seem like it was the case. Nonetheless, even if he didn’t like the other nether races like the Nethermoon Mirage Rabbit and Nether-Winged Abyss Raven, he knew the Nether Springs Death Wolf was the leader here.
He respected the Nether Springs Death Wolf race and knew not to act up.
He didn’t waste any time. However, he asked for some time to bring Azbel further inside and introduced him to his siblings.
Azbel was stunned!
He didn’t know he had a little brother and two little sisters from two other mothers.
He started feeling a bit emotional, wondering if he could just abandon this origin of his and do as he pleased. After all, from a little snake, he had always wished to return here and reunite with the clan to experience glory. But here, the situation was ever-bleak.
He couldn’t just leave his siblings here, but he also didn’t think that he could waste time here. He had chosen a master to follow, and he was determined to see to the end despite his jovial nature.
"You can only take the traitor!" King Savur’s voice resounded from nowhere.
Azbel was speechless. It seems like he could only return here to give support. His father also didn’t seem to want to leave, as he remained loyal to the clan and King Savur.
He didn’t know if King Savur was a calculative or a genuine person. After all, most serpents were known to be fickle beings.
In the end, he inwardly decided that he would let his father go back if that was his wish.
But first, they needed to make it the Nether Springs Death Wolf Clan.
They set out, not even covering ten percent of the distance, when a terrifying rumbling echoed across the ground, and shockwaves made them lose balance ever so lightly.
"Exalts are battling!" Vereina’s eyes lit up, "It’s in the direction of the Nether Orb Cobra Clan."
"An Exalt Nether Devil must’ve come to take revenge since those devils you killed were nearby..." Veralt sighed, "However, it wouldn’t succeed without more Exalt Nether Devils on its side. It will be difficult to breach the defenses of our Nether Orb Cobra Clan since the three Kings attack and defend at the same time in unison, quickly dispatching enemy forces."
The nether haze was temporarily pushed back.
At that moment, three purple lights could be seen taking on a single dark black light in the distance. The dark black light, after a few bouts, had no choice but to flee.
