Chapter 4518: Celis Can’t Know
Chapter 4518: Celis Can’t Know
The reason the guy asked that was because one could join Rosvelt in several different areas, not just as a cultivator. There were various occupations and positions within the sect, each with its own requirements and responsibilities. Still, the worker was pretty sure Kentucky and Kachia wanted to join as normal cultivators. He only asked because it was part of the standard policy for anyone seeking to enter the sect.
"Well, I definitely don’t know anything other than fighting and sleeping..." Kentucky commented, scratching his head.
"For me, it’s more about cultivation and having fun, so I guess I’m on the fighting side as well..." Kachia added with a smile.
She wasn’t wrong. Kentucky hated cultivation, but it was still the most assured method of getting stronger. He had no interest in becoming an Array Master, pill maker, or anything else that required him to spend countless hours studying. Fighting was straightforward, and cultivating was simply something he had to endure to become stronger, so Kachia wasn’t wrong to say she was similar.
"Very well," the worker nodded. "What’s your cultivation?"
"I’m an Aura God Peak Stage," Kentucky commented casually.
Kachia immediately looked at him in surprise. "Peak Stage? Weren’t you at the Late Stage before?"
Kentucky smiled. "We cultivated a lot, remember? I had my breakthrough outside when you weren’t looking. I still want to catch up to you."
Kachia sighed. "You could have told me. I think even Father doesn’t know about it."
"Hey, you two lovebirds, stop wasting everyone’s time," a cultivator waiting behind them complained when he noticed their interaction. He clearly had no interest in watching the two of them discuss their cultivation any longer.
"Ahem!" Kachia quickly looked away, slightly embarrassed. "I’m a Zone God Middle Stage."
The worker was slightly surprised when he heard that. "A Zone God, huh? We don’t see many people coming to try to join the sect at such a late stage in their cultivation. Usually, those who want to join Rosvelt start much earlier so they can benefit from the sect’s resources for a longer period. Well, that’s not a problem either. It will be Ten Godly Beast Crystals for the Aura God and One Godly Predator Crystal for the Zone God."
Sure enough, there was a fee here too, and it was quite expensive. Even after seeing how casually everyone in Woster treated Godly Beast and Predator Crystals, Kachia still couldn’t completely get used to their value here.
Kachia couldn’t help but swallow hard. Godly Predator Crystals were incredibly rare in Besgol, but here, one of them was simply the price for a single test to enter Rosvelt. She did have three Godly Predator Crystals with her, but she had worked very hard to acquire those. Naturally, she didn’t particularly like the idea of spending one merely to take an entrance test.
"Here you go." Kentucky, however, didn’t hesitate and paid both his and Kachia’s testing fees. He casually took out the required crystals and placed them on the counter before the worker could even say anything else.
Kachia glanced at him, but Kentucky simply smiled before touching her shoulder and sending her a Godly Sense Message. ’Don’t forget that it isn’t too hard for my group to kill Godly Predators. Don’t pay much attention to it. If it bothers you, you can pay me back later...’
Then, his expression suddenly became serious for a moment. ’Just don’t tell Celis about it. He will kill me.’
Kachia couldn’t help but smile brightly at that. She knew Celis well enough to imagine exactly what would happen if he found out Kentucky had casually spent one of their Godly Predator Crystals on her entrance test. She nodded in response. ’Thanks.’
The worker noticed none of that and simply continued doing his job. "There are daily tests of strength for the various races. Here, take this."
Kentucky and Kachia each received a sky-blue token with the image of a fist engraved on both sides. The tokens seemed quite simple, but they clearly contained some kind of identifying method that would tell the sect exactly why they were being allowed through the entrance.
"Go through the Sect Gate and show this token at the entrance," the worker explained. "The cultivators there will guide you to the area where the test of strength takes place. You will have to wait until the end of the day for the test to start, though."
"What kind of test can we expect there?" Kachia asked curiously.
"You are both Demon Birds, right? So expect to have your aerial capabilities tested. As a complement, you might also be tested on the ground to see how you react to situations outside your zone of comfort. They will want to see your speed, maneuverability, endurance, and combat ability. That’s basically it."
Kentucky quite liked the explanation. It was basically what any normal sect back in Vinx Great Void would do. The familiar setup made him feel strangely nostalgic, as if he had returned to the days when joining a sect was simply a matter of proving one’s strength.
"That’s very straightforward," Kentucky commented.
"There is no point in making things complicated. That’s what the tests for sub-occupations exist for. If you want to join as an Array Master, pill maker, blacksmith, or something similar, then you will have to take a completely different test. Strength is strength, plain and simple," the worker explained. "Anyway, you can go already."
"Next!"
The duo left the building and went straight to the sect entrance. Now that they weren’t visitors anymore, the cultivators guarding the gate checked their tokens and guided them further inside. They were eventually brought to an open field farther into the sect, although it was still quite far from the main buildings visible in the distance.
The place was already crowded. There were various other Demon Birds, Spirits, and basically any kind of species that could naturally fly without requiring Godly Energy. Some were talking among themselves, while others simply waited in silence.
Kachia and Kentucky were separated there. After all, it made no sense to test an Aura God amidst a bunch of Zone Gods or vice-versa, especially since the difference between the two realms could be quite significant.
As expected, Kentucky’s group had a lot of Aura Gods. Most were Initial or Middle Stage, with a smaller number at the Late and Peak Stages. As for Kachia, there was only her and one more Demon Bird, who was in the Initial Stage of the Zone God Realm. That alone showed how much rarer cultivators at her level were when compared to those at the Aura God Realm.
Let’s not even talk about the group of Anchor Gods. That one was immense.
Looking into the distance, Kentucky could see several other groups being prepared for their own tests. There were Humanoids, Devils, Angels, Demon Beasts, Spirits, and other races, each apparently being tested according to their own natural abilities. It seemed Rosvelt had a fairly organized system for evaluating potential recruits.
"I guess we can only wait until the end of the day now," Kentucky muttered, looking around the field.
—
Roan met Rean, Lukay, and Flugel sometime later, after leaving the area where he had been investigating the Goodbye World Pillars. Flugel had already been told what Roan was about to try, and he found the whole plan even riskier than the twins’ group did.
After all, Flugel knew nothing about the twins’ group’s soul protection from the system. From his perspective, Roan was simply a Peak Stage Aura God willingly flying into the Godly Creatures’ Territories to search for something that had supposedly killed even Peak Stage Law Gods.
"You are crazy," Flugel said bluntly.
Roan didn’t even bother answering. He simply extended his hand toward Rean. "Give it to me."
Rean passed the Spatial Ring over without hesitation. "The RC beacon is in the hotel, so there is no need to worry about losing connection. The only way for that to happen is if something blocks the signal in this place."
He paused for a moment before becoming serious. "Just one thing. Make absolutely sure to take care of Mark. He is very sensitive. You definitely don’t want to see him angry."
Roan’s mouth twitched. Rean was now talking about the airplane as if it were another cultivator with its own sentience. "Can you get any more annoying?"
"Hmph!" Rean didn’t care in the slightest. "Don’t say I didn’t warn you."
Roan completely ignored him and made his way out of the city. He had already decided to investigate the Ghost of Woster, and nothing Rean said would change his mind now. If anything, the possibility that the Ghost was connected to the Goodbye World Pillars made him even more determined to see it with his own eyes.
Once he was far enough away from the city and certain that no one nearby would notice what he was doing, Roan took the airplane out. The vessel immediately appeared, but it remained concealed by the array systems Rean had installed beforehand.
Roan then attached several Godly Crystals to the empty slots. Since there was only Roan here, he had no reason to hide the airplane’s ability to disguise itself as a Godly Creature. He didn’t need to worry about Thery, Kachia, or anyone else accidentally noticing the strange energy signature either.
Soon, the Light Bending Plates activated, and the airplane became invisible to the naked eye. Combined with the fact that Celestial Sense and Godly Sense couldn’t be used in Woster, ordinary cultivators wouldn’t be able to detect it either.
Of course, Roan still had to remain cautious. There could always be other detection methods, especially among the stronger experts of Woster, and relying entirely on invisibility would be foolish.
Roan immediately checked the controls. Mark responded as expected, the vessel’s systems coming online without any problems. Roan narrowed his eyes as he looked toward the vast territory beyond Dlaval City. "Let’s see what kind of ghost you really are."
With that, the airplane began accelerating toward the outskirts of Woster, carrying Roan farther and farther away from the safety of the city.
